If you go on to Chewy, they have big snuffle mats that look like baby blankets. I got a big square one and it had different types of hidey spots. I also use lick mats too.
I don't have the dog camera, but I watch my dog and cats with my daughters baby monitor. It has the 2 way talk and I talked through it once and both my cats and my dog started frantically looking around the house for me all confused. Made me feel bad 😂
I used an indoor Blink camera to watch my dog and home. I did that when I was still working in an office full time. I could connect via Alexa and drop in and I could talk to her, I could play music or have a book reading to her. Not sure that she liked that so much. So I used an old radio and put classical music on. If I needed to drop in on Alexa to talk her down from barking or crying she would look all around like where are you? She knew she was getting scolded for making a ruckus but she quickly learned to calm down too. She would get into a routine that if I was getting ready to leave, shoes on and the radio or TV was turned on that it was for her. She will just lay in her bed or on the couch or the chair in the window and wait for me. When she was little she was crate trained so that helped but now that she’s almost 6 years old she knows this is home and she’s safe and I’ll be right back. I would attempt short trips at first and get Lumpy used to city life and street noise. Or leave a cheap radio on low volume and use a security camera to check in but maybe not the dog camera until he understands and knows his second home.
Chiming in to say I LOVE my Furbo! It gives me such peace of mind when I'm not home to be able to check in on my dog, toss her a treat, and talk to her. In a recent update, Furbo now has an option to play calming music if your dog begins to bark too much. I just think it's a wonderful product and I think you'll absolutely love it too.

The condo is gorgeous! I have minimal storage space in my house also & one tip that really helped was making sure every furniture piece included storage, so beds have drawers underneath, nightstands and console tables etc everything has drawers & doors. Couches, coffee table & ottoman all have some storage! Congrats on your new space! Lumpy will settle in there in time 💕

I've had a Furbo for 6 years and love it. It's so fun to throw treats with your phone and being able to talk to them through it. I've had it for so long it was before subscriptions were required. It's sleek looking too so most people don't know what it is. Lol
The furbo is great. You don’t need the subscription if you just want to be able to check on him when you aren’t there. The subscription is good because it will keep track of how often he is barking which will probably be helpful for you.

I also don't really use the treat feature but they give you a tutorial on how to get your dog used to it. I love the daily updates Furbo gives and the notifications they gave when our dogs are barking, crying, or when there's a person.
Congratulations 🎉 for Lumpy, I would suggest a Kong. You can fill it with his mix of food, or peanut butter and freeze. He only gets this special treat when you are gone. You can also work on just short separate periods, e.g. 1 minute, 2, etc as he builds tolerance. Just so he thinks you are gone. Step outside and listen for noise. If he is quiet, then come back in and celebrate! Build timing as he progresses and stays calm. Again, he would get a special treat that he only gets while you are gone, and he behaves.
We love our furbo! Subscription is very little monthly. I don’t talk a lot just not to upset my pups. It the great option and the being able to check in is great for us. It will play lullabys too if he barks to soothe him. Happy for you and Lumpy 😂

I have a very anxious pup. We haven’t tried the furbo because of the subscription. We have an Amazon Echo Show and it allows me to check in on him and I could talk with him but that would just make him go crazier 😅

Be very careful with those dental treats. Sometimes the dog will swallow them. Our dg did twice and luckily we were close by and able to remove it from her throat. Don’t leave them unattended while using those.
Hi Lori! Crazy empty nester, dog mom here! (And I have no shame about it) I would suggest in the winter always wiping Lumpy’s paws off after walks in the city because some people may use ice melt that is hazardous to dogs to ingest. You won’t want him to lick his paws and get sick. Also, we have the wobble ball for my dog and it makes him insane! He barks and barks. It’s good for a cold winter’s day when you can’t go for a walk to tire him out but it drives me nuts from the barking! ❤ looking forward to your Boston adventures.
Hi great video about Lumpy... Try to ease him more on Fresh Pet than kibble.. Read the ingredients, kibble is not the best... I have Shih zhu, rescue him 2 years ago.. he allergic to chicken. I make his food about twice month, the rest is frozen in baggies enough for 3 or 4 days... He loves it the meal i make.. You can also give him celery bites... I had a Furbo camera and my dogs were scared of it. It makes a noise when it throws the treat and it scared the bejesus out of them. They didn't like to be talked to thru the camera either. I ended up using it as a dog cam so it wasn't really worth the money.

Kongs should never be left with a dog unsupervised- my dog swallowed his Kong and had to have a bowel resection
