I've always wondered if our dogs know that we take them to the vet for their own good and not as a punishment.
@@Tony56000they probably don’t, from their perspective they just get poked and prodded and put in uncomfortable situations, the only real way to help them is with positive reinforcement
@@Tony56000 I think they maybe can sense it. Like how you treat them in General. Some Animals can also sense whether a Person is good or evil.
@@feindkontakt5956 I have a theory that dogs might get scared of the vet because we get nervous when going there. As in, we as humans know that animals tend to dislike the vet, and therefore our mood changes to a more serious/nervous one when we take them to the vet. And animals tend to be quite influenced by how the people around them act, especially dogs. So I wonder if our emotions + the poking and prodding that the vet does is what causes the dislike, and not just what the vet does on their own.

Our dear departed pooch hated going to the vet. She took great umbrage especially if he tried to take her temperature. Her attitude was very much 'I didn't give you permission and you won't get it!' In fact she was like that whenever another dog showed too much interest and would promptly sit and if too persistent growl!
