i cant say how exactly doa was made, but vowels are just harmonics. so if you take a sound, stretch it out long enough to be a sample, and slap a filter on it hard enough, you get a vowel. im doing somethng similar but with a single sample of wind. its really time consuming, but sometimes it sounds *really* good
