According to Sid himself, in a few interviews, the powers that be in WCW at the time requested that Sid add more flashy top rope moves to his arsenal. He chose this one. He regretted it immediately.

Jimmy Valiant was telling me this story. They told him he should try it one time and if he didn’t like it then he wouldn’t have to do it again… that didn’t turn out so good.

    • @ThunderFist1978

I still say it’s Sid’s own fault that he tried something like a big boot. I would have gone with a double axe handle, which you can land safely from and that doesn’t take a lot of agility to do. Plus, it would have looked great coming from someone that size. But when you are Sid’s size and land on one leg, yeah, you can’t expect it to go well.

It was his idea to add "more flashy moves from off the ropes". Sid, not being able to come up with anything that made sense for a guy his size, chose that. He should've known that wasn't a good choice before he snapped the last third of his leg. It was a pretty stupid suggestion overall.

Then go challenge Bobby, because there's no way he's taking Seth 😂

#1 moment that stopped WCW matches in their tracks: Vince buying the company. Too literal??

Not really. Even kayfabe wise they ran a full Nitro the week after Vince announced the purchase on the Raw/Nitro simulcast.

@@PinguWithAnAxe at least fenix still had guts to say im ok and there wasn't anything wrong about how he would recuperate afterwards. Sid was literally done in everything; he had to use half-metre rod in his leg, using a cane, and needed a year to be on his prime shape again. It also ruined his career instantly because no big dogs would ever going to be interested in hiring him again
