  • This reconstructed fort and museum are spectacular! Its open to the public and this video shows you what to expect.
The most expensive firearms ever to go to auction were originally owned by the Marquis de Lafayette, presented to General George Washington and handed down to Andrew Jackson. You can see this national treasure for the price of admission.

Love this presentation. As a living historian of the period, Col° Thomas Cresap, Maryland Militia, Co-founder & Factor of the Ohio Company of Virginia (1732-63) I visited Fort Ligonier several times as part of my immersion into portrayal of the period. Just a contrarian comment, which I tried to add to the discussion of the Pittsburgh-centric regional planning group that "commemorated" the F & I 250th in 2004-2006... :
The war began in 1754, in Jumonville Glen. It ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1763. That's NINE years, not seven. Do the math. Yes, Duke of Cumberland wanted to stir it up in America in order to confront Les Francaise in Europe and thought that lighting the fuse in western Virginia was a good idea.. but..
Please give my most profound & sincere regards to Linda Boxx, and let her know I'll be in touch soon...

Very nice presentation. The interviewee gets it correct that the Virginia Regiment were provincial regulars and not from the militia.

@@Erikthetravelguy yeah, thanks. I know I can google it. My point being that it would be helpful in the future to orient your listeners by spelling out the location of where you are talking about. It makes the talk a little more interesting. Just some constructive critique.
