Hi James - Great to see you here! Thanks so much for watching and weighing in. I too am excited to see the results for Tim's community list compilation. Coming up with these titles was a bit challenging, but a lot of fun! There were so many great films from the 90s... It almost feels like 25 barely even scratches the surface, ya know?
Most of my teen years are the 90s. So it probably formed my early tastes in movies and music. The original live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, Speed, Twister, Jurassic Park and The Matrix.Great decade for film.
Yeah the 90s really was a great time for movies... it's what I consider the last great decade for film before everything went digital. I remember seeing almost all of those films in the theater when they first came out (except TMNT... that was never really my thing.). Such a fun decade too... it definitely helped shape my tastes in movies as well. Many "future" classics came out then.
Right on! I will definitely check it out. I've been getting a kick out of watching everyone's 90s lists. Fun stuff! Just subbed on your channel as well.😉 Thanks for the support and for watching!🙂
I was born in 1994, such an amazing year for film! Pulp Fiction, Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Natural Born Killers among them. All of which I only got to see later in life naturally ;)
Got to love Independence Day! Just revisited Enemy of the State...so freakin good! Speed is such a fantastic classic. Holds up beautifully. Jurassic Park is a perfect flick imo. Excellent picks!
10 glaring omissions: - Braveheart - Bram Stoker's Dracula - The Silence of the Lambs - Goodfellas - Sleepy Hollow - Schindler's List - Eyes Wide Shut - Leon the Professional - Batman Returns - Reservoir Dogs Interesting list though!
Yeah so many great films came out during this time, it's hard to narrow it down to 25 even. And of course, opinions vary. But thanks for watching the channel and weighing in! Really appreciate it.🙂
for me the best Tony Scott film of the 90s TRUE ROMANCE...WOW watched this one so many times like 50 since 93 on VHS, Laserdisc, cinema, DVD and Blu ray.
Another of my favourite decades for films, i turned 10 in February, 1990, so this was my teenage decade: 25 Quick Change (90) 24 American Pie (99) 23 Bride Of Chucky (98) 22 Die Hard 2 (90) 21 Bird On A Wire (90) 20 Urban Legend (98) 19 Lethal Weapon 4 (98) 18 Housesitter (92) 17 Another 48 Hours (90) 16 Lock, Stock, And Two Smoking Barrels (98) 15 L.A. 1. Magnolia 2. Fight Club 3. Clerks 4. Natural Born Killers 5. Trainspotting 6. Pulp Fiction 7. American Beauty 8. My Own Private Idaho 9. Man Bites Dog 10. Chungking Express 11. Fallen Angels 12. Attack The Gas Station 13. La Haine 14. Run Lola Run 15. The Blair Witch Project 16. Leon The Professional 17. Delicatessen 18. Rushmore 19. Khrustalyov, My Car! 20. Reservoir Dogs 21. Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse 22. From Dusk Til Dawn 23. Crumb 24. Fargo 25. Muriel's Wedding
Seen all of them and love most. I would have subbed Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List, Forrest Gump, The Green Mile, Braveheart, and perhaps a few others for some variation. I would agree that the 90s were, if not the greatest, at least the LAST great decade of Hollywood. The decline started in the 2000s and at this point it’s just 99% garbage, in my humble opinion. Also, we really need Twister in 4K with Atmos! Thanks for the video. Liked and subscribed. 👍🏻
Literally 99% of everything ever is garbage. It's no more garbage today than ever before. The 90's were also 99% shit. Everyone just conveniently sticks to the shit they grew up on and conveniently forgets the rest. Most of the stuff the people in these comments like is absolute trash, they just either don't know anything, or are blinded by pure kiddie nostalgia.
The top 4 are tied: 1. Braveheart 2. Dolores Claiborne 3. Forrest Gump 4. Magnolia 5. Goodfellas 6. Terminator 2: Judgment Day 7. JFK 8. Pleasantville 9. Toy Story 2 10. Toy Story 11. Aladdin 12. Beauty and the Beast 13. Jurassic Park 14. Ed Wood 15. Pi 16. The Fugitive 17. A Perfect World 18. City Slickers 19. That Thing You Do 20. Rushmore 21. Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) 22. Tarzan (1999) 23. Bringing Out the Dead 24. Prince of Egypt 25. Awakenings
Great list! I haven't seen all of them, but there are quite a few on your list I forgot about that I really liked as well. Especially A Perfect World. Saw that one in the theaters when it first came out... solid film. One of the better Costner performances I can remember (plus, you can never go wrong with a little Clint!).
There are a number of them I've not seen, mainly because they're just not really my cup of tea. Namely, the Disney and animated stuff, Ed Wood and Pi (although I have seen the first two Toy Story films). I'm more of an action/sci-fi/horror kind of guy, generally speaking (although I do enjoy a good drama from time to time).
my top 25 is no order: True Romance, Usual Suspects, From Dusk Till Dawn, Heat, Con Air, Die hard with a Vengeance, Strange Days, , Casino, Ghost in the shell(anime), Independence Day, Forrest Gump, Saving Private Ryan, The Addiction, l, Bad Lieutenant, King of New York, , NIght of the Living Dead 1990, Dust Devil, In the Mouth of Madness, Vampires, ., Stalingrad, Jackie Brown. Ronin, Last Man Standing, JFK, 12 Monkeys,
Great list! Always love to see other Jackie Brown fans out there! Jackie doesn't get nearly enough love compared to other Tarantino offerings. But it's my favorite film of his. Thanks for watching!
There's lots of great and iconic movies you passed up on here. Schindlers List Saving Private Ryan Goodfellas Boogie nights Truman Show Boyz n the hood Mrs Doubtfire Groundhog Day Silence of the Lambs Thelma and Louise Hook Toy Story And many more...
On the Sci fi and horror, I recently rewatched Gattaca and found that to be a masterpiece, as well as Star Trek First Contact and movies like The Devils Advocate, Tremors, Scream, point break, True Lies, Face Off, cliffhanger, Leon, dusk till dawn, demolition man, Dracula
That's because the primary focus of this channel is action, sci-fi and horror genres from the 70s-90s. Those are the genres I'm into the most. And of course, it's a personal, subjective list. So yeah, you listed a lot of classics there that I don't deny are on a lot of people's lists... but most of them are films I'm just not personally that into that much -- at least, not enough for them to make my Top 25 (though Goodfellas almost made my list). Thanks for watching and weighing in.
@@TheOriginalFuzz no probs... I've shouted out a few Sci fi, action and horror movies from the 90s there in my further comment. Did any of them nearly make your list?
@@benpascall4297 Oh ok gotcha. Some great sci-fi/horror choices in there. True Lies did make my list, I believe. I'm kind of kicking myself for not adding Point Break. Gattaca is a great film too and one I've been eyeing for picking up on 4K. Devil's Advocate is another fantastic film that I forgot all about. Honestly, there were so many great films that came out in the 90s, I probably could've very easily added at least another 25 to my list (that were weighted fairly evenly). Even after making my list, I remembered/came across a few titles that I'd wished I'd included on it (like the 1994 film "No Escape" with Ray Liotta). I'm a big Stallone fan too. 🙂
