    I knew of a US Navy Petty Officer who was killed when mooring lines snapped. Killed him and seriously injured (amputations) three others. This system is a vast improvement over mooring ropes.

      Thanks for your comment. As you point out, tragically, people continue to lose their lives and suffer severe injuries in incidents involving conventional mooring. MoorMaster plays a key role in making mooring safer.

    I Can Suggest that your Great 👍company must Seriously consider promoting this Advanced Ship mooring system to Singapore 🇸🇬Port Authority (PSA) .

    That would reduce manpower and boost safe mooring operations. But in terms of bad weather it could damage the device.

    Damn, I've never seen a system like that during my years in the container transport. How does it work? Magnetic? Does it work against strong forces either?

      Hello! Thanks for your comment. MoorMaster is vacuum based, and is used regularly to more large container vessels at ports in Lebanon, Oman, and South Africa.       No Vaccum system. Yes, it works with strong winds and currents.

      The vacuum idea came from how film on photoengraving cameras are stuck to the cameras,I suggested this to Peter M in late 1980s in Lyttleton NZ

      Hi! The advanced control system of the MoorMaster keeps the position of the vessel fixed in sway and surge directions by counteracting forces from wave, wind, and currents. This is done by a hydraulic system and Cavotec's patented Active Control algorithm.
      At the same time, the mooring units handle the tidal variation by letting the vessel float freely in the vertical direction (heave) using the rails they are mounted on. If there are extreme tidal differences, one mooring unit at a time can also release the vessel and then re-attach higher up. This allows the system to "walk" or "step" up/down the side of the vessel.

    don't understand, is rope still used to moor the ship and hold it in place?

      Hi! The vacuum pads of the MoorMaster system keep the vessel safely moored without any ropes. Since the system attaches in as little as 30 seconds at the push of a button, loading/off-loading operations can start earlier and all personnel can stay safe with no dangerous snapback zones.
