I don't know why your IP cheesecake didn't look good. Mine always turns out perfect. Did you tap pan to get out all the air bubbles? I don't bring water to a boil before adding cheesecake. Put in a cup of water, place on rack put a piece of tinfoil over it. Mine comes out great, smooth top, without cracks. Looks the same as your oven baked one. It's too easy & so delicious!

You are supposed to cover the IP cheesecake with foil and paper towel underneath. It turns out better than the oven

Great video!! I love how it’s edited-the quick cuts match your style and wit perfectly. Kudos for the professionalism. I’m not much of a cook, but the novelty of it got me to try this IP recipe and it turned out great. Now that I know it’s not that different in an oven I’ll give that a try. Thanks for the great review, I’m definitely subscribed!

I will never go back to the oven method, watched many IP recipes, used methods of a few combined them into my own recipe method, It’s IP cheesecake from now on so far I have made 2 pumpkin. 1 lemon, 1 chocolate 1plain, no cracks, creamy, sever different toppings.

I LOVE cheesecake. Probably would never make it tho because living alone I’d devour that thing before the day was up. 😅
As for the FB group, I was a member before leaving FB sometime in early ‘19 I think. They were having problems with inappropriate, hostile posts and having to police them, which was really annoying as you can imagine. They just wanted to have a nice, happy, safe spot and certain people were ruining it for others, so I guess since then they went full on with needing to approve every post. I felt bad for them because the owners/mods already had busy lives…..and man, has it grown in size since then!
    btw, subscribed ❤

I used the #1 recipe but added 1/2 pkg. semi sweet chocolate, melted. I thought it was good! I think the obsession part comes in because you think it will not work and have to try it to see. That is why I tried it.

Fun video. In defense of the Instant Pot cheesecake, which I’ve made several times, it doesn’t heat up the kitchen as much (except for that steam!). Cheese cake anyway is yum.

I loved this! I will probably stick to the oven version.

Thank you, i've been wondering that about that obsession as well, ever since I joined the community. I think everyone thought that making cheesecake the traditional way was too hard, when in fact, like you said... it only saves 20 minutes and a little heat in your home.

Awesome video! I agree with everything you said here and you really got me to thinkin‘ about my instant pot cheesecake. I am not a cook or a baker of any kind so I have gravitated to the instant pot as a way to cook without really knowing anything about cooking. I tried the cheesecake and it came out great, but I only tried it thinking it must be so much simpler than the real oven version. It has always seemed like such an amazing dessert that I figured it must be really complicated to make and so the ip version must be a kind of hack for kitchen dummies like myself. Now that I see the only difference is just sticking it in the oven in a bain-marie (don‘t remember what you called that in English), I feel so proud of myself, cuz essentially I made a fuckin cheesecake!!! Pardon my French, both times, but this is really cool, and I‘m going to go make a cheesecake in the oven and then brag about it for days. I appreciate it!

I added coconut flakes, dried cherries, chocolate chips, and I used vanilla cookies crushed as a crust. Protip. You should have cover instapot version with foil to avoid water in cake

How much time did you bake for in the oven?

  • @Fadjac
    @Fadjac 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

What if you cover the pan with aluminum foil? I'm not sure if it works well for cheesecake, just a suggestion. Thanks!

Your oven made version presents itself beautifully. I’ve never brought my water to boil in my IP. I just pour my cup after filling it with whatever temp I get from the tap.
Someone else stated trying to cover your IP cake with foil, which is what I do. The center is going to be the last to cook and thus will remain cooler, which is what triggers the water to condense and pool there. A foil cover will help with that. Recipes vary so, many use zest or peel but, I don’t bother with that.
I do cook mine at a slightly less time 26 minutes but, Iet it rest in the IP for another 10. You seem to have a good strategy for oven baked cheesecakes so, in your case that would appear to be the best method.
I wouldn’t have bothered using paper for the sides of the cake since you used a springform pan. Greasing the sides should be fine and, save you the wrinkles.

I have heard that you need to cover the cheese cake with foil or plastic wrap before putting in the Instapot.... I don't know I never make them, I only eat them....

I appreciate this video it's been times I see a fuss over the IP for things that are just as good or better done conventionally. It has its place don't get me wrong but not with everything.

I once watched a lot of Instant Pot videos and noticed that some. housewives bought rotesserie chickens and opened cans. Not a great ad for the Instant Pote.

I have not read other comments, so maybe a re-hash. Looks like you used too much water in the pressure cooker; one cup is all I use. Looks like your pressure cooker was still too hot when opened. For me, I use the InstaPot because I have an InstaPot. I get good looking results and only droplets of water around the top edge, but I am just a novice and maybe beginner's luck...

Wow... You have to be invited? And then your posts need to be reviewed before they are seen? Doesn't seem like the kind of community I'd join. Honestly..too much censoring. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Facebook groups can get dangerous. I'm in hundreds. The ones that don't have post approval have people posting porn and spam non stop
