Such a awesome video Jesse. Love the content brother. The way you think ahead and prepare is awesome. Even the little comments about the Animals and deer about the drainage ditch. Awesome character man. God Bless you and the family.
Another truly enjoyable video, Jesse and incredibly large-scale job. You've already got great results, which go a long way to protect your property and workshop area. I am looking forward to the next instalment
The combination of someone with tons of competence and all the right machines, combined with creativity and problem solving, makes this such a great channel. Thanks Jesse. I learn so much from each of your videos.
Great video, Jesse. Lots of good comments pertinent to your channel. Prayers and blessings ☝ 🙏 🙌 in Jesus's Name for you, family, your employees. Keep the safety level high, be healthy, discerning and successful. Catch you soon on the next video. Make it soon. Can hardly wait bro.🎯💯%
Jesse, look into Dexpan chemical rock breaker for that big bolder closest to the house. Drill holes in bolder, fill with Dexpan mix, come back 24 hrs later and clean up the mess. Also i’d love to see that whole stream graded better. It’s a hazard coming around the back corner of the big shop. Someones gonna fall in there that doesn’t belong on your property, then sue you. Killer work, looks SO good!
It was about time! It is been a minute since last vid, at least for me; I was getting bored, YT has been suggesting weird and dull stuff. Here your are though, as always saving the day. Thanks man!
On the ledge rock you hit. I would like to see you try and break it up by drilling holes and using water to freeze crack it. I assume the harder it is the better it will work. Should make good content too.
Nice work! We have a similar situation here. We are also on the downhill side of the road and have to deal with water during storms. Our current drain system cannot keep up with some of these new storms we get. A project on my to do list for 2025.
HEY WAIT A MinuteJESES MULLER You are a true ElevatorOperator carpenter Mechanic Plumber landscaper I don’t know how you do it but you do what you do when you do it stay strong stay prayed up stay motivated Jesses Muller
well, can consider this a rough in to start. and add culvert sections in the future as have time and resources. great video again, Jesse. thanks for bringing us along on the adventure!!
1/16/25..your continuation of site/drain improvements behind new shop..lots of difficult terrain, cap rock & long distances to dig-out (700'?) = long....but productive video...great attitude working in snow & freezing cold...love yur dedication & hard work!✅️👍👍👍😊
I’m sitting on a balcony of a cruise ship in the Virgin Islands watching an hour and a half video on digging a ditch. Life doesn’t get much more relaxing
So about 30 minutes in you are discussing the boulder, you may clear it further into that video, but since it's winter time sand you have lots of cold weather, I would suggest dragging the hammer drill over there and drilling lots of holes into it at your desired grade, then fill the holes with water and let expansion take care of it for you over the winter
A good grading bucket would make fast work of that. You should hire Andrew Camarata to take care of that big rock. He has a jack hammer for his big machine and I think for his small one too.
nice job.when you get the finished brook done a nice summer job for your boys have them take all those rocks you have their line the brook.i did one when I was a kid and I had a bast doing it.
Yeses. Straighten the ditch at the corner of the shop. And continue down stream, which you started to do I think. You'll loose some land, but the course of drainage will be straight on that long side, and you'll miss that huge boulder.
You could weld those metal forms using 3 at a time, into triangles & build yourself a ton of triangular pipping to use as colvet so instead of selling those forms that are missing the hardware anyway, use them up as covet pipe. You could make some up & see how well it would works on a small section. It would save tons of money just means you'd have to install some kind of inspection cover pretty much everytime it had a corne. I know that I'd enjoy that kind of content.
This is a MAJOR improvement to the property. I bet a few feet of snow, and a thaw in the spring will tighten all that up. Great job!! I'm completely ignorant about this stuff. I'm wondering why there was no bulldozer involved here. It seems a few passes with a dozer could have cut a notch in those big humps more efficiently than the excavator. And it could make quick work smoothing out the sides. I must be missing something. Also, could you rent, borrow, or steal a jackhammer attachment for a day or two? That could solve a lot of the issues, no?
Dozers are great but you can only push dirt from one place to another. Which in this case would have been straight into the next place I am working. Excavator can swing sideways and put the dirt to the side
I know you weren’t a huge fan of the stream ending up a bit all over the place, but I kind of like it. Feels more natural to me, especially once it’s all grown in I’m sure it’ll look great. And like you said, if you ever want the land back, you can just throw in culverts.
yea I guess I am not that opposed to it being curvy...just thought it was better for flow to be straight. but I think it will do just find being curvy...even under heavy rains
Some people want a little lazy river in their garden, you dug up a whole stream/ creek around your property. Looks bad when just dug out, but with some care this could be made to look real nice and serve its purpose :)
Yo jesse you may call this project 'sloppy' but strangely satisfying to me to watch it come to fruition man. You definitely got the patience in the face of adversity (rocks, water, and crap, having to dig deep in some areas) as well as the ability to stay on task for long hrs..definitely not forgetting your bro as hard-working as usual always pitching in.. another good one yo 👍
Think about what you can make out of these concrete molds. Make a fence out of them along the ditch that you dug. Make up the excavators and fence them off from the ditch. Or scrap it altogether. Or you can knock out the plywood from them and fill it with concrete, you will get concrete paths.
so if you cant go as deep as you'd like where there may be rock below, then carve that area as a detention area. As long as you can resume drop at the terminal side. It's a short compromise to one full length downslope and still achieves your purpose. Good Luck!
Jesse, what became of that first pond you guys put in? Not the one used for geothermal. You put on a liner and thought the kids would swim in it. It was a year or two before you started the house.
I mean i'm no expert or whatever but logically you had to start at the highest point and to the lowest point, than you don't have to dig as deep on the way down, and this prevents standing water. Anyway really love your videos, thank you!
It's a lot of work but the gradual grades to the ditch throughout your property will come out beautifully! Then spring into summer laying down some grass seed will look beautiful it's just a lot of work! It's probably a year or 2 process but you can pull it off! Great work!
On the concrete forms not sure on the make but the slots look like Symon but the holes look more like Wall-Ties not sure i've seen a set with both before but i only did concrete for a few years mostly basements
I watch a channel called Demolition Dave. He does all sorts of rock blasting, but in some areas he uses a chemical that expands and breaks the rock. It might be more expensive. You could try the very old technique of just drilling deep holes in the rock and letting water ice do the work. Or you could borrow a tool from Andrew.
It’s looking good twists and turns are far better for streams and rivers, it slows water down, if it’s a straight line water picks up speed, but it’s Down to you at the end of the day, take care
Good to hear about that waterfall. When you started developing this property it always seemed a bit swampy and I was wondering if you were in the low spot or if there was anything below you. The last few years we keep getting a lot of heavy rain storms leading to a lot of flooding.
Expect major washouts in the spring, especially at bends and steep slopes. You may be able to find riprap at a reasonable price. I would expect your pond to be even dirtier. Investigate Manning's equation for open channel flow and scouring velocity.
I would definitely like a 2nd part to this. Would love to see the ditch flowing in the spring when the melt hits.
Water runoff and management, the bane of ones land development! Your doing a good job Jesse, just glad you are tooled up!
I always enjoy your videos Jesse, thanks!
You have the best toys. Love your workshop. Looking forward to seeing the interior finished.
5 ⭐ video really enjoyed it and see you in the spring for part 2 . Awesome content as always
Well done Jesse. You converted a huge mess into the beginnings of a very nice property feature
Such a awesome video Jesse. Love the content brother. The way you think ahead and prepare is awesome. Even the little comments about the Animals and deer about the drainage ditch. Awesome character man. God Bless you and the family.
Please please do a part two and maybe even a part three. Great work. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Awesome vid Jesse! Loved seeing all the equipment at work, catch ya on the next one brother
The Muller canal is looking good. Neighbor will ask why his side doesn't look as good as yours, lol. Glad your doing a part 2. Stay safe.
Another truly enjoyable video, Jesse and incredibly large-scale job. You've already got great results, which go a long way to protect your property and workshop area.

That's gonna be a game changer next spring. Nice work.
What a gorgeous flat boulder at 1:15. Hope you find a good use for it. Also see some other nice flat boulders. congrats on getting the job done.👍👍👍
Great job Jesse as always. Tough work with rock , maybe see if Andrew will borrow you one of his hammers?

That is some man made meander . It looks so satisfying. Well done. ❤️❤️❤️👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Great video Jesse. Those boulders and rocks are a nuisance when you need to trench 🙈. Enjoyed watching and 👍🏼👍🏼
Hope the banks won't be too low for the sprong floodings, turning your property into a swamp...
Really looking for part two, great job!
👍👍👍
It's great watching your videos Jesse, can't wait for part two - South Africa.
Bit by bit is looking nicer and nicer but it takes time but overall is awesome video and definitely I wait for the part 2 video.👍
You had me worried at the beginning that you were going to leave those ditches straight cut.😂
Good jobs cleaning up the slopes.
On the ledge rock you hit. I would like to see you try and break it up by drilling holes and using water to freeze crack it. I assume the harder it is the better it will work. Should make good content too.

Tedious but great work. It's a vision in progress
❤❤❤❤
Your boys are gonna LOVE PLAYING around there now.
I’m sitting on a balcony of a cruise ship in the Virgin Islands watching an hour and a half video on digging a ditch. Life doesn’t get much more relaxing
And I'm sitting at the computer, designing furniture and watching this cool guy with his big excavator.))))
Great video Jesse. Water is my nemesis too. Always take water to where it’s no longer a problem/concern
Really nice work Jesse looks great
That’s a job well done. Nature will commission it when the melt water comes.
Take the big rocks and put them on the corners for the water hits the corner it'll help keep you from losing land.
Looks awesome Jesse and I would ask Dirt Perfect Mike Simmon about the forms
So about 30 minutes in you are discussing the boulder, you may clear it further into that video, but since it's winter time sand you have lots of cold weather, I would suggest dragging the hammer drill over there and drilling lots of holes into it at your desired grade, then fill the holes with water and let expansion take care of it for you over the winter
Andrew wouldn’t let a little bolder stop him from doing what he needed to do lol good luck bud keep working on it when weather permits 😁
Looking forward to seeing Muller's Storm Creek flowing next spring.
A good grading bucket would make fast work of that. You should hire Andrew Camarata to take care of that big rock. He has a jack hammer for his big machine and I think for his small one too.
Andrew Camarata is a great guy, I understand that they live next door. I saw Andrew bringing him logs.
Awesome looks great for being winter and freezing and snowy and everything else like that thanks for sharing q
nice job.when you get the finished brook done a nice summer job for your boys have them take all those rocks you have their line the brook.i did one when I was a kid and I had a bast doing it.
Was literally just thinking about your channel this morning wondering when you’d post a new video.
Been waiting patiently. Best of You Tube!

Well damn. Just saw the arial at the end. My idea is a lot more digging...
This “should” dry up the land on the south side of the garage and equipment yard, you did a pretty decent job smoothing out that section.
I would love to see how much water still goes to your building and the two metal containers during a big rain. Hope you video that for us.
Ahhhh i have to wait after class so i can watch. Thank you jesse for making my night.
The booms of the Crain.’s don’t have to be pointing towards the building do they ? You can always point them towards the new creek you just built
yea another viewer suggested putting that diagonally..that seems like a good idea
Twists, turns, pools and steep valleys are natural stream characteristics. Logs & rocks slowing the flow too. ❤❤❤
At 41 min 25sec life is water and water is life and they always find their path!
Great way to start the day! Thanks!
Another great video

Aaaaa, A Thursday Surprise! Here we go! Hanging out with Jesse! Cheers!;-)!
Yes rain water can be quite a problem hope this works out fore you well done
Please part 2, loved this video 🎉❤
You need to call it “Muller’s Creek” and become a part of local history.
Andrew has a machine with a couple heavy duty bits for rock.
Thanx for the Drop Jesse !
Part two would be very welcome Jesse 👍🏻🏴
a great way to start the evening 😀
Great video
Somehow none of Jesse's projects stars with a dead battery.
I know you weren’t a huge fan of the stream ending up a bit all over the place, but I kind of like it. Feels more natural to me, especially once it’s all grown in I’m sure it’ll look great. And like you said, if you ever want the land back, you can just throw in culverts.

@@jmuller86 fair enough! Flow probably would be better straight, but I’m sure that small deviation won’t be a huge problem. Great work either way!

Great video 👍 When it's your place you never waste time, what happened to that standing stone?
They might Gates forms but not sure. Good luck with your search.
That's a good job man good job

You might be able to get some free native stone/field stone from someone who is clearing a lot to help line those banks for erosion and appearance
ditch is safer for those 2 boys... well done
You started where I would have. Best to know what you're up against from the get-go.
You sure can move the dirt when using the large excavator !
Was that an old road between those rock walls? I've always been intrigued by the history of old structures. Great channel btw.
Yea that was an old logging trail
@@jmuller86 I bet those guys back then could only dream of an excavator...lol
Hell ya great video
Love that engine sound!

Now that you made that ditch, are you going to also use that fill to fill in the first pond by your entrance for more yard space?
I would but that pond is on the wetlands map so I cant really disturb it without permission
@@jmuller86 Wow, talk about over regulation. Thanks for the reply Jesse!
Great on a snowy day!
There is always Andrew. I know he's got a hammer that goes on one of his machines. :)
so if you cant go as deep as you'd like where there may be rock below, then carve that area as a detention area.

1:25:18 you can see it on the left side of the screen.
we use it sometimes when its hot out. I think I will be replacing that with an ICF natural swimming pool
Looking forward to part 2! Thanks Jesse for all of your postings and take care!
I mean i'm no expert or whatever but logically you had to start at the highest point and to the lowest point, than you don't have to dig as deep on the way down, and this prevents standing water. Anyway really love your videos, thank you!

I can see that the toothed bucket skid steer has a better time moving the spoils than the smooth-blade skid steer.

Suggestion when you happy with the slops maybe plant carnivores tree's for privacy screen from the road and erosion.
Great project, the payoff will be in the spring. Then you can see if you need to make any functional changes.
Expect major washouts in the spring, especially at bends and steep slopes.
You may be able to find riprap at a reasonable price.
I would expect your pond to be even dirtier. Investigate Manning's equation for open channel flow and scouring velocity.
If you could pipe from the main road to and past the workshop that would stop a lot of erosion. I know it would be expensive but it would be worth it.
