I kept the blessing the whole game, i didnt know what it did but having it didnt make me feel any different from a usual playthrough because im used to playing souls games with low vitality, but boy did i get smacked hard.
Love every video in this series, even the ending music is perfect! Would love to see Your girlfriend suffer through, i mean, play through Grime, it's a great 2D souls like.

I’m happy to see anyone enjoying DS2, my personal favorite (despite its many faults). It had a lot of viable build variety, probably the best until Elden Ring. And a wierd thing for me to fixate on, but I love lighting up dark place with torches. No lie, I love The Gutter.
Honestly, Ds2 still has the best build variety. It has Yorgh and Santier's spears, it has hybrid catalyst weapons, it has the Orma and Reeves greatshields. Hell, it even has a miracle casting chime that also functions as a fully functional shield. Elden Ring isn't just lacking a lot of these types of weapons, I personally believe it has even less variety than Ds3 as I'm not seeing any hybrid catalyst weapons in ER. A bit of a shame really. I'd say the only type of weapon that ER one ups Ds2 in is the variety of torches.
I agree ds2 is a really fun game but I can't forgive you for saying you love the gutter I don't think I hated an area in ds2 more than the gutter (except for maybe the frigid outskirts)
Gutter ain't that bad, I agree. I absolutely hate Shrine of Amana though. The accursed place always forces me back to get a bow, upgrade it, and a truckload worth of arrows
@@crashedforeigncar you only need the bow to lure the archdrakes at the end of the second area, everything else you can either just run up to and hit or just go around.

The love I have for this series is UNMATCHED!! I’ve never been in a position to have any sort of console besides a Wii and my Switch, so I’ve always wanted to have this sort of experience with someone - sharing the experience of playing a game together :,)
It's so refreshing to see a Dark Souls 2 video that is pretty much entirely positive. I've always considered most of the complaints about the game to be weak and mainly based in the disappointment DS1 fans felt when the sequel was different.

I wanted to give up on this game when I first played it but many people told me not to so I kept watching videos and tutorials since am new to souls games and now I have 7 hours in the game and I can already see why everyone likes it
I'm that obsessed with fashion in games too. I spend most of my time in Dragon's Dogma earning money for clothes as well as farming for rare clothing from certain chests and locations. (in that game, loot chests will respawn random contents from their assigned loot group every 4 to 10 in-game days. So while trying to get some specific clothing from particular chests, I'll place a teleportation crystal nearby, loot the chest, teleport back to town or camp, sleep for days, teleport back to the chest and loot again.)
This is one of the most entertaining things I've seen. Honestly, there is one game I would love to see her play, Darkwood. Darkwood is one of my all time favs and is the most terrifying game I have ever played (and I've played silent hill 2, resident evil 7,2,3,8, subnautica, dying light 1, the forest), nothing comes close to how scared I was playing darkwood and I loved every second of it.
The WTF after reaching the Iron Keep (5:35) was cathartic for me. Having a spatial memory is really useful in real life, so when this game doesn't respect it, it hurts in a bad way (even for a game in the Dark Souls series... Or specially because of it). Girlfriend is such a great woman... (Sigh).
I distinctly remember the rapier and the Blue/Black knight halberds being a godsend in this game. It was my first souls game, and I had no internet connection as my roommate and I took MONTHS to figure it out. But the pokey poke over a shield combo is really helpful as a new player in all those tight hallways.
I have to agree with your GF on the lifegem business in DS2; estus is so slow in that game, and compared to lifegems which allow you to move and heal over time, not to mention are spammable and cheap... yeah, my no estus run for DS2 was actually easier than most of my normal, unrestricted runs X3
is there a God Eater 3 date night in the works ? the GE series is like a faster paced monster hunter you build your weapon out of 3 main components (your melee, shield, and gun the weapon can change from one to the other) and some aux pieces def and skills are all based on what your weapon has (clothes are purely cosmetic, and the further you progress in the game the more stuff you unlock to make) I think girlfriend would fall in love with the buster blade (introduced in ge1 think clouds blade), boost hammer (introduced in ge2 its a rocket powered hammer), or heavy moon (introduced in ge3 giant crescent blade that can transform into an ax) since she loves her heavy weapons
Dark Souls 2 is my favorite in the series, and I suddenly started binging it again recently. I'm glad she enjoyed it. So many people crap on the game for the wrong reasons.
for me personally it has the greatest visual design and a lot of great ideas got implement. but sadly for each great implemented idea there where like 2 bad ones. also the chunky clunkyness of that game turns a lot of people off. i dont mind it too much but the game definitely feels the most ...uh....unique movementwise compared to the other games. for me its a solid 7.5/10 unpopular opinion: i like ds2 better than ds1
@@customizablemilk353 I didn't really enjoy DS1 at all. After I 100%'ed it, I ignored the series for 15 years. Also, tried getting my friend into the series and he quit at the Capra Demon fight, which is only like 2 hours in. I could probably go back and trash the game now, but what i didn't like about DS1 and DS3 (which is basically a clone), is that you can easily permanently fail questlines, just by advancing, and the only way to fix it is in NG+ and following a guide. That doesn't happen in DS2.
Personally, Dark Souls 2 (not SOTFS) was my first souls game, and my god it hit me like a freight train, as unbeknownst to me, I had walked into the clunkiest, most enemy filled, beginner unfriendly game in the series. For Girl (or whatever you want to be called by the comments, I still can't figure it out), it's good to see that you didn't share my experience, and I'm glad you enjoyed this one, this game was by far the one I was most worried about you getting frustrated at. And for both of you, congratulations on surpassing 20k in this past week. Ironic that it would be during the week of this video you would surpass that milestone considering your very first post was on ds1. I hope that you will continue to grow and receive recognition for the amazing content that you make.
