I've always dreamed of seeing a Suffolk Punch in person. This was interesting. Thank you!

Well done for calling people on having over weight horses, even heavy horses shouldn't be obese

They can founder, easily. Worse if they're heavy breeds.

I can't guess, what breed is Roly?

+xShadowxPhoenix He's by a Connemara stallion out of an Irish Draft mare. Although the ID was more the old-fashioned type rather than the lighter sports horse type that is seen nowadays.

barryhook2 Oh okay cool, I knew he had some draft in him he's got the feet fluffs to go with his size

+xShadowxPhoenix Yes he has a good deal of bone too. We do clip him out all over every now and again just to keep on top of his hair; being grey (and seeing as he loves to roll...) he's also prone to getting really dirty. A few years ago we clipped him out all over and drove him in a team with 3 other Lipizzaners - nobody noticed he was a different shape/breed!!

i like a bit of bone i think my ideal horse would be a medium build.

Whoa, that is one big bog spavin! And yes, he's 'way too heavy.

A lot of these showing folks ovefeed in order to cover some minor defcts, but hopefully a judge would pass comment on this one, he is too fat to work, and with those hocks you wan him as light as possible.
The collar sits very high on the neck to me, I tend to think they were designed for horses to pull "in to the collar" for ploughing, at a walk, rather than roadwork, where a breast collar might be easier on the horse?
