What a sad place San Francisco has become with the no incarceration policy, the homeless and criminals free to do what they want. That food court used to be standing room only.
Thank you and keep doing this videos ! I work relatively close by the mall but no longer go there for lunch(I used to at least once a week pre covid world) since covid and all the crime going on I no longer venture much out of the office during lunch as before :( it is bittersweet to see this , but keep doing this type of videos :) your union square one was sad to watch, so many closures smh
Hey there again, Jermaine. I'm getting plenty of nostalgia from seeing the Westfield Mall since I haven't been there in over two years. I remember browsing through the first two floors and the food court throughout the late 2000's and 2010's. I often tried free samples from different restaurants that passed them out in the afternoons. Because the subway was so close by, the mall was a great way to pass the time before going home or to the main library. Shame that I also have bad memories here because my hostile ex-classmates from CCSF were seen browsing in the mall, too.
hey, just found your channel i appreciate showing us around i have a lot of good past memories , i havent been to san francisco in a long time, years, because of the decline in the city, hopefully things will clean up.
Anchor store Nordstrom's is soon to leave... 6 months later this will be a ghost town. I remember going to the opening weekend back in 1988. It was booming for years later. #politics (bad politics have killed SF).
Last time I was there was 20 years ago. The stores are actually much better now. I like that the mall is built up instead of a mile wide like most suburban malls.
Not a positive sign that there are empty sections of the mall (w no stores open). That has a tendency to spread like wildfire and before you know it, the whole thing is empty.
I've mainly gone there to grab some food downstairs. I remember there was a Whole Foods down there. The last time I went, I went there just to go to Whole Foods to pick up some stuff, but it was no longer there. :/
Fun story about Westfield; back in like 04-05, I was downstairs on the side that leads into Powell St station when some dude fell onto the stainless steel espresso machine (idk if that coffee stand is still there) from somewhere above. Turns out he jumped from the second floor! Thats nothing though; dude got up, ran back up to the 2nd floor and did it again, this time landing on some old lady. My Superdry store used to be there, and I bought a power bank from Tumi back in 2006 and it still works like a champ!
@@saharapengu dude had to be restrained by SFPD because meth. Old lady was taken away in an ambulance, Im sure homeboy was too...he was fkt up real bad.
When the schools are out for the holidays (probably next weekend) the malls will be packed until the day after New Years. Theft will probably increase a week or two before Christmas.
I used to live in SF back in the mid 80’s till 98. This mall was Crowded even during the weekdays, I remember taking the muni K or M line and getting off the Powell Street Station exit and the mall was just right there.
Police have finally listened to the locals that live around ..Union Square ,financial district and Nob Hill they have police blockades after 10pm maybe b4 on certain streets so you can’t drive through..it’s scary but needed until February
The food court on the lower level helps contain the contamination to the first level. If you are on the top level the contamination would most likely spread to the lower levels.
The spot behind Pressed Juicery was a café. I loved their almond cake, but they were also very expensive. That Walgreens closed pre-p@ndemic. Across from that I see the Sur la Table store has closed. The Chinese restaurant upstairs was owned by chef Martin Yan - M.Y. China. Guess when I go back to this mall, I won't be looking for much. 😩 Btw, your videos are great Jermaine.
My favorite place to eat was that European cafe kiosk at the bottom of the escalators near the Panda Express. They had sandwiches, salads, pastries, espresso, etc. They're gone now.
9:28 That "No Dining" sign is a shame because that would be a great place to sit while eating. It seems it's just not worthwhile for them to have a mall employee up there checking vaccines & negative covid tests.
I am deeply sorry for your loss of being able to eat your bologna sandwiches on the top floor of Westfield Mall. I hope you find another spot for you to enjoy your bologna sandwiches in peace.
Technology has made it very easy to make money. The online market is full of lucrativeness and passive income. I make huge profits on my investment since I started trading the online market with Mrs Julie Mayar
I invest with Mrs Mayar too, she charges a 20% commission on profit made after every trading session and that's fair compared to the effort she puts in to make huge profit ss
@@901cali it’s not only what you said though it was just how you sounded it tells a lot LOL even if you would have said some hood niggas it would have been better. You just sounded so uncomfortable describing them bruh.

You can’t sugarcoat life . SF hasn’t been the same . SF is too expensive even for the local ones .
WOW! SF and the mall looks EMPTY. The last time I was in SF and that mall, it was CROWDED ( before 2020)
Thank you and keep doing this videos !

There used to be a fru fru market/ (grocery store) near the food court as well, they had a Poke bar.
I remember that market. The Ghirardelli shop right across from it is closed now too. :-(

👋🎄Hey Jermaine..😁 Great video. Very Empty mall. Thanks for sharing.. Cheers..👍👌🙏💪🍁🎄🎄🇬🇧
Wow, beautiful Mall, I remember this was a long time ago The Emporium! Crazy times! Thanks 🙏🏼 Jermaine 🎄
I'm so glad you made this video. Now I see that it is still worth going to the Westfield Mall.
I can't believe that the mall has not decorated at all for the holidays . They must not expect any tourists to holiday shop.

That was great. Not as bad as I thought. Completely forgot about the H&M Store. There used to be a grocery store next to the food court.

Thank you for making this video my man!! I was wondering about the mall
God everything looks so sad and lonely. What happened to one of the most exciting and expensive cities in America !
Maybe Pelosi will open up her own ice cream shop at the mall lol n

I have not been to the mall for a really long time. I should go down there and look around. Maybe next weekend
Another place I helped build in 2004-05
Times have changed Major!
Not really. That mall had been dying since 2012. It's the same with every mall across America though.

I remember kids openly smoking blunts in the mall and then getting man-handled by the mall security.

Bro did you know that place directly across the street at the Powell station was a Walgreens. And the burger king up the street was a McDonald's ..
I moved out in 1991 and lived downtown and had no idea we had a damn mall. That's crazy.

Pasquale's in the inner Sunset Dist and Golden Boy Pizza in North Beach was pretty awesome too 👍

I wished you would of turned your camera up so Iwe could see the top of that ceiling with the tree. Why would you miss that? Damn.

People will be kicking themselves in few weeks if they miss the opportunity to buy and invest in Crypto as it's retracing.
Investing in cryptocurrency is one of the best chance of making money 💸
I wanted to trade crypto but got confused by the fluctuations in price.
Shill harder. Crypto is a ponzi based on fiat. Nothing that drops 20% overnight is a "good store of value".
That won't bother you if you trade with a professional like Mr Paul Raymond.
I heard his strategies are really good.
