    Would you shoot weddings with the GFX 100 ii?

      With GFX 50-3 (when it comes, yes.)

      I Would Only Shoot Weddings With The GFX 100 II, And The ProMediaGear Boomerang Flash Bracket.
      If You're Not Using The Boomerang Bracket, You And ProMediaGear Are Both Losing Money . . .

      I want one so bad! I'd use it for the super bright sunny day ceremonies for its amazing dynamic range, and for the couple portraits part. I have a gfx 50sii and I love it, but it would not be efficient for wedding days

      Have just shot a wedding with the GFX 100 ii just recently. Image quality was really amazing! I used the auto-focus for all all my shots. I did miss some but I was happy with most of my shots. For the quick action shots I probably should of switched off the auto eye focus and changed to single shot. The GFX 100 ii was my main camera where I used the 110mm f/2.0 and the 45mm f/2.8. My second camera I used the GFX 50-R with the 23mm f/4.0 for the wide angle shots.

    I asked myself... do the clients see that? They want nice pictures, they don't care about the gear. 😏 ...but we 😄

    • @jbivphotography

      Yep. Clients really won't be able to tell the difference. But OMG do I see the difference. But at the end of the day if I do fully upgrade to the GFX it wouldn't be for the clients. Mainly for my own quality and performance of the day.

    I have questions.
    - Have you tried adapted Canon EF or Nikon F lenses? There are good wide angle fast primes that can work on the GFX, but i don't know about the AF reliability when adapted. Some of them cover all the 44x33 GFX sensor.
    - Why did you choose Fuji and not Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic, etc?

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I haven't had a chance to adapt any lenses yet but I'm wondering the same thing you are. I'm thinking about grabbing an adapter that has autofocus to see how it works out. Maybe I'll make a video on it.

    I love my GFX100 II and the new GF55 as well as the good old GF110mm but I've been back to using the X-T5 with the new 23/56 for its speed for a great many situations.
    Don't get me wrong, the GFX100 II is faster than the GFX100S and a great camera but damn, the X-T5 is so, so much faster. I honestly couldn't believe my eyes after using GFX exclusively for a few weeks.
    That being said, it's great to rock both systems and also a huge dilemma as to which system to bring (especially for traveling).
    First world problem of course ;)

    The actual maths on the focal lengths is the 55 becomes a 55 and the 80 becomes an 80. There is no crop factor applied to the focal length/fov when you use the 35 crop mode.

    You’re bang on the money for f4 maximum aperture. I think they’ll come out with a newer generation of zooms at 2.8, but since aperture is a ratio between focal length and aperture size, I’d doubt we’d be able to see a 24-70 2.8 equivalent that wouldn’t be massive. That’s the thing! The GFX is just a bit light starved - it needs the light of the 2.8. I’ll never get why Fuji didn’t put an LM in their 55/80 - the 80’s stepper is just s l o w man. Like a lens right out of the 2000s.

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LMs in the 55 and 80 would be a GAME changer. Those lenses would be BEASTY if they had them. Maybe it would have made the lenses to large?

    • @bathvader
      @bathvader ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jbivphotography I don't know man...feels like a cost issue. You should see the size of the Canon USMs on their L lenses - absolutely tiny! Honestly I was just gonna pick up a 45-100 just for the LM but...eh, I don't shoot weddings. I know if Fuji came out with an 80mm LM it's never gonna leave your GFX body, might as well get a second body, we know you want to!

    Hey John! For wide angle w fast aperture GFX lenses, I adapted Canon/EF lenses w a Fringer Pro EFxGF AF adapter. The autofocus works as fast as native GFX since many EF lenses have faster motors than GF lenses-I hope that’s helpful. Really enjoying your channel btw✨

    • @jbivphotography
      @jbivphotography  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How do you feel that works for you? I was actually considering it. If I could get slightly faster AF and also more "true" focal lengths with faster apertures I might actually do it. Then I could comfortably fully switch to the GFX 100 ii.

    • @YOUAREMYKIN

      @@jbivphotography So the FringerPro EF/GFX adapter combo, acquires AF-Single focus faster than all my GF lenses: GF50, GF63, GF80. In tracking AF-C mode, it's about the same, at times better than the GF63! Good luck

    I wanted to ask you a few questions I'm a beginner wedding photographer I have a Sony a6400, but it doesn’t suit me because it’s cropped and isn’t very suitable for such tasks, and I want to change it to fujifilm, namely xs 20. What can you say about this, can I get excellent results with a Fuji crop camera (at a wedding) And I like to shoot with a screen and not with a video finder, can I always shoot like this with a Fuji? If you answer I will be grateful (very, very)

    The math on 35mm mode:
    A 55mm becomes a… [drumroll] …55mm
    An 80mm becomes an … 80mm.
    (because it's 35mm)

  • @08WaVeLiNePeArLtC
    @08WaVeLiNePeArLtC ปีที่แล้ว

    I currently shoot with the 55 on the 100s and the 80/110 on my 100. The images have something special/magical happening with the gfx bodies. My second photographer shoots with an xh2 and xh2s and then I have my xh2 for wider shots (mainly dancing) the 45 gets the job done but mine dropped so there’s that lol I would love a faster wide prime on the gfx for sure. Are you rocking three cameras with the hold fast set up or does the xt5 stay in the camera bag until necessary?

Especially from what I see in other reviews that it feels like an old DSLR type of camera with the size and weight. I've heard you praise Fuji for their small size and weight and great performance in previous videos. Again I could be wrong... Forgive me, that's just my observation. There are always workarounds to any and all cameras, as long as it makes you happy.
