Very true. Honestly, I think they were smart to end the reboot series when they did. In my opinion, the original series kind of overstayed its welcome. Also, the series finale of the original was rather lackluster. It felt like they left things up in the air. The finale for the reboot felt much more satisfying. It had closure, which the original series was missing. Again, just my opinion.
They were brilliant how they did this reboot. They kept the barebone basics of the original series, yet used clever changes to make it fresh and fun. The actors and actresses have awesome chemistry. What's not to love?

I like this new version, of course the producers knew they were playing with fire when they decided to re-do a much loved classic TV show instead of creating something new but for the generation that had not grown up on the original it will be a hit. The action scenes are very real looking and exciting, and Alex has such natural charm he owns whatever role he's in, plus he doesn't have to hide his tattoos.

It was ok but it didn't feel the same season 8 and 9 are my least favorite. They didn't even have a good ending on 9 knowing that alex and scott probably will not be in the next season, if there is one.

I think what people fail to understand is that Remakes are inherently going to be different then the original. You have to treat it as a separate entity in itself, With ties to the past. Just sit back and enjoy the show
The difficult part of this version for those living in the islands is that there are no "local" guys who are regulars. The original series included Kam Fong, Zulu, Al Harrington, Herman Wedemeyer. I'm willing to give this series a chance though, and I hope it succeeds.
Interesting. I like both of these actors so I'll have a go at watching it when if comes on. Maybe those who don't like the concept of a remake should just not watch it instead of bitching about it. Just a thought....
