All cities are challenged by the state to create more housing as California pushes for more housing. I believe city council & the planning commission makes decisions on where/when development takes place while weighing considerations. Your voice may be valuable to them.

I agree with you about the overhead air traffic. It can be a bit much. Another Con is the increase in gang activity, crime and drugs. Also, a lot of folks don't maintain their properties well. While on the other hand, there are more buildings going up. That could be a good thing. There are still wonderful attractions here. We have Orange Park, Centennial Trail, the Wind Harp. I happen to enjoy the occasional fog. The climate is pleasant but it's been chilly lately. It's been getting down in the 40s at night. The lowest it's been so far this year was 36°F.

Good ol’ South City. Back in the day we called it Blue Collar Paradise because you could get a decent home in the Bay Area on a modest budget. Being so close to SF meant there’s always fun stuff to do and places to see, but it still had that small town America charm.
My folks bought their first house for a little under $100k in the late 80’s. It was a cute little 2 bed 1 bath that we outgrew as a family. Recently it sold for $1.2M and it’s tiny. Current Bay Area home prices are getting ridiculous. Far too expensive. I sure do miss living there though.

We love everything about it except there doesn't seem to be any decent schools around. It fell out of the San Mateo High district. Thoughts?

relatively speaking, there are better schools in the county. it is still one of the more afforable parts of the peninsula. pros and cons for sure!
