Yes, we sign the paintings, if the original painting have signature by the artist. There is a common stereotype, that should not be put artist's signatures on reproductions. Not true. The signature in most of the paintings is an important part of the composition (as example van Eyck's sign in "The Arnolfini Portrait), so we add the artist signature if the original painting have.
Because they use a projector to project the image first on the canvas...than they go over it with a pencil...its not freehand....still the painting itself is 100% handwork...a great painter still
