I remember seeing Blue Dragon for sale at Walmart back when it was released, and the only reason I didn't buy it (as a massive Dragon Quest and RPG fan) was because they were selling it for $90! I still don't know why, because it had only released the year before. I price checked it with the lady working there as well, and ended up using my allowance for Dragon Quest IX instead, which was a good choice imo
Great list! I'm a DS rpg collector and have many of these titles. Missing Solatorobo, Black Sigil (which many reviewers diss it), Blue Dragon and Infinite Space.

*Knights in the Nightmare.* Pretty sure that was the game I spent most hours in my life. Took around 2 hours to go through tutorial, still took more than 2 loops(both campaigns) to finally understand how the game works. 3rd, 4th loop on Nightmare difficulty was definitely a tough journey but was fun. Even tried weird stuff like raising L.I/C.Is of characters I loved and used most - with mediocre stats - up to around 80~90s. Furthermore edited a LOT of Pause Talk database in Japanese Wiki.(DHE world guidance book did NOT have non-Knight Pause talk data) I know it was ported to PSP and eventually remastered in modern systems, though I still prefer playing through DS Touch Screen. Thank god modern ports do not have that much of extra contents.
i have high hopes that the sonic team finally make a new sonic rpg game for modern home consoles as it has so much so potential and plus the sonic team are very interested in making a sonic rpg for home consoles.
I have a 2DS XL I rarely ever played with 3 DS games in the closet I didn’t pay mind to from a yard sale (cause why would I want to play older games, I thought). I’m watching this and one name sounds familiar. The games are Bakugan, Ben 10 Vigilax, and Solotorobo.
Black Sigil has an infamous flaw in its encounter rate. Do yourself a favor and grab the Reasonable Encounter Rate hack. Reduces encounter rate and increases xp to offset the difference. Man, Sting had a trilogy of the most ambitious games I've ever seen. Def need to check out Dark Brotherhood sometime, the timed combat looks like fun.
Probably the biggest omission by this point is Nostalgia - that definitely was a fun RPG on the DS that keeps getting forgotten. Infinite Space on this list is probably the one I had the best time with, still in my alltime top 10 - Strange Journey is great, but with it getting a 3DS port, I wouldn't exactly call it forgotten (Sonic Chronicles was deservedly forgotten though - man, what a bad game that was). Beyond that, nice to see Black Sigil getting a mention, overall a nice time, even if the encounter rate in that one was absolutely atrocious.
Strange Journey is an outstanding dungeon crawler. Incredible atmosphere, original setting, very fun mechanics. The Mana game and Black Sigil were disappointing however.
No shoutouts today? I guess he was in a hurry. Good video as always. Lots of - as the title suggests - hidden and forgotten stuff. The DS had an amazing library.
Damn ff 4 lights was such wasted potential. The game looks incredible, set pieces were phenomenal, the battle system was it greatest peak and fail because they went for quabtity over quality and then the whole class system gets boring fast when applied to combat... Still good tho
@@Chelaxim BD is pretty good, yes. But for the title on DS, my money was all on FF when I got that game, when playing and exploring... Then the grind came
A mostly accurate list, but I disagree with 4HoL and SMT Strange Journey being on the list, personally. The former being the progenitor of Bravely Default and the latter being one of the best Megaten games, despite being largely replaced by its 3DS enhanced port, hardly constitute a forgotten RPG. That said, it's true both Black Sigil and Infinite Space are both brilliant but flawed, and deserve remakes.
The wizard of oz game had the unfortunate of having the controls attached to one of the worst ideas the touch screen had. Sorry but the game is amazing but I rather have a mod that makes the touch scroll ball optional
The Sonic game had a lot of potential and can be fun for sure.. However, I'd never play it seriously based solely on the fact that it was intended to have multiple sequels and thus, the story is never completed.. Can't justify time spent on something that can't end..

FF four heroes of light is a bad game, I like the crown system is ok and the graphics are great for a rpg but the combat is simply bad, mobs are easy or broken, they can just KO all of the heroes in the first turn if you're not over lvl and lost hours if you forget to save every time you can.
