The company heros box might be a good option. Since you get a leader which you can build with a power fist and plasma pistol, 1 marine with a unique heavy bolter, and the other 3 marines could be proxies for your sergeants.
I did this. I'm using the power sword and pistol operative as my assault sgt. The bionic fist man is my gunner. I'm working to convert the champion to carry a heavy chainsword. Then I just have some normal assault intercessors for the grenadier and warriors.
@@CanYouRollaCrit no experimentation allowed, I already have the models painted and they're too pretty to risk doing any structural work on them, plus World Eaters/Khorne berserkers aren't big fans of anything that doesn't come with a chain sword or chain axe so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This looks so awesome, as an elite player and someone who enjoyed at times to play Intercession this is like a wet dream. Im kind of nervous about the phobos changes tho. Im gonna check the other video with all factions now. Thank you for all the hard work your doing!
I think the heavy gunner on Gallowdark is going to be amazing. If he carries the portable shield for the 2+, or use the stealthy tactic for the two auto retains, and uses his sweeping profile for the lethal 5+ because of torrent with the sharpshooter chapter tactic for severe. He will become a literal tank. Combine this with your grenadier, gunner, and normal intercessors with auto rifles and you have a wild team.
I can't wait to see your opinion on this. Personally I find the changes to Stalker Bolt Rifle to be the best thing from the new set, alongside the new operatives...even if they're tempting me to buy older boxes
Well, I just glued my Captain with Fist+Plasma out of Company Heroes box, got my Eliminetor squad with Bolt Rifles up for paining as well as squad of chunky Intercessors so I know what I'll be doing tomorrow... Just hope that no one will complain about my Sergeants... Intercessor has Fist+Auto Bolt and Assault - Plasma+Hammer but so far no one did, at least they are very well distinguishable from the rest. Problem is my Assault Grenadier, which I haven't choose to do... (forgot to do but shhhhh:P) Anyway, I like this team already. Thanks for review! 👍
Sad that 'Combat Knives' are no longer an equipment choice, to make shooting Intercessors into more multi-role, but the new 'Purity Seals' seem really good. I guess it makes sense for game balance to get rid of the knives, so that you have to make a choice between a melee geared team or range optimal team. If you could be both, the team would be too good.
The intercessor sergeant, (the shooty one) is definitely underrated. Free devastator doctrine is powerful, the stalker bolt rifle is more flexible and less of a let down than the plasma, and he has a power weapon. A beast.
Do you plan to review kasrkin or vet guard? I looked over their rules and the kasrkin and guard both look more fun this edition, they kinda did what you’ve been suggesting in your vids with the kasrkin orders. I thought of some strats and combos with them, but it’d be nice to hear an actual pro player’s opinions 😆
I'm painting my last mini for an Intercession team, so relieved AoD are more or less the same with a couple more guys. Gives me a chance to paint up an Eliminator
So I saw in another thread, between the two board games at target you get 6 marines (5 adventure + 1 titus) that could slot in as this kill team fairly easily.
I appreciate Primaris Marines having the same statline as Chaos Marines. Giving them the same stats makes it easy to run a team of firstborn marines without it feeling wrong. As someone who deeply hates Primaris Marines, this is good for me. The only problem is the heavy weapons guy having more wounds, but whatever. The weapon choices are pretty lame too but oh well.
@CanYouRollaCrit Not if he is a firstborn devestator. Maybe you could sub in a Terminator with a Storm Bolter and just use the same profile, idk. I'll probably just run a regular devestator just say he ate his veggies. Anything but gravis armor, I dispise gravis armor. I really wish there weren't so many bolter variants. I miss flamers, plasma guns, and combi weapons. My poor friend who plays Salamanders is destroyed.
I’m building this team for my friend and I started a couple weeks ago before I knew about this team getting made so I rebased a sniper to be on 32mm and now I guess I gotta put him back on 40mm
purity seal: -"once per TP": it means this equipment can be use only one time in the TP -"when a": it means that only one operative can use it in the TP so the purity seals can be used one time per TP and only by one operative?
In the new edition, most snipers ended up with concealed position. But snipers like the eliminator in angels of death can stay in conceal all day long and never be shot from some positions. Specifically on vulkos at the top of the ruins, there isn't enough space to charge him there and fight, but with the new vantage rules, the floor also gives cover, and there is light cover in front. So how would you shoot him? Some teams don't have access to seek light or seek. Is it just an invincible sniper getting damage for free every turning point? This is especially problematic because eliminators can stand in a way to prevent others from climbing up since they have 32mm bases.
Broken rule, this team has been buffed way too much, invincible sniper, no neg modifier to overwatch/retaliation, 3 objectives, lots of heavy weapons now and no real nerfs.
A little mad I made all of my warriors with Autobolt Rifles. I think some arms are gonna get ripped off when I get home. Also I feel like their ranged options really outclass their melee now? There's probably gonna be a lot of instances of Assault Intercessors just running up and shooting their heavy bolt pistol twice instead of trying to figure out risky charge angles. Especially with pistols now having 8" of range.
Is it me or is the Sniper absolutely fucking busted? So ridiculously versatile with Silent attacks with Blast, Devastating and Seek Light+Saturate, can also move around and shoot, and a 3+ save? For comparison, the Yaegir Riflekyn's rifle matches the numbers of the Mortis profile, except the Yaegir is full Heavy instead of Dash, and the profile can only be used the first time the Riflekyn shoots each game, after which he must be on Engage to shoot.
@CanYouRollaCrit I'd have to decide on how to do the Phobos non-eliminator. I'd guess he'd have the bolt carbine as his weapon, a close combat weapon, and the grav shoot ability which might allow him to deploy within six inches of the drop zone maybe? Or give him reiver tactics and apply shock to his heavy option for the bolt carbine.
I'm new to KT. I just read the Angels of Death rules, the new starter set doesn't seem to be enough to build a Kill Team right? Since you need 1 Commander and 5 Operatives?
@27:24 "If they are on engage one of them can do do 2 counter actions" Is this something different from the "wrsth of vengeance" ploy? Because i didnt see anything about being able to only use it once and it doesnt say you have to be on engage? Unless i just missed which is possible because im a horrible reader xD Thanks for the content btw, love all your vids ❤
Okay okay, hear me out... Captain = Custodian shield-captain with a plasma spear (I know it exists... maybe) Heavy int = Bolter custodian Sniper = inquisitor assassin? Assault = SoS sword Intercessor = SoS bolter
I’m still confused on how you buy this team? Are we still expecting a box set or is games workshop expecting the flagship army killteam to be the least accessible? No way they expect you to hunt down the Justian models or casually buy three units to extract six models.
New player here, something I'm slightly confused about is are all kill teams getting a box set like Nemesis Claw? I was originally trying to figure out how to build up a hunterclade kill team which is how I found out about the "2 box" teams. Are these factions getting 1 box sets too?
Just a box of assault intercessors with the right chapter tactics and aggressive playstyle should be pretty good, I'd reccomend that to expand into shooty intercessors you should buy pairs of arms online for cheap to attatch to the running bodies, that way you don't need to buy another box. As for the Eliminator or Heavy Intercessor, you're gonna have to look for through the second hand market aswell, but I assume that it won't be particularly cheap
