They might be a bit more Cyclone proof (Hurricane or Typhoon whatever they call it there) pretty cheap to build also, Samar gets smacked pretty hard by old Mother Nature which is a shame, it looks beautiful there, just watch out for those Waray girls, their pretty intense.
Nice, been keen to see what the surfing is like there in Samar, years ago I heard of a couple of scattered Aussies used to surf there occasionally and gave it big ups, looks like a slow day for waves but those boys were pretty impressed by usual conditions there. Sorta lacking the big sharks we get in oz to apparently but my old man spoke of a huge Great White Shark the sailors called George that followed the Aircraft Carrier Sydney from off the heads of Sydney harbor all the way the Northern Philippines where he dropped off as they entered the South China Sea (troop transport for Australian forces heading to Vietnam 1967) and picked the Carrier back up as they were heading back to Australia and followed them all the way back to Sydney, he would swim under the garbage chute all the way so yeah maybe there are some big sharks there somewhere?

Tim, I've lived in Pennsylvania all of my life and have never seen the ocean except on TV. Now that I am retired I'm considering a trip to the PH. Which beach in the PH in your opinion has the most beautiful sand and water for my first ever in my life "day at the beach"? Some info: I swam competitively and was a lifeguard in high-school so rip currents aren't a concern I don't want to surf Money isn't an issue so an expensive resort is not an problem I don't care about nightlife or western amenities I value your recommendation. I lived in Pennsylvania in Asheville which by Altoona in the Allegheny Mountains we were pretty close to the Conrail line I think? I know there are nice beaches on east side of Cebu or Mindanao but, not sure which are best.....look for those white sand beaches
Lived around Franklin, Oil City, Pittsburgh. Was stationed in Illinois, Missouri and South Dakota while in the service so that didn't help either.@@CraigGoldsberry-vx7re
