    I've spent years living and riding in Tucson. This is my favorite road ride in the area.
    Pro tip: there's a dirt trail that bisects the SNPE (Saguaro Ntnl Prk East) loop; it's perfect for a gravel bike.
    2 more great road rides are 1) Mt Lemmon and 2) Gates Pass Road

    Great video. I live 3.5 miles from the park and ride it frequently. Ben’s Bikes and Saguaro Corners Restaurant put on a full moon ride through the park every month, weather permitting. No lights allowed. It’s awesome! Good job on the backside climb too.

      It's a National Park though, the annual pass let's you into any National Park in the country for an entire year. Definitely a bargain for the outdoor enthusiast.

      @@WildOutdoorLiving no it just a Saguaro National Park Annual Pass, which costs $45/yr instead of $15/week but doesnt let you in any other national park!

    Hi from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
    Really enjoy your channel guys.
    Just noticed the smaller round leafed cactus. We have some of those here, introduced I believe. We know it as Prickly Pear, not sure if that it is called there?
    Not many any more, but I remember it was in plague proportions here when I was a kid, maybe 45 years ago. You could hardly walk through a paddock here as it was so thick.
    Pretty sure they then introduced a beetle called "Cactoblastis" that got rid of it quite quickly. Only see a bit in a few gardens now.
    Thanks again for your videos.
    Cheers, Brad.

    Love your videos, will be in Tucson next month so this was timely. I have a big question for you guys: I'm ready for a new bike and as a long time rider of nice steel frames I'm wondering if you you still have your (carbon?) salsa bikes (warbirds/cutthroats??) Looks like you mainly ride your steel bikes these days and I'm wondering if it's because you like them better? I'm flirting with the idea of trying one of those lightweight bikes but having never ridden one lack a frame of reference. Thanks, Tom

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The steel bikes are heavier but they have a nice compliance to them. Also, feel better about leaving them parked outside when doing errands.

  • @GMoneyLove
    @GMoneyLove 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    What great views! However, I'm all for supporting the National Parks, but $15 for a bike? If you lived out here I'd say the annual pass would be a bargain.

    • @PathLessPedaledTV
      @PathLessPedaledTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It sucks but National Parks are underfunded. Would rather pay then see it disappear.

    • @SEZ66
      @SEZ66 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, the annual pass is good for all the national parks and most federal recreational land. One of my favorite benefits of being in the military is a free annual pass

    • @GMoneyLove
      @GMoneyLove 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PathLessPedaledTV No, I agree they are. $15 just seems a bit steep for a bike leaving no carbon footprint, taking almost no space on the road etc. Oh well.

    • @GMoneyLove
      @GMoneyLove 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SEZ66 Yes, I bought an annual pass after going to ride in a local park. I wish they offered the same benefit to civ Feds like me. (ps- thanks for your service!)

      @leonwebster4296 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      As an old person, we got the geezer pass many years ago. I think it is now $80.00 for a life time pass. But like you say, the national park system is way underfunded. So drop a few dollars in the donation box when you go in...
