    I have been using this type of backup led lighting for about 3 years, here in England they were crazy expensive when I first bought them but one i use in my kitchen has literally saved me trouble a bunch of times, i tested them doing the regular switch on the fitting nothing happened but soon as I tripped the lighting circuit switch it came on, i keep a blackout kit in my kitchen

    Ooh I love that you are covering these. 👍💥The emergency lightbulbs are GREAT! Can find warm or cool/white options. I use a different brand which I have several in the house, and make sure to turn on the lamps they are in once in awhile to make sure they keep charged up. They arent as bright when just powered by itself, but for regular use they are as bright as regular bulbs (and about same price!). Bulb usually stays bright enough for 4 hours, then dims as it discharges.
    Now, the ones I get dont come with that closed circuit piece. With mine, the bulb can be left in the lamp with no fuss, then just turn on and off like any other lamp. That being said, the lightbulb doesnt automatically come on unless the lamp was already in the on position. I gave some as a christmas gift, and I demonstrated by putting one of the bulbs in their unplugged lamp. I may try the ones you linked to- the discount may be worth the random try.
    The adaptors with hook are phenomenal for using just the bulb anywhere that you dont want to drag a lamp to. Or outdoor use, camping, etc. Prices are pretty good too like you said.
    For times that lights go out, and I want a light to get me to supplies, I tack little flashlights in each doorway. I buy the small flat thumb flashlights (I look for kind that can be switched on, rather than only a press and hold) . Takes up little space, doesnt really stand out. I lalso like small rechargeable lamps, easy enough to recharge with small power bank.

    I ordered a couple usb bulbs. They're only 1 inch. Explains the low price😂. Need to read descriptions better. The usb lanterns will do. Pretty bright. Use them during frequent outages that aren't long and it's not worth
    cranking up the generator usually.

    Great light bulbs. Definitely need those. Power outages kick my ptsd in. So if I don't have to be in the dark through a power outage, that would be great

    I have had these for two years and they are AMAZING ! Several times when the power has gone out they come immediately on and stay lit for 6-8 hours.

    Hi George, I bought a similar light bulb about 2 years ago. It's 9-watt bulb with a inline dimmer switch. Very bright pulls 4 watts on the highest setting. On lowest setting it pulls 1 watt. The light I have has 2 settings 1 for bright white and 1 for warm light. It lights up half my kitchen. I believe a person should have both USB lights and battery-operated lights, just in case you can't charge your generator due to weather etc. Thanks for the excellent review.

    Does it detect the difference between power outage vs power switch TO off ? What happens if the power switch is OFF and there is a power outage. Will it work ?

    I don’t get it. Do you leave them in a fixture but turned off? Do you use them like an ordinary bulb but they come on when the power fails even if the fixture is turned off?

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  ปีที่แล้ว

      They sense that the circuit is broken when you turn off the light so they don't light up, but when the circuit is complete (in other words all switches are on and the power is off at the main) they will turn on, it confused me too until i looked it up, that's why you need that little fake "plug" to turn them on when a lamp is not plugged in, that little plug makes the light think the circuit is complete and the power has failed.

      @@Iridium242 Gotcha, I thought the idea was they automatically came on when the power went off like an emergency light. It occurs to me when used in an RV they would work in a 120V fixture whether you were plugged into shore power or not.

    So if I switch off the light, how do the bulbs turn off?

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  ปีที่แล้ว

      Once you break the circuit, by turning off the switch, they turn off

      @@Iridium242So they burn 24/7 except for a few seconds after power fails?

    • @Iridium242
      @Iridium242  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@terrywaters6186 Nope, they burn like normal lights, I have them in my kitchen fan light, when the power is on, I just use the switch to trn them on and off like any other light, BUT.... if the power fails and you turn on the switch they will light up as if the power never went out. Its odd lol but it works
