    Fun fact about this playoff run : They had to add horns to Rexall Place because the crowd would bury the normal goal horn and you could barely hear it.

    Thumbs up if you agree that Edmonton would have won the Stanley cup if Dwayne Roloson hadn't injured himself in game one of the finals. I mean think it about, he's the reason Edmonton made it to the finals in 2006. I hope Connor Mcdavid takes them back.

Being an oilers fan is so damn brutal.. Someday I wish I can feel this great and be proud to call the oilers "my oilers" once again.. My favourite oilers since he as drafted was ales Hemsky.. Now I'm not 100% all oilers anymore.. But wish Hemsky wins the cup before the oilers do... Lowe you really Lost prolly the biggest half the of the most greatest and most passionate fans oilers ever had. Shame on you Kevin Lowe

I've only been to a handful of games since the 04-05 lockout and the crowd is horrible and too busy in their suites and on their blackberries. It's a social status to go to a Canucks game now since it's so expensive for tix.

    So disappointing that the Oilers Entertainment Group won't use the Black Eyed Peas opening, their current "opening" at Rogers Place is SO bad, it's like Tony Brar "telling" fans how and why they should be cheering?!
    The Oilers fans are the best !! Just give them some real music like 2006. Kudos to however produced this opening.
    The Oilers should use it as their Signature theme (like the Canucks have U2's Strets Have No Name).

  • @onewhitedude
    @onewhitedude 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really revisit the 2006 and 2017 playoff runs when the Oilers get into the playoffs again, and those were fantastic, I was born 1 year after, but my parents watched it and our friend Bradley took his son to one of the finals games, and I can tell that it was a great time. Now I was born after 2017, but I barely remember anything about it. I do remember being pissed when the Ducks won the series, and saltily chirping Ducks fans in the comments. That year was bad, all 4 of our favorite teams lost, the Ducks kicked the Flames and Oilers both (Yes I am a Flames fan, I am a fan of both Alberta teams, it sounds impossible but it isn't), and the Penguins kicked both the Capitals and Senators' ass, and they went on to win back-to-back Stanley Cups. And we all hated that because my dad HATES the Penguins! 2020 and 2021 were horrible. 2020 was pretty trash, they didn't even technically make it! And 2021 was worse because I was cheering all around Edmonton (in front of 137 Ave, Coliseum, and Rogers Place) and hoping that they would make it far. They didn't! They got their ass swept by the Jets and the Jets were my new least favourite team that year, I threw the jersey in the bathtub. So here's 2022, I am gonna do the same thing as 2021 cheering and getting drivers to honk, and cheering all around downtown and other places. I wanted to go to Whyte Avenue but it's hard to park there, and lots of sketchy people there. So maybe that's why they moved the celebrating area to downtown this year... And I want this year to be memorable and remembered like 2006 and 2017, and not absolute trash fire like 2020 and 2021. I highly doubt we will see a Conference Finals and/or Stanley Cup Finals appearance, but I am hoping that we meet the Flames in the second round. I am hoping for a great playoff run this year!

'06, '87 and '94 were my all-time SCF years. honorable mention to '01 when COL was able to get Bourque that SC ring.

    Is it me or has Edmonton never been this electric since? Even now with McDavid and a good team, the fans are never THIS loud in the playoffs nowadays.

      Well we've also never been in the SCF with McDavid, especially as an 8TH seed.

    You know its loud when the ref has to skate at the player with the puck and stop him because whistles are basically useless.

    Vancouver has not been same intensity of atmosphere in playoffs as early 2000's. Winnipeg in regular season is as loud as vancouver come playoffs. The eariler 2000's vancouver was intense for 60 mins. Its not loud building consistenly in playoffs anymore

      In the new arena, the crowd roar during a playoff goal will be so loud that the glass will shatter.

    The final playoff game at Rexall Place. Fans in Edmonton deserve at least one at Rogers Place.

      They had six already haha... Unfortunately they broke in game #5 against Anaheim in 2017. They had a chance to go to the Cup final again, but I don't think they would beat Pittsburgh though
