I’ve had the Manticore for about eight months now. I think it is fantastic, very easy to use, a screen is extremely intuitive, and I think you’re gonna love it. I have the legend, the Deus2 as well, and based upon my experience with all three, the Manticore is my go to machine for the beach! Without a doubt! I use the 9 inch coil and I love that as well. They advertise it as having 50% more power, I don’t know about that, but I’ll tell you one thing, it is far more sensitive than either of the other two metal detectors. And that goes for depth, and horizontally in all directions. So my word to you is, enjoy the Manticore! 👍 if you have any questions about setting it up, which modes to use and dry sand versus in the water, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ll help you in anyway I can.
That's very nice. I appreciate that. It's not for me to say, but I do believe the mental detector is very good. I pulled a very lightweight, woman's ring with it the other day, maybe 5 in down. I am not sure I'm keeping the XP D2 because I'm not sure I'll get enough use out of it but I'm still thinking about it. I have a pulse induction unit also coming.
I checked Michael Olivers channel and i did like him with my Blu3 nomad mini, i dive alone and its just awsome metaldetecting underwater, im certified diver though. I would keep both deus 2 and manticore, and test what you like the best. For me i do alot of land searching and weight for me is crucial and thus Deus 2 has no competion. Remote on the hip, and i swing 750 grams vs Manticore 1400 grams. Both rocking 9inch coils. My filosofi is covering alot of ground and less weight is key to go for many hours.
I want to add something, here in South Florida, and it might be my imagination, but on top of everything else that I have said recently about why I no longer have that air compressor, and it is gone. One of the reasons is that it appears that the waters have gotten rougher. Certainly right now you couldn't dive if you wanted to. We have 8 to 10 to even 13 ft waves that are predicted to hit the beach between now and a week from now, the end of October 2024. Anyway, there are so many logistical issues with that air compressor I can't begin to tell you. Also usage issues which go back to the need for calm water conditions which is not here. Now, sometimes there are calm waters but there's so many issues. It just was not a well thought-out choice as much as I thought it was.
I have the manticore too and it's great on the beach!
It’s a great metal detector for sure! I'll have it out tomorrow to take it for a spin.
