Lobster Clawz Recovery Services is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida USA. We are ocean-going and beach treasure hunters - as well as a jewelry recovery resource for people who lost something either in the water or on the beach. We will show you the beauty of South Florida - as well as the treasure and recovery specifics as we can report them. If you have any questions about me, comments about my techniques, or anything else. I never assume I know it all and I am ALWAYS open to learning a new way. To me, this is the best hobby in the world and one that can pay off. I have two detectors-the XP Deus II with a 9" coil, and my new, (pre-owned}, Whites TDI SL, with a 12-inch, dual-scan field coil. So now, I get an opportunity to dig up deep gold on the lower beach - where 17-19 inches is a possibility. In any case, it has been my dream to own this detector, and so here we are with me fulfilling a dream, and you can do this too - you only get one life.

Thumbs up 👍😎
Thanks for the visit
It’s gotten so I dig everything. Those waves would make it hard to get the target in the scoop in so few tries. You’re good at it! Have a great holiday and I hope the new year is filled with gold and silver!
Fingers crossed! I expect to get another pulse induction detector before I get another VLF, but the VLF is best when doing the upper beach, parks, etc. Thanks Dianne.
After using the Manticore for the past nine months, 100% beach hunting, I can tell you that using the red numbers option is 100% accurate! I spent the first two months with the manticore digging every target, including those that gave me red numbers, and every single one was trash! So I believe this metal detector. I also prefer the 9 inch circular coil, goes equally as deep as the 11 inch stock coil, and it’s lighter.
I have the Minelab Manticore M8 Coil 8″x5.5″ Elliptical Double-D and it does a very good job. One point, if the detector isn't sure of the target it might flash red intermittently so that's a metal detectorist decision whether to keep going or to dig.
Still using the Manticore? How do you like it? What settings are you using?
I tweaked a little but I would have to take a look to recall the changes I made. I will get back to you. :)
You would be suprised how many people still use these.
I bet, and to that end, I bought a metal detector that I wanted since it hit the market, and that is the Garrett ATX and it finds the gold. Pulse detectors are awesome. Look for those videos. Best regards, Brittany
I found a small broken gold ring by that garbage can Dec last year... It was deep. Came up as iron on 800 at first till I got down deeper.
I'm coming back there with the Garrett ATX. That should be interesting. Long before there was the Manticore or the 800, people were digging up targets left and right with pulse induction detectors. To a degree I'm coming back to that but I also like the Manticore with the 8-in coil. That works very well.
@@LobsterClawzRecovery I sold my ATX, I could never get it near the water.
Nice work, looks like a great spot.
Thank you. Well, on that day it was a good spot, you know how it goes, one day it's good the next day a week or month it's not. Point is you have to go back and periodically check when conditions are right. On that particular day they were. Thanks for watching. I'm seriously behind on posting videos and we'll get them out as soon as I can.
That is a huge cut there!
Absolutely insane. I live for that. I was wiped out. That detector is not for the faint of heart. I'm getting better but I will probably end with another PI unit vs VLF. The question is why? The answer is that often is the case we are so sanded in that a VLF detector will not find that deep gold. If Nexus Detectors can produce a beach detector that would be great.
@LobsterClawzRecovery I was actually at that cut about 2 weeks ago. 😉 It wasn't that big and there wasn't much there when I passed by.
Funny how that is. Right now I'm looking for big waves hitting the East Coast and right now we've got nothing. I can tell you for sure there are feet of sand on that particular beach that were not there on the day I found the ring. There's another video that just got released or will be released and you will see that coming back to that area just days later, half the sand has been washed back in. Thanks for watching.
Nice find on the ring. Miami Beach wiped out? Looks like you were right up the dune or what’s left of it. Nice vid B
Thanks kindly. Lucky break that day, but that is why Treasure hunters should always detect near those walls - it's an opportunity that rarely comes.
What setting for the beach?
Factory beach surf and water or beach general. No mods.
@ ok thank you!
I encourage you to experiment. Ultimately, use the highest sensitivity for the operating environment and equipment stability, listen for threshold breaks indicating deep targets and never pretend you know what is under the coil without digging. Sage advice.
Great find, but don’t you also think that you would’ve found that gold ring with the manticore as well?
That's true. Did I say otherwise? I just happened to have this detector on this day and found that ring. Thanks for watching
Very good
Thanks. That was an important event. They all are.
I’ve got to catch up on your videos. Wish this video included more of your philosophic narrative and as usual your video rocks!
That's very kind, Diane. I have videos and process, to be posted in arrears, with unexpected delays as the source. I make those comments because I try to help people and I'm glad that you like it. There are definitely videos like that coming. I would add that the Boca Raton video was more quiet than maybe typical as the wave action would have drowned my voice out anyway.
That was a parade? Don’t get me wrong, I voted for Trump three times, and I am overjoyed, relieved is really the word, that he has been reelected. But that wasn’t much of a parade 🫤
Me too, three times. Small parade.
I have the manticore too and it's great on the beach!
It’s a great metal detector for sure! I'll have it out tomorrow to take it for a spin.
This is great. I want one
We are taking orders.
I also have the thresher waterproof headphones for the manticore. Great sound, blocks out a lot of the extraneous noise around me, and, of course, they are waterproof which comes in real handy down here in South Florida. 👍
Most definitely. I can hear even the feint signals. I can wear them in the rain or in the water with destroying them like the factory headphones. Thanks again for your comment.
Hey lady, how have you been? Enjoyed the video.
Funny Guy. Keep watching as I am seriously behind on the videos. More soon.
Thumbs up 👍😎
Thank you, I remember your username and you from before but it's been a long time. Yes? Much will change. Likely the XP Deus 2 Is out, but that's still not finalized yet. Manticore is in. And there's another surprise yet to come. It's a big one. I'll give you a hint, they just stopped making them.
If you mount that coil backwards, you'll be a lot happier. Trust me
I could see that. When I have time maybe I'll try it. I bet you it would be really good on the big coil, I've got the 15-in one too. Interesting tip. Thank you.
I checked Michael Olivers channel and i did like him with my Blu3 nomad mini, i dive alone and its just awsome metaldetecting underwater, im certified diver though. I would keep both deus 2 and manticore, and test what you like the best. For me i do alot of land searching and weight for me is crucial and thus Deus 2 has no competion. Remote on the hip, and i swing 750 grams vs Manticore 1400 grams. Both rocking 9inch coils. My filosofi is covering alot of ground and less weight is key to go for many hours.
I want to add something, here in South Florida, and it might be my imagination, but on top of everything else that I have said recently about why I no longer have that air compressor, and it is gone. One of the reasons is that it appears that the waters have gotten rougher. Certainly right now you couldn't dive if you wanted to. We have 8 to 10 to even 13 ft waves that are predicted to hit the beach between now and a week from now, the end of October 2024. Anyway, there are so many logistical issues with that air compressor I can't begin to tell you. Also usage issues which go back to the need for calm water conditions which is not here. Now, sometimes there are calm waters but there's so many issues. It just was not a well thought-out choice as much as I thought it was.
I have the Manticore , been using it for about eight months now, and I love it. It is extremely intuitive, and easy to set up. I also have a Nokta Legend , and a Deus2, and to be quite frank about it, the Manticore is my go to metal detector for the beach! I’m also using it with the 9 inch coil. The modes I use, are Beach Low Conductor in the dry sand, and in the surf I use Surf & Seawater. It is a fantastic metal detector, and it is far more sensitive than either of the other two metal detectors, of that I am 100% sure. If you have any questions, or need any suggestions on setting it up for the beach, don’t hesitate to let me know. 🧑🦯 👍
Thanks for the information, I really appreciate it! I don't have very many hours on it but I'll find out. There are a lot of interesting choices to try out. Thanks again for writing. Please keep watching.
I’ve had the Manticore for about eight months now. I think it is fantastic, very easy to use, a screen is extremely intuitive, and I think you’re gonna love it. I have the legend, the Deus2 as well, and based upon my experience with all three, the Manticore is my go to machine for the beach! Without a doubt! I use the 9 inch coil and I love that as well. They advertise it as having 50% more power, I don’t know about that, but I’ll tell you one thing, it is far more sensitive than either of the other two metal detectors. And that goes for depth, and horizontally in all directions. So my word to you is, enjoy the Manticore! 👍 if you have any questions about setting it up, which modes to use and dry sand versus in the water, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’ll help you in anyway I can.
That's very nice. I appreciate that. It's not for me to say, but I do believe the mental detector is very good. I pulled a very lightweight, woman's ring with it the other day, maybe 5 in down. I am not sure I'm keeping the XP D2 because I'm not sure I'll get enough use out of it but I'm still thinking about it. I have a pulse induction unit also coming.
Where did you disappear to these past few months? Welcome back!
It's funny thing, on the way to metal detecting life got in the way. Thank you for your kind words. The world of TH-cam can get a bit tedious. The weather has been brutal here and going out in it is not exactly inviting. Thanks again for your kind words.
Would like a callapsable carbon fiber T- handle if it’s possible.
Tell you the truth, some people may like the XP Deus 2 metal detector for in the water, but I think The display is too much to look at. No one is looking at the display as there's too much else to do when you're in the water. I think the ergonomics, even with in the water carbon fiber handle, is uncomfortable. Ergonomically unfriendly. Basically if it beeps you should probably be looking at the target. Dig it up find out what it is. Where does that leave you? Pulse induction metal detecting is the answer. I expect to come back to that at some point. Everything has a price tag so we all have to wait for those kind of things. Thanks again for writing and please keep watching.
Good to see you back again on TH-cam! You were up in my neighborhood when you made this video, parking is very limited as you can see, that’s why I always go to beach parks where there’s free parking, and I can go metal detecting on the beach without worrying about all the money you have to pay for a parking spot!
Thanks for the info! I'm glad you're watching. I am trying to get up and out to make these videos. The weather has not been very cooperative but we always keep trying, right? Never stop.
So glad to see you’re back on. Really a good video. Talking to the diver was a good insert….very interesting!
You know, as I get older, it gets harder to get to the beach and I really want to go. I am about to pull the trigger on changing how I do things. As much as I want to use the surface air compressor, I am seeing an issue, specific to maybe South Florida but other areas too, where the waves more often than not do not cooperate with what is possible with a surface compressor especially during El nina years. Not the same with scuba and that's my thought. Thanks again Dianne
Good to see you back again!
Thanks, much appreciated. I am trying. "Life gets in the way..." of metal detecting. The interview with that gentleman was interesting and helpful. I will be back there.
There are definitely other settings that you can change instead of just a sensitivity to get that detector to quiet down and you can have it scan for EMI and find the frequency and then if they need to check again, there’s like recovery, speed and other settings that will help
Yes, correct. Though in the area I was operating in EMI noise was rampant and reducing sensitivity was the most effective solution at the time and situation. Thank you.
Love how you tell us about your equipment. Good luck on your next hunt.
I was at the beach yesterday. And it was rough. It's going to be a challenge being in the water with that equipment. Funny enough there was one person in the water skin diving with an Excalibur and another one onshore. I press on anyway, they do miss things. I am waiting on a new video camera as well. Thanks again for writing.
You bought that at Costco? Does it have a motor on it or do you have to pull it?
Thanks for your message. Lol. I am the motor. On the sand is much more of a challenge. If you want to do better, find one with balloon tires, that is easy to manage but more money. $90-100 ea.
@@LobsterClawzRecovery I already have one that I bought about a month ago, for surf fishing, also with balloon tires. But even with the balloon tires, it is a struggle, pulling that thing along the beach, especially if the beach is lumpy or going uphill! nevertheless, it is a lot easier than when I see people struggling with huge carts, full of crap for the kids in the families and they’re pulling it along the beach with those small solid tires, I think they’re gonna have a heart attack. Good to see you back again you were gone for a long time. 👍👩🏻🦯
I reckon having specific gear for diving is helpful. And as long as someone can keep an eye on your cart and unused stuff while you’re in the water, it’s a good idea.
Can’t wait for your upcoming videos!
Me neither. Thank you.
Where have you been!
I am buried in the day-to-day of life. I have also been waiting for the seas to calm so I can dive.
I am in love with this content because it shows how absurd the allocation of gold targets is across the ID scale of this instrument. Twice already I've dug with an 80, 18K wedding rings and just over six grams each. Too bad almost every European coin falls in that range along with hundreds of fishing sinkers of any shape. If anyone is wondering about a solution to the problem, there is none...So says Xp.
Oh, if there was only a solution. The only way to go is through it, as you can't go around it. Perseverance. Dig, dig, dig. I expect to be back out after spring break. Right now, it's utter chaos on the beach.
❤ 😊
Did you want to make a comment? Or just send me a heart? Anyway thanks for being part of the channel.
OMG! So I’m not the only one who walks for miles on the beach, with barely a few targets! Oh well, it sure beats laying on the couch at home, eating junk food, and watching TV, that’s for sure.
Haha. Agreed. That day was gorgeous. Good exercise. Soon, I'll be diving and I'll see how that goes, fingers crossed
Sounds like a great plan ✌🏻👌❤
I'm working on it. You get one life and if there's something you want to do you better do it because at some point you will no longer be able to. As I say, it is impossible to drive your life from your seat on the couch. You have to get up and take action to make things happen. That's what I'm doing.
Congratulations on the new equipment coming! This is definitely an addicting hobby, and it can get expensive, but I always say cry once buy once…😉 if you take good care of your equipment, it’ll last forever!
Much appreciated. The mini model is new, and will make it more attractive to some to buy it b/c it goes 5 ft deeper than the predecessor model, the Nemo. I think it will be cool. I am hoping to find some of that treasure. Stay tuned :)
The beaches in Fort Lauderdale are being eroded far more than the beaches up here in Palm Beach County today! The seas have been very ugly for three or four days.
Hello, thank you for your comment. The beaches are the worst I've ever seen them.

Can you explain what you're trying to tell me?
Hello. How do I set the frequency to 4 Khz? With the new programs, I only get 14, 24, 40 Khz, so I have to rewrite some factory program where the option to set it to 4 Khz is already there?
How are you? Great question. If you want that frequency control, you have to be in Deus Mono, which is Adjustable from 4 to 45 kHz. "The frequency you choose will depend on the type of metal you are searching for. The best place to find ferrous metals and iron is at 10 kHz and higher. Gold can be found at 14 kHz and higher. At frequencies between 3 kHz and 7 kHz, silver, copper, and brass can be found. At frequencies between 4 kHz and 8 kHz, nickel and aluminum are most readily found." QUOTED TEXT CREDIT: www.metaldetector.com/blogs/new_blog/metal-detector-frequency-guide#:~:text=The%20best%20place%20to%20find,aluminum%20are%20most%20readily%20found.
@@LobsterClawzRecovery Thank you very much for your answer. and you can't set less than 14 Khz in newly created programs?
You know I love going along on your hunts and I particularly like your walking commentary…need more of that!!
Walking commentary? Haha. That's funny. I will try. I have a new TH-cam channel, it's called, " What It's Like," and it's filmed in 360 or sometimes in 180, Hi Rez. Invite your friends, Diane. It's cool.

Congratulations on that gold! Up here in Palm Beach County, it has been so slow, as far as finding any good jewelry.
Thank you so much. Utter luck I say. I just happened to exit the water and was walking back North long the surf line and there it was not 2 meters north of where I started. I'm no expert, but I do know it's 18 carat and it sure shines nicely. I have been trying to find the rest of that necklace ever since. It's only a fraction of what I think is a 24-in necklace.

Hello. If possible, about XP Deus 2 for each general. Deep Hc. DEUS MONO. Gold Field. RELIC, give an explanation
My advice to you would be to take a look at the manual. I am no substitute for the manual. You need to thoroughly understand the detector before even asking questions. Unfortunately, your question is too broad.
why is your coil wired
When you have an XP Deus 2 and there is the possibility that you will be in the water, or of course, the coil is submerged, you must use that wire so that there is a connection made between the coil and the control unit otherwise you will get no signal. I hope that answers your question. Have a great day.

Congrats on the yellow. Nice! Where is this colonel Dan article? I to am not sure about the salt sens settings. I thought lower, you lose some depth.
Thank you for the comments. Actually, I believe all the information is there including the source, I recorded it verbatum from what I was reading. I think it's subject to discussion and those settings are dependent on the salinity of your water. In the end, it's hard to argue with the result of a lowered setting.
@@LobsterClawzRecovery I found the article. In a forum. Good read on the salt sens. I’m running mine to high as I had believed it would affect depth. Looks Like it does not. My beach gets real quiet at 7. That’s plenty sensitive for deep targets.
