Thank you for the great tutorial. I am just starting to cross stitch and your videos are an inspiration. I appreciate all the time and effort you put into them.
This project is so cute. I watch you do these tutorials and believe I might be able to do some hand sewing. Not my favorite thing to do, but a small project just maybe 😏
Pam Ford Trust me Pam, this one is super easy. I despise hand sewing... without holes to guide me, my stitches are all over the place! You can't go wrong with this, it's very simple. I hope you give it a go. You can always send me a message if you need help ;) x
Emily Chadwick So sorry Emily, I somehow missed your comment and only saw it when I went to comment to someone else's. Glad you liked it - very easy to do :) x
Carolyn, Awesome tutorial once again - you are so good to everybody on sharing your techniques. I shall have to try a pincushion now. Thanks once again Hugs Amanda xxxx
Another gorgeous FFO and super tutorial video. I love this little pattern and have it kitted for my next project. I hope mine comes out as nice as yours.
AWESOME video once again Carolyn. I love this method of finishing for my stuffed Christmas ornaments as it just so nicely finished and the beading also adds some bling to the tree. HUGS Patty BC Canada
Patty Smith Hi Patty - yes I prefer this to sewing the material on the back, like I did with my first ornament. This way you get a perfect shape every time. And who doesn't love some bling bling, especially at Christmas time :) x
i haven't yet done any pincushion ... but now i am wondering maybe i should try one ))) thanks !!! that's so nice of you to share your knowledge and skills with everybody ))) your pincushion is lovely !!! i really like the design you've chosen )))
Yulia Bardo You should definitely try one. You can also make it into a hanging, which is useful for christmas ornaments etc. The only limit is your imagination :) x
Nice video. Someone asked about walnut filling for pincushions. One inexpensive way to get it is to purchase litter for lizards on Amazon or at the pet store. It is made from ground black walnuts and is perfect for the job!
Virpi R Unfortunately no, which is why I just used wadding. Another subscriber said that pencil sharpenings work well also. I wish you the best of luck with finding them :) x

I love this tutorial x do you think you could do this with dried lavender as the filling as a scented cushion? I'd love to make a few of these for my nans x Also... I know this sounds silly but could you change the backing fabric? Like if I was using a 14 count on the front, could I use a 28 count for the back and do the running stitch across two instead of one? I'm sorry so many questions x Loves x
Helen Marsh I don't see any reason why you couldn't use dried lavender to fill it - and I think it would be any extra nice way to finish it. As for the backing fabric, as long as you used the same comparable count fabric, then it should work. i.e. 28ct & 14ct, 22ct & 11ct etc. Great questions, and thanks for asking them :) x
Liz Thompson Hi Liz, I got the pattern from Joan Elliott's book "A Woman's World In Cross Stitch". There's loads of other great charts in the book too. Happy stitching :) x
