I met Kálmán Balogh in Geneva some fifteen years ago - he was playing in a Brazilian bar/club to an unappreciative and loud audience, and it seems that I was the only one who appreciated his immense talent and skill. I told him then that he would have a very successful career. :)
Such sensitive & beautiful playing! This 1rst tune is a much more expanded version of the piece dedicated to his uncle than he first recorded. Everything he added is wonderful. I've met him several times and he is a wonderful guy. He was super kind and gave me a lesson when I was in Hungary!! If I ever play 10% as good I will have lived well!
He is wonderful! I had the good fortune to see him live 3 times and meet him. Don't know that he'll ever get back to the US. I hear he is busy with a new job at the conservatory in Budapest!

@Cimino30 Marius Preda is a great musician but different than this. Hungarian cymbalom style is fantastic , and I love the romanian waytoo, although they are different . Eac has the flavour of the region it comes from.

Cute, but I agree with Goguta. The Romanian musicians would find this amateurish playing laughable; the Romanian music is merciless to the less than virtuoso players. Oh well, you want to eat too...
