The Kalman Balogh Trio's performance on March 1 at Johnny D's (Somerville, MA) was a real pleasure: a virtuoso performance of music from a rich and heterogeneous tradition that is too-little known here, exotic enough to carry the thrill of novelty, but very accessible, soulful, and just plain fun. The folks in Mobile are in for a treat!
