The english VA of Emet-Selch completely nailed his narration.
Soken had a couple "super sayan past a super sayan" moments in this trailer holy shit.
so Super Saiyan 2? ;)
And this...is to go...even further beyond! HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-cue motif.
And I'm sure he is keeping his best ones still. Final fight will have Ultra Instinct Soken.

The Endwalker motif with the horn & choir section at the end is absolutely riveting. You've done it again Soken. Chills
Its literally god tier.
The slow version of the CG into song slaps so freaking hard! It's very emotional. Damn Soken is just crushing it. #godmode
There is a very interesting difference between the JP and ENG trailer - especially in the last lines.
Eng. version has Hades saying "Let the curtains fall upon this. The final chapter in the tale of this star".
JP. version has someone we've never heard before saying "So you intend to destroy this beautiful world?" in a threatening manner.
Would be fun if Zodiark awakens and just slaps Fandaniel down for bringing about Final Days (since Zodiark was originally created to stop it)
Not only that, in JP Fandaniel says (from what I could transcribe):
"ああ、ゾヂアーク, 割れはの作りし神よ、どうか、色々聞き届給え！そして、私達を返しておくれ!"
which I, in my very bad Japanese, translated as
"Oh Zodiark, the god we created / the broken god (ambiguous meaning there), please listen! And give us back everything!"
@@elduardo2496 More specifically, I think the line was pleading for *their* return, ie to bring back their people. And I'm also fairly certain that wasn't Fandaniel, as it sounded more like Elidibus. Ishida Akira has a pretty distinctive voice and I'm almost certain we heard it.
When you think about it, the Ascians' original plan involved sacrificing most lives on the Source to resurrect their people once all of the Shards would be rejoined. In a way, Fandaniel's actions could be akin to pressing the fastforward button on that plan and not waiting until all the Shards are rejoined.
I still think we (i mean the wol) are zodiark or at least a part of him with some kind of seal or so on us so hydelin can use us for her goals.
So we basiclly fight ourself so she dosnt need to do anything

I really believe that by killing Emet and Elidibus we did nothing more than free them from zodiark's tempering. When the WoL invokes magics of eld of his own make in these cases, he is calling back his old friend Emet who is now free willed.
Makes sense... after all, that little crystal of ours was made by Emet-Selch. It stands to reason that an echo of sorts lingers. ... We'll see ^^°
I don't think that Zodiark's tempering was as bad as you think : Emet openly states that yes he is tempered but it doesn't change his objectives at all. Heck, the WoL is also tempered as Ifrit told us so back in 2.0 stating that " [ you ] are already claimed " by someone else when that thing tried to get your sweet booty.
To me, Zodiark's tempering is at the same level as Hydaelyn's : both temper people as it is in their nature as a primal but doesn't really assert dominance over people : think of Hydaelyn and Zodiark as radioactive elements that infects people but doesn't outright control them. The more recent and weaker primals on the other hand like Ifrit and Garuda can be seen as an infectious mind-controlling fungus that becomes stronger the more it spread and thus are more dangerous as primals because they use their temptering innate properties to spread their influence.
The great example to prove this theory of mine is Alexander : he too like Zodiark was a primal created for the sole purpose of " Salvation ", yet because he was created as an omni-scient being with the skill to see trhough time he was able to conclude that his presence would cause more trouble and thus decided to commit " suicide ". Alexander didn't outright start to enthrall people and spread his influence in order to bring "another kind of Salvation" suiting a more twisted personality : it decided to stick with its first purpose while it could change it's mind at any moment.
Something to keep in mind is FFIV is the game where half the cast of characters fake their deaths.
One interesting thing about the Ascian praying to Zodiark is that in japanese he says something like this lines (with my limited japanese knowledge): "Ahh Zodiark, our God, please listen to our prayers, and allow us to come back home" that goes along with many of the previous Ascian themes and songs like "To the Edge" or ARR trailer song that seemingly got lost in the translation
Yea it upsets me knowing that koji fox changes the mood or rather the intent of the script. Like at the end of 5.0. He had emet say "no it cant be. Your just a broken husk."
But the jp va said something like "what impossible, why are you here?"
And even in the jp in the ew launch trailer. At the end where alphi talks. In jp he is saying goodbye to someone.
While in english he is thanking two people.
@@akinasgreatest01 I would venture to guess that Koji knows exactly how these scenes are supposed to be represented better than we do, since he does work with the writers. Every language and culture are different and thus exact translations are usually not very representative of the source. In English, you can just say good bye to someone by simply saying goodbye, but you can also say goodbye by thanking them. That is more of a final goodbye. English actually is a unique language in that it has the most words of any language, by far (French is a distant second), and the vast majority of words can have multiple meanings. There are so many ways to express things in our language that does exist in most languages, so when translating it is always best to know the original intent of the source material, or use your best judgment based off the context of the material. Never, word for word direct translate, or you will be stuck with garbage like a lot of the older JRPGs that were localized for the west.
@@akinasgreatest01 he is and has been involved in the script writing and even the lyrics of songs for multiple expansions. The "mood or intent" is something he would know better than you could ever dream of.

Plot Twist: The next saga of expansions is paved with the graves of all of the Scions.
As a wow refugee, it's weird to hear Anima used as a name, instead of referring to a resource. XD
The music is insane, it feels so epic and I already want to cry. I swear, everything is pointing to Scions dying and my bet is the twins, the foreshadowing is insane now. Alisaie might as well have a Doom debuff over her head. She got hurt in the last trailer, everyone looked to the moon but the twins, this trailer they focused too much on the twins in despair, Alphi basically saying "I love you guys, gotta say it now because someone is going to die", I'm so hype but I just know I'm gonna be an emotional wreck lol.
Man I feel like this song at the start hopefull part, is going to make me cry in a few months... >.>
The split second cuts of the WoL at different points in his journey gives me chills.
Easily the best launch trailer yet.
Though I am left very confused at how many dungeons are located in Thavanir because usually its one dungeon per a new area but Thavanir looks like it has two.
Yeah, both the Tower and the burning forest appear to be in Thavnair
It's not bad, 5.1 launch trailer is still top of my list though. The cinematics in this one seemed a bit trite but Soken (and his team) saved it with the music.
They may rearrange it a bit. I don't think the dungeon count will necessarily change. Thavnair might be 2 zones anyway.
But even if a zone lacks a levelling dungeon, it is not unlikely to have a 90.
Or what looks like a "dungeon" with Trusts is actually a solo duty like the big 5.55 one.
@@KohenChia that's not a launch trailer that's a patch trailer.
They've said the MSQ is 30% longer than other base games because it accounts for MSQ that would normally be in a 6.1-6.3 patch series allowing 6.0 to fully encompass Endwalkers story.
That could mean we have the trials and dungeons normally associated with said patches as well.

the first time i watched it i actually started to cry, this truly feels like the end now. an epic saga coming to an end. i love that song, i never buy game music but that wow. we are indeed going to be on a emotional roller-coaster. i feel like we are going to loose so many characters. alisaie may survive to carry on her brother. maybe tataru but beyond that i cant think of another other scion.
Wait a second... This whole expansion is chuck-full if ff4 stuff... We got twins in that game and they turn to stone in order to protect Cecil and the party... And in ff14 we have twins as well... That means...? Oh shit!

We have too much on the table for Alisasie to die in my opinion. Alphy is pretty rip for it though. Star child, the prodigy, going from the downfall of Earozea in his arrogance, to saving the world truely in his wisdom would be perfect for his arc.

I think about half the Scions are fair game. My own least likely are Yshtola (Matoya will take that bullet first), Graha, and Thancred since we just had a really good narrative near-death for him in SHB. Too awkward to chicken out of that emotionally charged moment to kill him off so soon after.

Ok so at 3:26 you can clearly hear in the Japanese version he says, "Zodiark" but in the English version you don't hear mention of Zodiark at all. That discrepancy has been eating my brain since I first saw this trailer. What's up with that??

He says something along the lines of "Oh Zodiark, our beautiful god...why can't we go back home". Might be his sacrifice/death lines.

After this trailer I am already convinced that they just might meet if not top what ShB what did.
Something feels incomplete with Zodiark. He doesn’t look finished while caged. He’s heartless and sundered so whatever Fandaniel plans to do with him seems different to what the lines said when zoomed on him.
Pretty sure that scene is just us seeing Zodiark being created, and the convocation getting tempered as a result.
@@RandomFlask175 It's on the moon, so no. Zodiark was created in Amaurot. That's happening in the Endwalker narrative rather than being a flashback, you can even see the terrain behind him.
@@Alcadria Ackshually! If you look a few seconds earlier, we're seeing holograms or whatever on the moon. It is not unlikely this is a record being played. I believe Fandaniel's dialogue during that time is really from the same sequence, thus his very different kind of statements.
If so, then the background of the moon is simply because the projected image does not extend that far.
Maybe fandaniel becomes unsundered during ew and has a change of heart.
The final trailer made me worry about Alphinaud well-beign. Hopefully he does not die!

I'm still trying to figure out who that other Ascian is, the one that says "It will be ours again, our world free of sorrow" as Emet and Elidibus mentioned something to that effect.

Hope everyone notices the JP version say “Ahhh Zodiark” - calls him by name just before showing the red holo being. It’s him 100%. In the English version they leave this out, masked by someone saying “there must be another way to return the world to the way it once was”.

I get the feeling it's the cousin of Varis we heard about a few times throughout the game, and more during the 5.1-5.5 patches as a background character. It's possible the person we see kneeling before that flag of Garlemald is Nerva feeling distraught over what has become of the Empire. Nerva is the son of Varis' Uncle and contested Zenos and Fandaniels takeover of the Empire with his legion.

As he sees the devastation caused to the people of Garlemald by Zenos' actions. And how they cannot even fend for themselves any longer, having to accept the help of Eorzeans and Easterners to survive against the Final Days.

My best guess is something happens to Alphie. The cinematic trailer, when he is shown, the line "Tales of loss" plays. That also plays on the start screen, and then we have the dialogue at the end of the launch trailer. Maybe he dies, or maybe he binds with zodiark

@@jacobkern2060 I am just speculating, but maybe the final days return because Elidibus is no more, thus zodiark is missing an essential piece. Alphinaud is the type of person who would make the sacrifice in order to save the planet. Remember, zodiark was created to be the will of the star, and his creation did stop the end of the world. We will find out in four weeks, what really happens.

im starting to think our character is the one who is going to die no the rest of the cast. i remember hearing them say something about maybe having to do a time skip one day or something similar and i think this is probably where its heading. We will sacrifice ourselves to save everyone and get rid of Hydalean and Zodiark for good and it will seem like we die then a skip will happen and we will reappear to everyone closing the story till the next patch to start the new story arc.
Yeah the official lyrics for the endwalker trailer make it sound even more like we are going to die. End the lyrics where the WoL if fighting the first beast the lyrics say "when the world comes crumbling down know I'll be there - you're not--you're not alone - as you turn your eyes to the stars oh I'll be there with my chorus guiding you" and in this trailer venat tells us to be the light to guide other.
What is the original theme that has the variation at 8:11?

its NOT deathflagging - its simply stated the delay of the expansion with this sad video..there will be probably deaths - but I am pretty sure Yoshi will not let Alpinaud die :D
I wonder if all the OG scions will “die” by joining Minfilia in the end to help prevent another final days scenario from ever happening again. That would set the stage for the next saga, with a new set of characters (in addition to WOL, G’raha and Estinien.)
If they pull that off I doubt I’d be able to stop crying.

What if Zodiack was never a summoned primal?
The Amaurotians thought they used their life-force to summon the will of the planet, but Zodiack was actually already there to begin with. They fed him so much aether it went completely haywire and brought the disaster?
I got this hypothesis back from 5.0 Amaurot dungeon, when the party reach the first boss "The first beast", the JP voice of Emet would say something like "Similar to primal manifested from prayer, the fear too manifest into beast, and the fear of the beast brings more fear."
Since The first beast is something from the Revelations, I was wondering where is the second beast that promote the authority of the first beast? What if Zodiack was actually The second beast and the sound that triggered the beginning of the disaster was actually he "promoting/initiating" the horror of the first beast?
What if they originate from another star like Jenova from FFVII?
The prayer of Amaurotians did alter his behavior enough to restored the planet, but some Amaurotians realized its true identity and summoned Hydaelyn to stop him.
The timeline doesn't match up for this to be correct. The Final Days were in full swing long before Zodiark was summoned. The planet was already fully ravaged like is shown in the 3rd area of the Amaurot dungeon, with the land burning, seas poisoned, and sky raining fire when Zodiark was summoned and stopped the destruction.
@@CrashB111 Like I said, Zodiack could be there long before the Final days. It fed off the planet's aether to grow first until it is strong enough to initiate. Just a random thought anyway :p

10 Scions/Allies but only 9 are shown and Alphinaud is the one speaking, we are going to lose so many x.x
I don't think as many are going to die, but most will atleast leave. I can see Y'shtola leaving to be on the first, she made that promise after all. I think that Thancred will die, finally going off to be with Min, or if he lives, he goes with Y'sh to the first to be with Ryne. Urianger will either die or leave to restart the Students of Baldiseon. I think Alphy is going to die honestly, it would just be too perfect for his arc. Ali is safe in my book and makes for a perfect companion for us to continue to adventure with, same with Estinein as we just got him "in the party", so we have him for a while longer I would hope, as well as being basically OP so I think he is safe. We just got Gra'ha, so he is safe and has a lot of room to grow. Tataru is going to become some business mogol and going to leave, but we will see her often. Krile is an odd one, she hasn't been around enough to really develop past...well....plot device, and we are quickly coming up on a point where she is no longer useful in that capacity. If she becomes a trust member, I will say she gets to live, and likely becomes a true "party member" going forward, if not, she will be the Moonbryda catalyst that drive the party forward towards victory. Then we ourselves obviously get to live, and that is 10.

its interesting how different the JP and ENG trailers are in terms of what they say and who says what
The same character are saying the same lines. The US version is just more romanced but it's less bland not that different
@@kylestewart2829 no its not. the part where fandaniel is making his speech, afterwards another character says "it will ours again" whereas the japanese trailer its all fandaniel. even after that emet starts narrating in the ENG trailer while the garlean general starts talking in the other one.

Honestly, who knows? With the FF4 theme there are 2 possibilities I see regarding him: 1) they pull a Palom & Porom, Alphinaud and Alisaie get turned to stone to save WoL & the others, but it gets reversed and they show up at the end alive & well. 2) With Alphinaud becoming a Sage, perhaps someone close to him ends up dying and he sacrifices himself to get revenge, along the lines of Tellah casting Meteo on Golbez to avenge the death of Anna.

Every one dies except the warrior of light (and Taturu, just because), the others help throw you into a tardis and you get sent to another world, another dimension in another time. Thus begins FF16, and a new chapter begins... ( your character is saved, albeit with no memory in a new body etc, and starts as a vet from ff14, new players can begin from scratch without needing to play through 5 expansions to begin the new stuff )
