I sang this song in church today and for the first time, the astonishing parallel of the parted sea and the torn curtain before outstretched arms of Gods servant suddenly dawned on me... Blew my mind!
I am saddened by many who have not heard of these theologically sound songs... The majority of mainstream Christian music has missed the point of "Christian music": it must be Christ-centered. So glad that Matt Boswell, Matt Papa, Keith & Kristyn Getty, and other such artists adhere to writing music and lyrics that are Biblically rich and focused on Christ.
Depends on what you call "mainstream." Open the Trinity Hymnal and you will find many hymns that pass the test of theological correctness. Maybe you intended to say "Contemporary Christian Music," which tends to be subjective rather than doctrinally sound.

4 fronts: it's accessible for kids! Here's a visual presentation of this song put on by some of the children at my church. It captures in a beautiful yet simple way how these OT characters foreshadow Christ. The lyrics, of course, already do that. But some of the visuals in this presentation are rich with meaning. th-cam.com/video/a7MNk4J3Ox8/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=Here%27sHopeChurch
@@ninaballerina2807 I think you missed the point of the song. Scripture refers to Jesus as the second Adam, utilizing this context exactly as put to music in the song. Your right, there is no comparison on the one hand, but on the other, Jesus is the true and better in every case! Read Hebrews for more insight, and remember the words of the Lord Jesus on the Emmaus Road
@@ninaballerina2807 I'm sorry I engaged with you. I didn't realize you were a virulent cult member. The apostle John helps me identify you as an antichrist, based on your mistaken understanding of the true Son of God, Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh. That was my mistake to think you were sincere.
@@ninaballerina2807 I don't even know your real name, but if your first name is Nina, let me just offer to you my prayers and sympathy. I pray you will find salvation and healing from the darkness from which you are currently engulfed. I pray that the light of Christ will draw you into a true relationship with the Father, so that you will have fellowship with others who are of the faith and be washed clean from all sin.
You have no shame really! What a coward and hypocrite you are. You block Nina for having exposed your blasphemous lies and yet pretend to carry on an exchange with her just to exude your sanctimonious self for your own vainglory. Well, lest you are unaware, for having rejected her faithful ministry you have to in fact ended up rejecting God who sent her to minister to you - just as God has forewarned in Jn 13:20. Clearly, you deserve no better. P.s. Don't even bother to respond to me for I have no desire to entertain a fool like you and I shall therefore be muting you.
As I watched this video with my hubby the hymn “Christ the True and Better” by Matt Boswell and Matt Papa came to mind. Haha. I just notice someone else mentioned this hymn in the comments. Great minds think alike.
Christ, the true and better Adam
Son of God and Son of man
Who, when tempted in the garden
Never yielded, never sinned
He, who makes the many righteous
Brings us back to life again
Dying, He reversed the curse, then
Rising, crushed the serpent's head
Christ, the true and better Isaac
Humble son of sacrifice
Who would climb the fearful mountain
There to offer up his life
Laid with faith upon the altar
Father's joy and only son
There salvation was provided
Oh, what full and boundless love
Amen! Amen!
From beginning to end
Christ the story, His the glory
Alleluia! Amen!
Christ, the true and better Moses
Called to lead a people home
Standing bold to earthly powers
God's great glory to be known
With his arms stretched wide to heaven
See the waters part in two
See the veil is torn forever
Cleansed with blood we pass now through

Christ, the true and better David
Lowly shepherd, mighty king
He the champion in the battle
Where, o death, is now thy sting?
In our place He bled and conquered
Crown Him Lord of majesty
His shall be the throne forever
We shall e'er His people be

CHRIST THE TRUE AND BETTER ADAM
1.
Christ the true and better Adam,
Son of God and Son of man
Who, when tempted in the garden
Never yielded, never sinned
He who makes the many righteous
Brings us back to life again
Dying, He reversed the curse
Then rising, crushed the serpent’s head
2.
Christ the true and better Isaac
Humble son of sacrifice
Who would climb the fearful mountain
There to offer up his life
Laid with faith upon the altar
Father’s joy and only son
There salvation was provided
Oh what full and boundless love
[Chorus]
Amen, amen
From beginning to end
Christ the story, His the glory
Hallelujah, amen
3.
Christ the true and better Moses
Called to lead a people home
Standing bold to earthly powers
God’s great glory to be known
With his arms stretched wide to heaven
See the waters part in two
See the veil is torn forever
Cleansed with blood we pass now through
[Chorus]
Amen, amen
From beginning to end
Christ the story, His the glory
Hallelujah, amen
4.
Christ the true and better David
Lowly shepherd, mighty King
He the champion in the battle
Where, oh, death, is now thy sting?
In our place He bled and conquered
Crown Him Lord of majesty
His shall be the throne forever
We shall e’er His people be
Thank you. Amazing lyrics
I just love the typology and theology in this song. It glorifies our Lord Jesus Christ. Keep serving HIM faithfully
Thank you for such a mighty song of praise!
