Well, generally stars are blue because they are hotter. It means it is admitting shorter wavelength light, which is more energetic, and therefore hotter. I don't know why this star tuns blue in this case though.

Blue stars are hotter and die quicker because they exhaust their hydrogen first (see: the hr diagram) and the red stars last longer because they are cooler and fuse hydrogen slower.
