FYI: the grease is also dielectric, which prevents the aluminum/steel direct contact from causing electro-chemical corrosion. Make certain to completely coat the contact surfaces.
John, I can relate to the sentiment for active duty soldiers. I used to test video conferencing equipment and would connect to overseas camps. Guys loved to talk to someone back home.

I drive the Spoon flywheel and pressure plate combo with the OEM clutch and the difference ist noticeable - no doubt. The pressure plate has a 30% higher clamp force then the OEM and to do that, you usuallly change the pivot point or increase the spring rate of the clutch diaphragm. Not sure which one of the two or maybe both Spoon modified. Obviously you can't see the changes in the pivot point when the pressure plate is assembled and 30% is not that much (but still noticeable) on an OE part. Regarding their clutch . I have no f*****g clue what they changed :D. That's why I went with the OEM clutch.

I'm a Spoon fan but most of the mechanical stuff they sell are actually OEM -- even some gearbox parts for the FK8 are identical to J-series parts. Other parts are made by Vision and I think the seats are made by Esqueleto, which cost half as much as the Spoon branded ones
Some of their parts are good. Like for S2k rear toe arms they are the only company who makes them from stainless. Axle spacers have little lips like their rigid collars etc

You should’ve put the jig on the passenger side as well. Would like to see that demonstration on every car you work on I’m OCD and bought the jig from LHT worked out lovely.👍🏽
To be fair the driver side side marker does not appear to be OEM. The trim around the light is chrome. So perhaps the fender was repainted and the installer put the emblem way too far from marker light.
@@LHTPerformance The jig is what you should start the work with to show us why that jig is so useful it was too me hence the purchase. Plus just don’t like chrome on cars like these. Had to change mine to black more contemporary.
@@ciscokid2444 I did a video showing how it works. It’s pretty much cool proof. Install it over the side marker light , hold in place with masking tape. Install your emblems.
@@LHTPerformance I know John I purchased the set from you it’s great cost me $25 with shipping but totally worth it. Before you start working on a new car do the Cisco check on the emblems first to keep the viewers informed that you have this jig. Quick OCD check. Only takes a minute.👍🏽
What's the most miles on an OEM clutch? Just wondering, mine's over 90,000 miles. I can live with slightly misalinged badges. The shaky mirrors drive me crazy. They are loose at the friction material between the base and the rotating mirror. To stop the shaking I wrap a rubber band around the mirror and slide it into the space between these two pieces. It's cheap, easy, and works.
I guess it depends on the part...like the Spoon motor mount and bushing kits, I rather just buy them in one package with all of them vs individually from the dealership. Not sure how much the price changed, but the Spoon integra motor mounts I bought in 2017 after all said and done was cheaper than buying every individual mount from Honda. (And now OEM are discontinued). The trailing arm bushing is also a different design and only about 20 dollars or so more than OEM...
How's that spoon flywheel? Does it make the car too twitchy to drive? Would you recommend it in a supercharged application? I was planning on doing the AP1 flywheel, and now I'm wondering if I should go even further and do the spoon. According to the interweave: AP2: 22 lbs AP1: 13.5 lbs Spoon: 9.2 lbs
It is lighter than the AP1. I would recommend the ap2 flywheel for a supercharger . The engine will drive smoother and there’s more control for idle plus with AC.
Can you explain why the S2000 emblems shift? Is it because it was put on after the panel was replaced? Or does it shift because of the heat of the sun or something?
I've only done 8 s2k clutches. 5 were stock and the other 3 kinda sucked, purposely not saying brand name because of price. The factory parts ARE very nice. I did a stock rebuilt engine for an old man that now has a s2k, that raced scca in the early 90s with gm. Cat back only on a engine out project. He had a different clutch before and ended up with crank walk. OEM is best unless you actually have a purpose built track car. In my opinion
i don’t even own a s2000 but still watch your videos when they come out, you or this channel deserves at least 1M subs IMO .

Same. Drove a 2003 s2000 and got hooked. Own a 2022 civic si right now and a 2019 civic si before that.

I think not having those customers reactions on film is worth more than on film. Those reactions are for you. No one else can have that feeling.

It says リジカラ = Ri Ji Ka Ra = rigid collar (grease for solid/rigid subframe spacers/bushings/collars I assume).

Spoon has always been hype.

They could have changed the the clamping load of the fulcrum point, it didn’t feel any different from stock. I’d like to think it’s different.

Almost every single s2000 has crocked emblems on the passenger side. I think the guy in the factory was enjoying too much saki

Some Spoon and Toda clutch discs looks like cheapy Exedy discs (depending on make/model car) 😂

Most are repainted and emblems installed incorrectly. In some cases , some of the passenger side ones are installed wrong in the factory.

Don’t feel bad, we work with out hands everyday and will be stronger. Take your time , it’s your car. No rush.
So that 15k spoon s2000 motor that they’re selling it’s probably just another stock motor?
They go through the motor and balance every component, basically take it to the next level.
