    This is definitely where I see most people fall in. It’s the launching and exiting of the boat literally sometimes. It’s so funny to watch people try to do it from the dock as well I always tell them that’s not how you want to get in your kayak. Do you want to do this at the boat ramp or the shoreline

    I am extremely lucky to live in a place where the state installs actual kayak launches and docks so the only time I have to mess around with launching is when I pull up on remote beaches and such. So glad I found this video for those few times though!

      @@ChadHooverFishing Idaho! Just about every dock anywhere in southern and east Idaho has kayak docks and launches. They are well maintained as well!

    You answered a huge question for this old man who isn't as svelte as he used to be. My mobility and balance slowly fades away as I get older, yet I am looking at kayaks to get me off the bank. I'm 67 and will retire in the near future and just want to spend my retirement years fishing. Thanks for this video. It makes complete sense and it wasn't intuitive, at least, not to me. But then, I'm not known to be a master of the obvious.

    Good advice. I also run few strips of duct tape down length. Keeps my hull protected and is cheap.

    I’m glad to see that I launch and land the proper way. I used to make the mistake of launching bow in first and landing bow first. Those concrete ramps are like cheese graters on a keel. Fortunately I learned after my first time. I learned a lot from TH-cam. Great video, thanks for the demo. Have fun out there and be safe.

    Great video. I just bought my first-ever kayak. I got a fishing kayak about a month and I've been rigging it for fishing. It should be water-ready sometime in April. Your method seems to be the best I've seen. Thanks.

    Great tip on entering and exiting the kayak Chad! Fortunately I was taught that quite a few years ago by someone I still fish with on a regular basis. It works and works well and saves wear and tear or at least some wear and tear on keel of my kayak!

    Great tip! Like you said "it sounds simple" and should be. Makes a lot of sense to me and definitely will save the kayak. The hard part will be breaking old habits of doing it the other way.

    Good info, Chad! This is pretty much akin to the proper canoe enter/exit methods except you have funnels you can brace the paddle across too.
    Broadside is definitely best!

    Hey Chad! Was wondering if we could get a full in dept tour of your amazingly cool kayak trailer.
    I know you got the short brief video of you picking up the trailer from the maker, but I was just wondering if maybe you could go a little more into detail then that video. Also, the tent I wanna see that tent setup and stuff haha.

      It’s pretty similar, you just have to do a little more “scooting” in a sit inside kayak.
