I just hope at least one member of the Fantastic Four makes it in. They’ve never had the chance to be in these games despite characters like Marrow and Bone Claw Wolverine making it in. If they could do all 4 as one roster slot, it’d be crazy. At this point, I’d take any of the FF over a Guardians character. For anyone that says Thing would be too similar to Hulk: The Hulk fights like a raging silverback; Thing is a street brawler that took up pro-wrestling in a superhuman wrestling federation. Mr Fantastic could have Dhalsim moves. A move similar to a Honda Slap, a command grab, and the Ultimate Nullifier as his hyper combo. The pre-fight dialogue between him and Doom would be perfect. Human Torch could be the zoner and flier with nova flames, fire blasts, air dashes. Admittedly, he’d probably be the most boring character to include but he could easily fill the Nova niche. Invisible Woman could be insanely powerful. Teleport move that’s her disappearing and reappearing, creating constructs like the Invisible Green Lantern that she is, giving her the Thanos bubble move from MVC2, and a hyper combo that renders her invisible. People really undersell the Fantastic Four’s battle IQ. Reed is a black belt in Judo, Ben is a wrestler, and Sue was trained by Iron Fist in using her forcefield constructs to create weapons.
I considered a couple Fantastic Four characters, and I nearly went with Silver Surfer over Green Goblin. I just felt that Doom has enough presence for the early roster, and future F4 characters could be later DLC. I should I have mentioned that in the video. I do agree, they'd be awesome. I really want Reed.
@@NosyBoyI think the big issue is that while I would love all 4 of them, it is 4 roster slots that could be used for other characters, but I’d easily settle for just Reed with moves and hyper combos that call in his family. I believe the issue with them getting into MVC3 was that Marvel had an all or nothing policy with them being in the game. Capcom just wanted Human Torch, but Marvel mandated that they had to include all of them, which makes sense. Unlike Avengers and X-Men they aren’t a sprawling pantheon of revolving members, they’ve had reserve members like T’Challa, Storm, She Hulk, Crystal, but the main 4 are the draw.
And Blade , Carnage and The Punisher.and for the Capcom side Power Stone character s Nero from Devil May Cry ,Ashura from Ashura Wrath Mega Man EX Rival School's character s. And Gill from Street Fighter 3
I think a 50 starting roster is reasonable and good to ask for with maybe 10 characters each as dlc/a rerelease expansion like MVC 3 to UMVC 3. A total of 70 characters would fit well with a 3v3.
Capcom almost always listens to the fans, but you can’t have everything. Also it’s gonna be in the second Capcom fighting game collection anyways so wdym?
Personally, I think OG Megaman should of been added instead of X. Considering that Zero is a Megaman X rep, it can show a big diverse cast of the Megaman series. Megaman was in the new collection yes, but I don't think that should factor in as X already had been in the last games that Mvc had
I agree that Spider-Man is way overdue for a third rep, though personally I think I'd prefer Doc Ock over Goblin. I feel like there's more you can do with robot tentacles, and he was super close to making it into 3, so I think he's overdue in that regard. Otherwise this is a pretty solid roster. Only real nitpick is the lack of silly oddball characters along the lines of Shuma Gorath and MODOK. Hence why we should have Howard the Duck lol Anyways I'd play Gambit, X, and Strider.
As much as I'd love to see Demitri playable it's gonna be a pain having to animate female versions of every Marvel character (I could see Cap turning into Sharon Rogers, Wolverine into X-23, Hulk into She-Hulk, Thor into Jane Foster Thor, etc) for his Midnight Bliss So it should be either Raptor, Donovan, Hood, Anakaris or Talbain
The Fantastic 4 characters should have been added to the grid or extend the grid to add them as well as some or all Spider-Man Villains to rep. Introduce Blade as well, in fact bring them all back and still include the characters i mentioned above as well as new and old bosses.
What we need is a balance between X-Men and SF characters, to ensure they don't oversaturate the roster, so 6 and 6 should be enough (they can add more as DLC down the line)

I think Akuma and Manon (Street Fighter) and Claire Redfield (Resident Evil). Solid list! One thing I realized now that I look back is that the Marvel side of the roster always has so few female fighters. UMVC3 had four (X23, Storm, Phoenix, and She-Hulk) and MVCI had three (Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Gamora). What do you think of Thena from Eternals as a possible base or DLC? She's from the MCU but not an Avenger, and the Mahd Wy'ry can be an interesting install for her similar to Dark Phoenix.
Capcom and Sony should just do a Spider-Man fighting game. That way you could have the Sinister 6 and more symbiotes. Scream and Carnage perhaps. Gwen, Miles and Miguel too. Big boss obviously Knull.
Jubilee definitely deserves to be finally playable, since she was one if the new helpers first included in MvC, along with Thor. Thor made it later in MvC 3, but she did not! Not fair!

Jin Saotome would be such a cool addition to a new Marvel vs. Capcom game! His mech-based moves and Blodia Punch were fan favorites in MVC2, and bringing him back would hit that perfect nostalgia. Plus, his crazy mix of fighting and calling in a giant robot would add some awesome variety to the roster. He'd fit right in with all the flashy mechanics, and his over-the-top style would make him stand out against the other characters. Definitely a solid pick for old-school fans and new players alike!

Coming from someone whose favorite superhero team is the Fantastic Four, they pose difficulties. Even if one of these TH-camrs does remember that they’re a thing-but most of them are obsessed with the 90s and don’t care for marvel besides the MCU and the X-Men Cartoon-once you include one member of the F4, you kinda feel obligated to include the rest of them. Those 4 roster slots are valuable and could be used on a wider pool of characters. You could make them a four-in-one fighter, but then you have the problem of most of these rosters including Captain Commando, and you really can’t have two characters that both have such a unique gimmick like that. Personally, I’d put the Thing or Invisible Woman in and then have the rest of them as hyper combos.
@@hasthehighground8560 Thank you for your kind response. I totally get that the Fantastic Four in their entirety seems like a bit of an ask. 4 characters is a lot. However, across the entire franchise, there's been 20 playable X-Men characters, not counting bosses, assists, stages and cameos. They are well and truly represented in the series. In that context, I don't think letting some lesser X-Men, Avengers or stand-alone characters slide to make room for the four is all that unreasonable. Combining them like the Ginyu Force in DBFZ also doesn't sit right with me. They're individual people, as much as any X-Men or Avenger, and deserve being playable as such. Ultimately, you need to make compromises to get a roster together, and the F4 have gotten the short end of the stick for literal decades. I'd say it's time they got their due, even if just for this one entry. Once they're all playable together in one game, then you can start combining them for sequels.

Just finished the video (I'd just started the video when I left my last comment). Onnthe overall, I agree with your list! You made a lot of hype choices that I think would get people excited! As I basically confirmed in my last comment, the only legacy character/franchise I'd super want to return with no concessions is Viewtiful Joe since I feel his series best embodies the spirit of what this franchise is all about!
Capcom need to make a proper Marvel vs. Capcom game in 2.5D like The Street Fighter 2 HD Remix. If it is 3D then I'm not even gonna play or buy it because I know its gonna suck!
I'd like to see Beast for Marvel/X-men. With his size, speed, and acrobatic skills, he'd be a great multifaceted character. Capcom has completely ignored Samanosuke from Onimusha. He'd be perfect for a fighting game. With his samurai skills, elemental weapons, soul absorbing gauntlet, bow and arrow, mathlock rifle, and his ogre form as a hyper, he'd be an awesome character. Here's hoping for dlc at the very least. 🤞🏻

Personally would like Nero, Punisher, Daredevil, Gene, Black Knight, Ayame(Power Stone), Elektra Natchios, Strider Hien, Demitri Maximoff, Star Lord, Blade, Edward Falcon, Dimitrescu, Bishop, Jubilee, and Samanosuke as part of the Newcomers
Overall pretty cool roster. Not sure who my team would be, since I like messing around with every character in a roster. Maybe Spidey, Marissa, and Ammy? Im super nostalgic for the old Spider-Man movies, I like big ladies, and Okami’s art style goes super hard, so those three are all appealing to me. Idea for the DMC characters: save Vergil for DLC (doesn’t have to be first season), and have Nero take his place in the base roster. You want to be the busted-ass character who terrorized Ultimate? That’ll be 7 bucks, please. Plus Nero’s robot arm would allow him to stand out from the other trench coat wearers. I also kinda want Captain Commando and Captain Marvel in a game together, purely for the joke of having “Marvel” vs “CapCom” in a Marvel vs Capcom game. I don’t even have any attachment to the characters otherwise, I just like puns.
Man Mystique would've been perfect as she could add a whole new dynamic and with her shapeshifting ability she could be other characters that maybe couldn't make it into the slots scratching that itch most fans wanting specific characters would have.
I'm not gonna lie, I got almost very excited to see the Capcom side being pretty much what I want for MvC 4, until I later see that both Haggar and Frank West were both excluded from the roster. I wonder why that was the case, though? 🤔
Since MVCI didn't call itself MVC4, it doesn't count as a numbered entry. If we wanna get real technical, because of X-Men vs SF and Marvel Superheroes vs SF, the next one would be MVC7.
Pre DLC I’d main Jubilee, Ameterasu & Storm. Gambit would pop in once DLC hit. Next DLC I’d add are Rogue (X-Men), Kimberly (SF6) and Haggar(FF) for nostalgia. Always up for more Darkstalkers showing up too.
I mean Sparking Zero has 180+ playable character, with both Capcom and Marvel's plethora of games, if they just slam all of it in a single game, it would be insane. Just take out all the tier zero characters like Cable, Magneto etc and all that shenanigans, or just make all the character crazy and viable.
It's a solid roster, but as much as people love Alcina, Miranda should take her spot. She's the head of the family and the RE7 final boss (primary reason as to why they added Wesker back in MvC3) and could call upon the rest of the family as assists Edgeworth as DLC? You already have Wright and that should be enough Newcomers from the Marvel side should definetly include Agents of Atlas, one Inhuman, new X-Men and, at least, one Ant-Man series rep As for Capcom, we could explore obscure games like Red Earth, Breath of Fire, MM Battle Network, Zero series or Starforce, Star Gladiator, Rival Schools or even Battle Circuit

Except, that my roster is bigger (too many characters to include) and I chose Magik on my list, instead of Jubilee (but I considered her). There was several differences on the Capcom side, but It's also pretty much on the same page. Except I included Juri and Luke, but you're right. Marisa is much better. 😀
The characters on your Marvel side of the list I don’t have on mine is Loki, Storm, Thor, Rocket/Groot, Black Panther, and Green Goblin. I did put in Night Crawler, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Miles Morales, Mysterio, Thing, and Yondu. Capcom side of things there were a lot more differences especially when it comes to Darkstalkers, imagine Demitri’s Midnight Bliss, or V instead of Virgil, Apollo instead of Phoenix and Miles, and get some Rival Schools reps

An interesting lineup… honestly I would be happy to see Spider Gwen get a chance to bash some faces in, though that might just be the inner fan boy in me, and Hayato from Marvel 2! And I actually hope the roster is massive because just like Pokémon, I wanna catch ‘em all :D but mostly I just think it will help give rise to a greater diversity of team/play styles, of course, I do realize it gets harder to achieve good character balance the more characters there are which of course promotes a crap ton of players out there fighting eachother with the exact same characters… anyway, that’s just my opinion

the last marvel vs capcom i played was the first one way back when i was a kid playing in arcades. i will definitely at least buy the game if they make jubilee as a playable character. also psylocke too since shes been around for so long, i just loved her skills and combos in the first x-men fighting game and the marvel fighting game way way back.

Interesting roster choices. For DLC; on the Marvel side: Carnage, War Machine, and Iceman. On the Capcom side: Demitri, Ken, and Batsu. On a side note, you should also do a Capcom vs SNK 3 roster concept. As that game is much more inevitable than MVC4 given the crossover re-releases by both SNK and Capcom.
Viewtiful Joe is literally THE character for this type of game. He's a Capcom character that has countless influences from other Capcom properties (especially DMC, their beat-em-ups, and Mega Man) that just as much celebrates comic books, movies, and superheroes. All of these things incorporate what people would associate with Marvel nowadays. He has a blend of Japanese and American heritage. I would just hope Capcom would put in at least one other VJ character if they brought that series back for MvC since there are a BUNCH of other VJ characters they could use that would play extremely differently instead of only using Joe for the 5,000,000th time. The Black Emperor is actually my #1 most wishlisted character, who would play like a fusion between his VJ2 and VJ Red Hot Rumble incarnations!
They should make it 3d, but also have a comic book style alternative, would be hard to do, but if we are essentially getting another marvel vs capcom, we need something big like this.
As far as proposed starting rosters go, I think this is the most realistic and fair that I’ve seen yet. My only critique would be it’s a little “X” heavy, and Marvel would definitely request more synergy with upcoming movies like F4, but overall this has me hyped.

With the popularity of the Alien franchise currently( Romulus movie and Avengers vs Aliens comic); I would love to see Linn Kurosawa from Capcoms' Aliens vs Predator. If she had a moveset similar to Jill in mvc2 you could cameo xenomorphs and Predators. She technically reps for both Marvel and Capcom for licensing. The dads would love it.

Ima reach and say that I want Soh/Yoshiro from that Kunitsu-Gami game. They have tons of moveset potential and even costume potential with the Okami costume (because Amaterasu NEEDS to be in MVC 4).
I really think MvC would benefit from Smash's concept of Echo Fighters - characters with identical movesets as some pre-existing ones but different special effects and voice acting (which would be significantly cheaper for the developers). Just from this video's roster, I think we could easily add 10 more characters to the game as Echos: - Miles Edgeworth (Phoenix Wright) - Male Monster Hunter (different monster's armor and weapons as female) - Megaman Zero (Zero) - Lilith (Morrigan) - Hunk (Leon) - Spider-Gwen (Spider-Man, as I think Miles should be it's own DLC) - Carnage (Venom) - War Machine (Iron Man) - Jane Foster (Thor) - Lady Deadpool (Deadpool) It could be a shame that some of these characters wouldn't have their own moveset, but I'd much prefer this over not having them playable at all!
I think Capcom has already been working on a new Marvel vs Capcom, just like how they had already been working on Marvel vs Capcom 3 for a year before MvC2 came out on XBOX Live. The Marvel vs Capcom Collection seems like a good indicator something bigger has probably been brewing behind the scenes for a while.
I feel like 30 characters is way too restrictive for a new MvC and it would just lead to the roster feeling too safe or samey to MvC3, but this roster makes sense if for some reason they restricted the roster to only 30. Pretty realistic picks. I only really disagree with Marisa or the notion that MvC needs an SF6 character. Though if I were forced by Capcom to include an SF6 character, I would rather go with Aki due to her popularity, cool design, and cool moveset that I think would fit like a glove in MvC.
mvc for fans is about spectacle and celebrating a golden age, not about modern or future projects. Wishlist: -bring back the original spritework -Use the original 56 characters from mvc2 and add more... -Add all characters that are passable in the alpha series art style (darkstalkers, streetfighter alpha 3, red earth etc etc) -Add the cut and planned characters (thor, jubilee, howard the duck, norimaru, etc) -use backgrounds from children of the atom, xmen vs streetfighter, sf alpha and mvc1 (no crappy 3d backgrounds). -variants instead of assist types (eg. wolverine, bone claw wolverine; ryu, dark ryu; spiderman, black suit spiderman, armored spiderman; captain america, US Agent) -choose between 3v3 or 2v2 (like mvc1)

Right now the marvel vs Capcom fighting collection is really making money right now and I do also say my free marvel vs Capcom 4
I think a 50 starting roster is reasonable and good to ask for with maybe 10 characters each as dlc/a rerelease expansion like MVC 3 to UMVC 3. A total of 70 characters would fit well with a 3v3.

One thing I realized now that I look back is that the Marvel side of the roster always has so few female fighters. UMVC3 had four (X23, Storm, Phoenix, and She-Hulk) and MVCI had three (Black Widow, Captain Marvel, and Gamora). What do you think of Thena from Eternals as a possible base or DLC? She's from the MCU but not an Avenger, and the Mahd Wy'ry can be an interesting install for her similar to Dark Phoenix.

Jubilee definitely deserves to be finally playable, since she was one if the new helpers first included in MvC, along with Thor. Thor made it later in MvC 3, but she did not! Not fair!

Jin Saotome would be such a cool addition to a new Marvel vs. Capcom game! His mech-based moves and Blodia Punch were fan favorites in MVC2, and bringing him back would hit that perfect nostalgia. Plus, his crazy mix of fighting and calling in a giant robot would add some awesome variety to the roster. He'd fit right in with all the flashy mechanics, and his over-the-top style would make him stand out against the other characters. Definitely a solid pick for old-school fans and new players alike!

Coming from someone whose favorite superhero team is the Fantastic Four, they pose difficulties.
Even if one of these TH-camrs does remember that they’re a thing-but most of them are obsessed with the 90s and don’t care for marvel besides the MCU and the X-Men Cartoon-once you include one member of the F4, you kinda feel obligated to include the rest of them. Those 4 roster slots are valuable and could be used on a wider pool of characters.
You could make them a four-in-one fighter, but then you have the problem of most of these rosters including Captain Commando, and you really can’t have two characters that both have such a unique gimmick like that.
Personally, I’d put the Thing or Invisible Woman in and then have the rest of them as hyper combos.

I totally get that the Fantastic Four in their entirety seems like a bit of an ask. 4 characters is a lot. However, across the entire franchise, there's been 20 playable X-Men characters, not counting bosses, assists, stages and cameos. They are well and truly represented in the series. In that context, I don't think letting some lesser X-Men, Avengers or stand-alone characters slide to make room for the four is all that unreasonable.
Combining them like the Ginyu Force in DBFZ also doesn't sit right with me. They're individual people, as much as any X-Men or Avenger, and deserve being playable as such.
Ultimately, you need to make compromises to get a roster together, and the F4 have gotten the short end of the stick for literal decades. I'd say it's time they got their due, even if just for this one entry. Once they're all playable together in one game, then you can start combining them for sequels.
And one's more way people don't talk about hey "If we have the Hulk way they Hulk in Marvel vs Capcom game doesn't have he's rival The Abomination" man I would love to see for the first time Abomination in Marvel vs Capcom 4 Games I'm only see him on mode but I want to see him officially in the game

As I basically confirmed in my last comment, the only legacy character/franchise I'd super want to return with no concessions is Viewtiful Joe since I feel his series best embodies the spirit of what this franchise is all about!

I'd like to see Beast for Marvel/X-men. With his size, speed, and acrobatic skills, he'd be a great multifaceted character. Capcom has completely ignored Samanosuke from Onimusha. He'd be perfect for a fighting game. With his samurai skills, elemental weapons, soul absorbing gauntlet, bow and arrow, mathlock rifle, and his ogre form as a hyper, he'd be an awesome character. Here's hoping for dlc at the very least. 🤞🏻

Overall pretty cool roster. Not sure who my team would be, since I like messing around with every character in a roster. Maybe Spidey, Marissa, and Ammy? Im super nostalgic for the old Spider-Man movies, I like big ladies, and Okami’s art style goes super hard, so those three are all appealing to me.
Idea for the DMC characters: save Vergil for DLC (doesn’t have to be first season), and have Nero take his place in the base roster. You want to be the busted-ass character who terrorized Ultimate? That’ll be 7 bucks, please. Plus Nero’s robot arm would allow him to stand out from the other trench coat wearers.
I also kinda want Captain Commando and Captain Marvel in a game together, purely for the joke of having “Marvel” vs “CapCom” in a Marvel vs Capcom game. I don’t even have any attachment to the characters otherwise, I just like puns.

I did put in Night Crawler, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Miles Morales, Mysterio, Thing, and Yondu. Capcom side of things there were a lot more differences especially when it comes to Darkstalkers, imagine Demitri’s Midnight Bliss, or V instead of Virgil, Apollo instead of Phoenix and Miles, and get some Rival Schools reps

Viewtiful Joe is literally THE character for this type of game. He's a Capcom character that has countless influences from other Capcom properties (especially DMC, their beat-em-ups, and Mega Man) that just as much celebrates comic books, movies, and superheroes. All of these things incorporate what people would associate with Marvel nowadays. He has a blend of Japanese and American heritage.
I would just hope Capcom would put in at least one other VJ character if they brought that series back for MvC since there are a BUNCH of other VJ characters they could use that would play extremely differently instead of only using Joe for the 5,000,000th time. The Black Emperor is actually my #1 most wishlisted character, who would play like a fusion between his VJ2 and VJ Red Hot Rumble incarnations!
They should make it 3d, but also have a comic book style alternative, would be hard to do, but if we are essentially getting another marvel vs capcom, we need something big like this.

As far as proposed starting rosters go, I think this is the most realistic and fair that I’ve seen yet. My only critique would be it’s a little “X” heavy, and Marvel would definitely request more synergy with upcoming movies like F4, but overall this has me hyped.

Marisa but no Felicia? Nah, man. I was enjoying the video until I saw this. The lack of characters from Red Earth, Star Gladiator, CyberBots, Rival Schools, and Onimusha is also jarring. Just one Darkstalker!? Nope, nope, nope.
With the popularity of the Alien franchise currently( Romulus movie and Avengers vs Aliens comic); I would love to see Linn Kurosawa from Capcoms' Aliens vs Predator. If she had a moveset similar to Jill in mvc2 you could cameo xenomorphs and Predators. She technically reps for both Marvel and Capcom for licensing. The dads would love it.

Ima reach and say that I want Soh/Yoshiro from that Kunitsu-Gami game. They have tons of moveset potential and even costume potential with the Okami costume (because Amaterasu NEEDS to be in MVC 4).
I really think MvC would benefit from Smash's concept of Echo Fighters - characters with identical movesets as some pre-existing ones but different special effects and voice acting (which would be significantly cheaper for the developers).
Just from this video's roster, I think we could easily add 10 more characters to the game as Echos:
- Miles Edgeworth (Phoenix Wright)
- Male Monster Hunter (different monster's armor and weapons as female)
- Megaman Zero (Zero)
- Lilith (Morrigan)
- Hunk (Leon)
- Spider-Gwen (Spider-Man, as I think Miles should be it's own DLC)
- Carnage (Venom)
- War Machine (Iron Man)
- Jane Foster (Thor)
- Lady Deadpool (Deadpool)
It could be a shame that some of these characters wouldn't have their own moveset, but I'd much prefer this over not having them playable at all!
I think Capcom has already been working on a new Marvel vs Capcom, just like how they had already been working on Marvel vs Capcom 3 for a year before MvC2 came out on XBOX Live. The Marvel vs Capcom Collection seems like a good indicator something bigger has probably been brewing behind the scenes for a while.

I feel like 30 characters is way too restrictive for a new MvC and it would just lead to the roster feeling too safe or samey to MvC3, but this roster makes sense if for some reason they restricted the roster to only 30. Pretty realistic picks. I only really disagree with Marisa or the notion that MvC needs an SF6 character. Though if I were forced by Capcom to include an SF6 character, I would rather go with Aki due to her popularity, cool design, and cool moveset that I think would fit like a glove in MvC.
I dont know what a Dino Crisis is but if Regina siccs some dinosaurs on ppl like Jill w the Zombies I'm invested 😂
mvc for fans is about spectacle and celebrating a golden age, not about modern or future projects.
Wishlist:
-bring back the original spritework
-Use the original 56 characters from mvc2 and add more...
-Add all characters that are passable in the alpha series art style (darkstalkers, streetfighter alpha 3, red earth etc etc)
-Add the cut and planned characters (thor, jubilee, howard the duck, norimaru, etc)
-use backgrounds from children of the atom, xmen vs streetfighter, sf alpha and mvc1 (no crappy 3d backgrounds).
-variants instead of assist types (eg. wolverine, bone claw wolverine; ryu, dark ryu; spiderman, black suit spiderman, armored spiderman; captain america, US Agent)
-choose between 3v3 or 2v2 (like mvc1)
If they switch back to sprites roster could easily balloon to 80 base characters but to take it up a notch…. Guest characters!!!! Omg
Although I'd like to see Thanos, Psylocke and another rep from Darkstalkers, I love how complete the roster feels, overall a top tier roster
