In 2000, a classic book called Bowling Alone came out and argued that people up to the 1990s joined more civic, charity, and religious groups for social contact (e.g. bowling league, church, Rotarians, Kiwanis, PTA). Now, with people not joining these groups, you see them turning to social media for connection. There is no connection there, just strangers.

No offense, but y’all need to do your research (though to be fair most outlets are reporting incorrectly about the family dynamics). Jennifer is not their bio mom, though if I had to guess she stepped in and adopted the youngest. Their bio mom is on Facebook with recent pictures of the girls so it appears they have a relationship with her. A Google search reveals that bio mom had a difficult past of felony drug addiction and participated in an intensive 3 year “ last chance” program whereby her record would be expunged upon completion - and she passed it in 2022 and by all appearances seems yo be doing well. So, thankfully the girls DO have a parent remaining, though I’m sure they are both absolutely devastated to lose both their father and the most consistent and present mother-figure they have ever had.

I wonder if that was really her mindset or if she was portraying a postive image online. She had to tell everyone one way or another and some people's worst fear is seeming like a victim or seeming like they don't have their whole life together.

Im from the same area as her and its really sad because girls are raised to have a more traditional mindset and to trust/follow the men in their lives. She was particularly vulnerable because we're made to feel like we're worthless as women if we can't find a husband and have kids.

In all honesty, when I was watching her last video post, I got the feeling that she was choosing her words very carefully, which is fine, but for a woman that may have recently left her husband, especially if he was borderline abusive, she would be still working hard to maintain calm waters. In my opinion, her video kind of reflects that. I could be wrong, but that was my gut reaction when I saw it.

I'm sure he supported her going back to school. Though it sounded like she worked as well,,, and we don't know WHY she asked for a separation,,I'm sure he felt devastated and used . Not that murder is ever the answer... and like I said before. He was probably being "so wonderful" about the entire situation because he hoped they would reconcile and when he realized it wasn't going to happen, he killed her.
