I was halfway thru the video before I figured out there was no audio, so it wasn't that big a deal. I think it made it easier to follow along. I actually like for there to be very little in the way of sound/insesent chatter/silly music. (I think most people are afraid of their own thoughts and so when there is too much silence they have to listen to what's actually going on inside their heads!) I thought you did quite well. The only thing I would change is to add a materials list. (Some people also want every little thing spelled out for them. I guess it keeps them from heating up those few brain cells they have.) 😉
please add audio to video that helps a lot of people out more then you know. also I'm wondering as everyone else, is the India or Native American Indian. I guess it could be used either way just different materials. thanks
I do believe it is an India Indian not american indian but i may be wrong. i do not remember american indians making baskets out of string but i have seen this done with straw as well by american indians. i cant say. all i know was it was called indian basket weaving and i did not push to inquire further when i learned how.
I have wondered how a coiled basket is held together so well. I harvested some sedge last season and have tried to coil with it, but I guess the key is covering it all with another material. Thanks.
This is so good - PLEASE add the audio so we can follow along. What kind of core are you using? Plain rope? Video number 4 does not completely finish the project. Do you have video that finishes it? THANKS!
Don't judge me but the entire time I watched this video all I could think about was Wanda and Cosmo off fairy odd parents lol. I'm watching too much cartoons w/my kids lol smh.
You know I get more positive than negative on here... I am very happy that you and much more of the people who watch my videos are so decent and positive. I try to be positive as much as I can. I hope the video helped :-) and I hope your classes are going well.
yeah im so sorry about that it was windy that day and i didn't realise it would be so badly recorded so i muted it now i wish i had put a voice over on it
Hi Would Of Like This this Tutorial Alot Better If It Had Audio To It; I believe or guessing it had some audio to it because at various Intervals in the video it appears as though you were saying something while pointing to that particular area in the video tutorial; but I have to admit if they were Audio to you Video I didn't even hear a thing; this is just a suggestion or enlightenment in response to your video if you know what I mean. Anyways I Look Forward To Your Response A.S.A.P & TAFS In Advance It Was kind of Interesting.
OK congratulations. I split it into parts because I made the entire basket but it took me longer than 45 minutes... more like 2 weeks or so. then again I don't have much time to sit and just sew.
I love Part 2,3,4 and 5 of your Indian basket weaving BUT for some reason I can't hear the audio of part 1. Is there any way you can send this to me or tell me what is different about part 1 over all the other sections? I am an art teacher and I plan on using your videos to help explain things to my students along with my own demonstration. I have another video I can use for showing them how to start a basket, but it would be great to be able to hear your version.. Any suggestions???
Donna Weber I'm sorry that day was windy so I cut the audio ... There are other videos in my playlist called "for my art classes" that have step by step audio
Shirley Manulak sorry about that I did make another video in my "for my art classes" play list about this with sound the wind was so strong that day it messed up the sound
Nancy Strand I'm very sorry ... It was windy that day so I removed the sound. But there are other videos I made in a play list called "for my art classes" that have verbal instructions
I'm not going to try it but it actually looks really cool and it's a good idea so thank you for doing it and I'm not I don't like I don't like this ascribe sorry I'm not subscribing my bye have a good rest of the day and I met this probably is late but I don't really care so you have by and also have a good day again as I say it again goodbye
I found myself staring at this person's nails. Call me shallow, but lose what's left of the fake nails before turning on the camera. It's distracting, and coupled with the audio mistake, caused me to lose interest
I think she's left the one coloured nail on, so that we could see which was left and which was right. It would have been much better with the audio on as well.
+Meeshie Galeen It's none of our business how she makes her nails look while she shows this video. She didn't have to do it at all. Perhaps when her nails were to your liking, she wouldn't be in the mood to make the video!
lol all of them were fake that was the only one with colour because I couldn't get the colour off cause I had sprayed my finger with some cap I was using to make some craft project ... that's why it's still on lol but OK
With the sound this would be fantastic!
Sorry about that but if you check my "for my art classes" playlist you will find other videos like this with sound
Wow good 👍👍👍
I think this video was awesome...very easy to follow. Thanks so much!!!

Not to be funny but this actually took me 45 minutes I don't why you spilt into parts
OK congratulations. I split it into parts because I made the entire basket but it took me longer than 45 minutes... more like 2 weeks or so. then again I don't have much time to sit and just sew.
Hi, Catriona The sound isn't working in this 1st part. Could you fix it? Thanks!
Actually I made another video ... This video doesn't have sound because people were always complaining about wind
There is another video in my "for my art classes" playlist that shows this same thing with sound
Thanks! :)

Fantástico!
Question: You refer to this style of basket weaving as "Indian"
Would that be American Indian? or from India? Thanks.

Anyone else extremely lost? :/
well what type of rope
you can use any type of rope similar to the one demonstrated on the video. For instance I am using SISAL rope and it works just fine.
that rope is made from nylon... just don't use one that is too flexible because the basket wont be tight.
yeah i need to voice over this one and load it again cause there is no sound sorry for that
She keeps pointing and showing I don't know what.
No volume at all?🤔
