Just a great axe, have the Wildlife hatchet and the Hunters axe, and to be fair, I find myself chosing the hunters axe every time when going out hiking in the wildernes. Wildlife hatchet mostly gets used in the backyard for carving and light chopping. You sir earned yourself a subscription because of the skinning, so well done for showing it for one of its intended uses. Alot of people forget that its intended as a lightweight multitool for Hunters :) Cheers from a Norwegian living in Sweden.
Good footage! You are 100% right. Here in Germany hunters call it therefore "knocking game out of its hide". That's how it was done for ages! Thank you for this education! Cheers, K.
Really nice demonstration with the poll❤. That opening scenery was amazing. That Hunters Axe is amazing. I just ordered one from a store in England. Happy Halloween🎃
Great video and it’s good to see you showing the axe doing what it was designed for, getting in and dirty to put that dinner on the table. I’m going to try and get one as soon as I can. Thanks for the information, stay safe 🤘
I don't know what I find more intriguing; the fact that you can actually skin a deer with an axe, or the fact you have had that hat so long that it has lost it's shape
A polled tomahawk and knife comes to mind. I've carried a hawk with me for quite a while now when deer hunting. it really simplifies things at all stages of processing a deer.
That's outstanding! I've also got the same axe from the same maker and it gets the job done and then some! I love mine and cycle between it and my custom tomahawk. I put a slightly rounded poll on the hawk for the same reason but left a little flat space so it can still be used as a hammer. It now can flay and hammer just fine. The hunters axe is an outstanding design. Thank you so much for taking the time to do the video 😊
Just ran across your channel looking at the hunters axe. Great explanation and a much needed video here on TH-cam. Thanks for taking the time. Subscribed.
Thank so much we appreciate it!!! I think some folks don’t understand why the axe was designed as it is. I hope this will shed some light on its intended use.
Good Day, thank you so much for sharing your video on your GB Hunters Axe. I am thinking to purchase this type of axe for such a purpose and can be used for other axe purposes. Blessings from the Philippines 🇵🇭
Thanks Keith. I have wanted one for a couple of years, since I first saw one. But like you said, about $200 for a small ax, hard to pull that trigger. God Bless and stay safe.
Great video. I have been looking at a hunting axe and was looking for a video of putting one to use. Best of luck with the axe and your hunting adventures
Love your videos, your keeping it real and connected to the natural world 👍🏻 qualities you just don’t get from all the wooden cup coffee drinkers out there 😂😂 always look forward to when you upload.
Great video however I highly doubt that head is 2lbs when the granfors forest axe head is isn't even 2lbs yet at 1¾lbs I'd guess this head is closer to 1½lbs
Finally, someone actually using the hunters axe for its purpose. Thank you for the great video!!

No idea why you think some people wouldn’t like your video!? Very informative and just the advice I was looking for. Thank you from NZ!

When you put it to that work, its clear what an impressive tool that is.
Amazing video. Thanks for the insight!
Ive been wanting one of those GB hunters axes. Watching you skin a deer with one just convinced me that I need one. Thanks for sharing.
I use the heck out of this one , you won’t be sorry
Agreed! I have the GB Scandinavian Forest axe and it my favorite axe.
Very cool video, and thank you for demonstrating this technique on here! Weidmannsheil from Europe!
I own this little axe myself. Love it's functionality. Great vid. 💪🏾🇺🇲
Now I know. Thanks for the education.
Really nice demonstration with the poll❤. That opening scenery was amazing. That Hunters Axe is amazing. I just ordered one from a store in England. Happy Halloween🎃
That was really interesting I have never seen a deer 🦌 processed with an ax. I also never knew why the ax had a rounded back. Thank you.
Really nice I am getting one. Best video out there for what it is used for, well done🎃❤

It’s a great little multi use axe
I've been searching for this exact video for some time. Thank you for doing that. Going to be a future edition to my tools soon.
Thank you for showing how to use the hunter's axe great video.
Thank you !!
Finally, someone that uses this axe as intended in all it's glory.
I don't know what I find more intriguing; the fact that you can actually skin a deer with an axe, or the fact you have had that hat so long that it has lost it's shape
😂 it’s had a rough life
Nice demo, thanks for sharing.

Love that I needed that today out on ossabaw island

Great video! I've been humming and hawing on getting the gransfors hunters, I think you helped make up my mind. Super!
Woot ! Might be my favorite Ramshackle vid to date. I’m a gonna have to take a floppy disk to a hatchet pole and five that a try.
Youll want it for that big boy you have pics of!
Made my week! Thank for the demo!
I have the same axe from the same maker (MS) Fun to see it in action.
My favorite axe by far

Thanks for sharing, My dad bought me this axe over 20 years ago, it is still my go to and one of my favorite tools I own.
They are great little axes!
Nothing I won't do with my Hudson Bay Axe for the past 45 years.
Nice job!
Thanks for that, really informative and helpful to see how that hatchet can/should be used.
Nice work. I’ve seen a lot of guys who couldn’t do that well with a knife.
finally some one that uses what they review on you tube

Worth every penny.
Worth every penny.!
@@RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen I'm thinking a special Christmas Gift!?!?
I might be able to justify buying one of those axes now!
Holds an unbelievable edge! I’ve used this one a great deal in 2 1/2yrs
Thank you for your work! Awesome!
Thanks for watching!
Thank you. I think it’ll help a lot on wild hog here in Florida. You’ve convinced me.
nice video, thanks
Great video. I have been looking at a hunting axe and was looking for a video of putting one to use. Best of luck with the axe and your hunting adventures
Děkuji za pěknou ukázku, jak se sekera používá. 👍
Great video! I almost got that axe but went with the Seven Pines Forge outside axe instead.
Thanks and I’ll have to check them out
🔥🔥 what a real deal review! I’m gettin one
Watched the whole video and it is Awesome!!!! Subbed!!!! Hey!!!! I am Keith too! 😂
AWESOME

Thanks so much!!!
This is sweet
May well follow because you did skin a deer with an axe!
Great work. How does the Hunter’s Axe do driving stakes into the ground?
It’s not the best at that with the polled head. You can do it though!
It does work well doesn't I?
I skinned an otter with it last year !
@@RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen dang! That's some delicate work there. I use a caping knife lol
I just carry a tomahawk where I’m located in Oklahoma I have no use for a axe
Did you make that hat yourself? I like it.
It’s an old felt hat blank.
Why would we hate this? I never realized or thought you could do that with an axe. Pretty interesting
Some folks get a little upset about animal processing. You can do it with any sharp axe, however that one is built to do it with. Thanks for watching!
@@RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen Yeah, well its their loss and good riddance. We cant tiptoe around those who choose delusion over reality.
In your opinion did it save time or effort?
About the same. I could see it helping on a truly large animal though
Can you separate the chest with that axe or will it damage the edge?
Hey Keith I see you wearing that hat everywhere, where did you get it?
Traded a moonshine jug for it years ago ( True Story) but I think Jas Townsend and sons still sells blanks.
@@RamshackleHomesteadKeithandJen haha that's awesome and thanks

Flaying poll, not “flailing” poll…
Awesome
