yeah that cyclone was rad. i was super close to making a similar one a couple years back because warmoth had a black mustang body with the white racing stripe in stock and before i could buy it, someone nabbed it. maybe some day!
I hate that he customized some of those guitars right before he sold them. Id want them as he played them. Not some half assed art project after the fact.
I've been looking through live performances where Tom used the orange Adam's song strat and I noticed the orange/painted one has more pick guard screws, where as the one he used live had less like most of the others in the video. Obviously not definitive because a different pick guard isn't an impossibility, but just wanted to mention it.
I remember the auction very well, the worst thing was that yellow mexican strat ''super rare - never played'' for 5000$. He probably got a truckload of the actual mexican models back in the day, didn't even touched them (still with the hangtags) and tried to sell it for 10 times the amount it is worth. That was a dick move. Otherwise I wanted the red boxcar ES and the dark blue Strat with the heart sticker so freakin bad!
from what i hear, the yellow mexi strat was so early that the serial doesnt even register with fender. so i dont know if he had THAT many. maybe one of each color or something.

I also dont think that reissued app guitar was the orange 90s strat either, not only it had the different bridge, but it also had a different neck on it. i just reconfirmed that the red 335 is still in "the pursuit of tone" with the original stickers. and the sale was in 2015. the pursuit of tone came out in like 2016 i think and theres pics of tom using the one he sold here, back in the day with clearly the "fuck" written on it. so theres no way theres only 1. thanks for the tip of the broken heart strat. i'll reach out!
littleredguitars2 I was thinking when he said the Triple and cabs were half his golden age rig he meant the other half was the JCM 900 he had also hooked up in the standard rig. But I could be wrong.
hey love the videos! i have a epiphone les paul i been thinking of putting dirty fingers and the seymour duncan neck invaders in...thoughts? really like how they both sound. I use super slinkys and a line 6 half stack...nothing special but it all sounds good for what i like to play. any advice would be awesome....again great vids bro keep it up
Tom had two BCR guitars, just look live from Warfield video on chesh channel, you'll see, that he uses "fuck" guitar. If you remember "Mandy" video, he used another red stickered Es-335. Also there are some pictures with both guitars. As I remember there was "fuck es-335" guitar in one cheetah video

Well they got rid of lots of Daves guitars too. On the 2019 AVA tour he only seemed to have his 2 white es335 diamond. None of his blue or black ones, or painted es333's. I wonder if Dave wishes he kept a few of them. The black was sick!
Wouldn't you sell them too if they demanded 10x the price? He could easily fund new/better guitars from those he used, wasn't crazy about, done with. Seems like a no brainer to me.

yeah it had a tele headstock. some subsonic fenders had tele headstocks but the orange one never did
