    David,
I'm an avid watcher of your reviews. I've been a professional, working magician for over 50 years and still am learning new techniques and sleights. Some of the new gimmicks work, some don't. Some last a long time, some don't. It seems that a lot of the ones that don't work as well as they're advertised or don't last as long as they should/could are the ones receiving all the media hype due to aggressive marketing. Those are the ones I really scrutinize. Before I plunck down a wad of cash, I ALWAYS check your reviews first, then a few others from seasoned pro's. Most of the time, you're spot on and I rely on that if I'm pressed for time and can't watch any other reviews or read any comments. Trust me, you have saved me a lot of money and headaches, David, but no one is right all the time. With OCTOPALM, you dropped the ball.
I also read the comments sections to see how many opposing opinions are given. But, comment sections have been infiltrated with paid shills who render negative opinions for good products and positive opinions for bad products for obvious reasons, so discernment and research are key before you order anything to prevent getting something that doesn't work and/or doesn't last.
I have had to modify quite a few gimmicks to make them work more smoothly for a better performance or to get them to work at all. I've modified others to make them last more than a dozen performances. Money tricks using paper currency are notorious for tearing and ripping due to repeated bending/folding. IMHO, the creators are guilty of fraud by not telling you of these very negative side effects. So are the online magic retailers for not warning you that the gimmick will not last very long at all given its present condition when sold and shipped to the unsuspecting consumer.
Sadly, I have found that ethics in the magic retail business are sadly lacking. More and more it's profit over quality and honesty. I have lost a lot of respect for some very talented creators and also for some large online retailers. FYI, I am Penguin Magic's very 1st customer when they went online 20 years ago. Same goes for MJM Magic. Very 1st customer. Between them both I have purchased hundreds upon hundreds of tricks. Needless to say, I have a junk drawer filled to the top and that is where OCTOPALM resides. It is nothing but a slightly stronger version of Pine Tar, same thing that baseball players rub on their bats to get a better grip.
Problem with OCTOPALM is that it makes coins unusable after the trick. They remain so sticky that they can't be handed out for examination. nor can they be put back into your pocket because they stick to everything. And forget about palming cards and re-using them because it never comes off a card. And don't get it on your clothes. It's a one trick pony.
Keep up with your great reviews, David. You're the best. Where were you 30 years ago?? LOL

Sorry you think I dropped the ball, I thought I was pretty clear that this stuff can't come off with simple soap and water - implying that this stuff is super sticky - and I also mentioned that the video is BETTER than the actual product. I also said that if something this sticky would bother you - clearly you should not get it, But yes you are right in addition to your skin - it will also be stuck on your props

I need to get more of this, it does not last long if you dont use it and leave it in the magic drawer. I just took it out about a month ago to play around and the packaging was cracking and the substance hardened up. I got this when I started getting back into magic about 10 or so years ago and found it was pretty amazing stuff. Use very little, it works great!

My birthday was last week. One of my family members got me a jar of octopalm from vanishing inc, and it's literally changed the way I do sleight of hand. They mentioned it in the video, but I kind of think they downplayed how much help this can be with even card magic. I have extremely dry skin, so I've never really been able to do a second deal or a bottom deal very well, but if I put a little bit of Octopalm on the tips of my thumb and middle finger, I can deal seconds all day long and nobody notices. This literally changed my entire approach to half of the tricks that I know. I can't recommend it enough

Everything from this review is true! (Except I happen to like the jar.) The next time you order some $40 or $50 product, toss this in too for such a cheap price. You'll probably find Octopalm does more for your magic than the pricier effect you ordered. It's a steal.

You don't necessarily need mineral spirits or paint thinner, as it can easily be removed with a combination of washing your hands, adding 80% or higher hand sanitizer and if that doesn't work then just add rubbing alcohol or nail polish remover and it comes right off

Too sticky. I tried to dilute it, but neither alcohol, paint thinner, nor acetone worked. The instruction should state how to make it weaker.
Warming it up over a stove makes it easier to apply, but the stuff is not of much use (except for antigravity routines). It riuns the cards, your clothing, and nothing can clean it up. Might as well use part A of an epoxy mix :)
