PROTEST STATED AT NAGALAND UNIVERSITY CAMPUS IN REGARD TO RECENT PRO VC INCIDENT

The entire community of the Nagaland University including Teachers association, Nagaland University Non-Teaching Staff Association, Nagaland University Students Union and Nagaland University Scholars Forum organised a protest on October 18 at the Nagaland University Campus Meriema. The protest was staged in regard to the recent incident that happened to the Pro Vice Chancellor of the University on October 16. On that day, while the Pro VC was on his way to duty, his official vehicle was stopped by some aggrieved contractors for not releasing their bill. The contractors obstructed the Pro VC from entering the University Campus.
Speaking to NLTV, General Secretary of Nagaland University Teachers Association, Narola Chuba informed that the University authority has already instituted a Fact-Finding Committee to find out the reasons for the incident within 48 hours.
Meanwhile, Village Council Chairman of Merima, Keduolhoulie Huozha informed NLTV that the Meriema Village Council never encouraged any citizen or group to hamper any development activities or road blockage at the N.U Kohima Campus. He also stated that the Meriema Village Council along with the ADC has requested the aggrieved contractors not to hamper the activities of the NU Kohima Campus and resolve the issue within a week time.
