Thanks for tuning in again! Quick note on something I forgot to include in the video - RJ doesn’t have wifi, so you may want to factor that into your plans! See you in the next video!
Hello Paul First of all, I’m glad you enjoyed your flights on RJ. Regarding the female uniforms, the red skirt and jacket is the standard one and worn by most FAs working in Economy as well as some of the juniors in Business. The lead female Business Class FA wears a traditional Jordanian dress to introduce elements of the Jordanian culture and traditions into the service. The dress, which is always hand-made and stitched, comes in wide range of different patterns and colors, each color and pattern of embroidery reflects a distinct part of Jordan 🇯🇴, rather than a rank of the FA. In fact, every FA is given 4 dresses of different colors to change between them. There are tens-hundreds of patterns, not a single dress is identical to the other. However, please note that the dress is only worn onboard the aircraft and FAs have to be strictly dressed in the regular official red uniform at all airport terminals (whether departing or arriving)
I’m glad to see you had a good experience with our beloved national airline 🇯🇴, yes the different colours of crew uniforms indicate different ranks of crew, the traditional dress or black uniform is usually worn by the Purser, the rest of the crew are in the iconic red uniform, as a Jordanian I’m once again so happy to see you reviewing our national treasure!
@@Paul_Lucas Nice to see the new intros for the flight info at the start of the videos been a big fan of this channel since Covid started love the channel and videos keep up the great work
Great review, Paul. Smaller airlines like this know the are competing against the big boys and so although they may not have the best wine list or the best hard product, they make up for it with service and little things like the coffee portrait and showing you the entrees so you see what you are getting. That goes a long way, especially when so many airlines just don't seem to care.
Great to see you back Paul. A few other vloggers out there but you are definitely the best. Not arrogant or sickly sweet like two other channels I have watched. The perfect blend of friendliness, informative and interesting.
I’ve flown RJ often from Dubai to Amman return. I’ve always been impressed by their customer focus and energetic crew. Fair play to them, they keep it simple, but excel at it.
Royal Jordanian has some of the best in-flight service I've ever experienced, and the food is always great, never hit-or-miss. Glad you finally decided to check them out, I love it when you go with the smaller carriers.
Back when we lived in Amman (1994-5) I took RJ several times back to Canada. It was an L1011 (an aircraft I wasn't fond off) with a refuelling stop in Amsterdam. In those days they had First Class and many of the flight attendants were Irish girls. The food was always splendid and the service polished but friendly. I remember one flight to Montreal when there were only two of us in First - myself and an elderly Sheik. I hadn't thought of RJ and how much I enjoyed flying them until today's video. Thank you.
Great video Paul. Your explanations are precise and you show everything we need to see to appreciate the experience. The food looked excellent, ambiance was something I would enjoy, and the flight attendant in that blue (suit ?) was something to see ! I would love to try this airline; and the livery of the Gulf Air you passed leaving Amman was interesting. Thanks for sharing this.
You’re right-I don’t often think about RJ at all 😂😂 I love that everything about them screams “old school airline,” from the seats on the A320 to the amenity kits to the meals. Seems like they know what they’re doing and they’re not anxious to change anytime soon. Like you said, that ‘90s feel is certainly a compliment.
Another great video Paul. Nothing to complain about these 2 flights. Lounges, staff & food looked delicious. A think a 10 out 10 for this airline. Cheers Lynne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨🦘🐨💙❤️💜
I didn't realise Royal Jordanian had so few aircraft in their fleet. Judging by your review, they may be small but perfectly formed. Nice. Thanks for sharing.
I can remember when you hit 100,000 subscribers you have come a long way, and still have excellent content, you and Jeb Brooks are my favs for travel. enjoy
I’m Jordanian American so we fly on rj quite frequently. I will say, even the economy class is nice to fly in, and the lounge has such a cozy feel (btw, they have arcade games in the lounge).
Love the videos Paul. I travel a fair bit and anytime I can’t fly my preferred carrier, for whatever reason, I watch the relevant videos on the carriers that are my options. I’m always looking forward to the next video.
Hope you enjoy in your flight We have 3 configuration for crew uniform 1- the red one *the basic uniform * for economy and business 2- black uniform for supervisor 3 - jordanian traditional dress usually wear by 1 crew in business class such as jordanian welcome 🙏🏻
My one trip into AMM was on the late great BMI in their A321, at the time BMI focused on London to Asia-Middle East. Flew out on an EK A332, now retired.
I flew RJ business a few years ago on the BKK-HKG tag when they still operated the A330. I absolutely agree with your thoughts about the staff and service. Lovely friendly people and personal service. Take care with the arabic coffee though - it's rocket fuel ! I'd certainly recommend RJ to anyone, and the BA TPs are always useful. Another enjoyable video Paul ... keep 'em coming.
Your 1st time flying RJ ? I’ve never heard of this airline before now. Thanks for sharing 😅 I agree, regrading the crew uniforms love the floral design ☺️
I love watching your videos. It's good to see you don't have issues speaking your mind about the airlines. The only unfortunate part of your videos is it the closest I will ever get to.the pointy end if the plane.
I flew in 1A on their 787 to Bangkok and Hong Kong and back a couple years ago and it was very nice. I agree with your assessment of RJ. My only gripe was the window seats not having aisle access but thankfully I was alone in that part of the aisle.
Hey Paul, another great vid, I always wait with anticipation for your uploads. Despite not being ultra up to date and flashy Royal Jordanian looks like they provide a very professional but relaxed service with everything you could want for pleasant flight experience. Loved the touch with you coffee in the lounge, its small things like this that really make a difference. Looking forward to the next upload. All the best from Western Australia. 😊
Anther really good review, Paul. A thought for you in light of current circumstances - can you do a video about your experiences with airport baggage handling, security and related processes / services? I'd be curious to see how different airports are dealing with these issues.
I had no idea that RJ was so small, but they are on my radar as I need to do some OneWorld long haul very soon. Thank you for the review, this encourages me to choose them.
Hi Paul 👋. Thanks for this outstanding review. I have seen mixed reviews of Royal Jordanian mainly by the "drama queens" of TH-cam aviation creators and naturally did not take them seriously. They tend to make every review all about their self important selves. 😱🤣. Thanks for highlighting the incredible service that few people are aware of on board RJ. The contract lounge in Dubai and the RJ lounge in Amman were "top of the line" and looked like great places to unwind and recharge. RJ's livery has been one of my favorite designs for some time. It's just such "understated elegance". This was such a welcome review of a good airline that unfortunately doesn't get much notice overall. Take care and have an enjoyable and rewarding week.

Royal Jordanian isn’t “forgotten” by residents of a certain age in my hometown. See, I grew up in Rochester, MN, home of the Mayo Clinic and King Hussein sought treatment for cancer. Not only were RJ jets frequent sights in the mid to late 90s (I actually have a model RJ Jet somewhere) it was the main reason Rochester became an international airport. Even if there is no international commercial service.
I think the King was a big supporter of the airline. Indeed, I seem to remember he passed out on the L-1011 TriStar. Whether he flew any line routes I don't know!
