Hi Claire I have been following you for years but have never commented. I wanted to tell you how brave you are to post your before pictures of your property and home while undergoing a massive reconstruction. Most everyone just shows the after and of course it is always lovely. These photos are so real and it is fascinating to see what people actually go through in their journey to get to where it will be completed and magnificent. You have wonderful ideas and its nice you ask your followers for their suggestions. My suggestion to you would be to slow down and take your time. It is a very large undertaking to do what you are doing. Just the grounds alone are a huge project as well as the pool, house and surrounding buildings. You just had a baby and are about to launch another round of your clothing line. You should be enjoying your vacation home and it should be relaxing not crazy stressful with everything ripped apart. Everyone wants things done yesterday and I get that. I hope your workers understand your vision and don't make it difficult for you and your beautiful family. I have just renovated a beautiful house in Tuscany . I find its better to go with plants and flowers that go with the area and that will survive the climate. This is the first summer in 2 years that i can actually sit back with a bittle of red wine local cheese and fruit and smile and enjoy❤
It’s going to be amazing when it’s all finished. It’s always fun to have a huge project that takes a few years to complete. Then you can have everything exactly the way you want it. I hope you and your beautiful family live there forever in lots of love & happiness.

Can’t believe you are back after only 9 weeks. I took 18 months off from life with my second, I wanted to enjoy every minute. I literally ate tea and biscuits all day and hunkered down with the kids for as long as possible. And got up to a size 16-18, but couldn’t have cared less. I was older than you, and found hot yoga to get back into shape. You can shed 3 dress sizes in a month hardly even trying. But you can’t do it if you are feeding, just enjoy the time, and when you are ready, you’ll ping back to where you were witb a bit of hot yoga! The SOF house renno is my favourite content, loved every minute!

Great idea. When the roof goes on the pool house it should totally shade in front of the house so that’s where they can play. They can also play inside the pool house and under the parasols and olive trees.

Thank you. No it’s not farm land, it’s typical sof countryside but we are so close to Cannes so it’s perfect having the best of both worlds. We don’t really have snakes here. Like literally never seen or heard anyone see one in 12 years. We have wild pigs which scare the life out of me but they are harmless.
No i wish! It’s one thing I wish we could have but it’s so expensive (I understand why) and it’s one thing we don’t “need”. I would love to in the future because I know someone could make it 100 times better than what I could.
@@claire.chanelle ok the main thing to know is to take the design lines from your house and pool. Think of everything in rectangles. This is especially important for hard landscaping, it must line up. You've got the right idea to focus on your views. Cypress trees can die easily with too much shade, water or drought when they're young. That area behind on the pool house looks tricky to grow another Cypress. If you do want the balance, cutting down the tree shading it is a good idea. And definitely get rid of the bamboo. It's horrible stuff
@@claire.chanelle and one other thing, if you like ornamental grasses, they do well in a Mediterranean climate. Your garden would suit having that texture against the flowers.
I forgot to say the shower is going by the entrance corner. I originally thought the same as you but it’s too shaded and might feel cold. But ever since I saw Pamela Anderson with an outdoor bathroom I’ve always wanted one and def having one here in France. It could be a great spot, I’m going to explore this. Thank you for the idea.

I have hydrangeas mass planted by my pool , once a year major cut back feed otherwise very low effort stunning contrast
In SoF they’ll need to be on drip. They may also need some shade

For your stone wall by the pool, I would consider planting either roses or bougainvillea white. You need a plant that can bloom well even in the heat.
