About Me:
My bio is pretty random: In short, I am a professional singer/songwriter from Toronto, Canada who moved to Manila, Philippines which sorta became my Hollywood because my first TH-cam channel MIKEYBUSTOSVIDEOS grew popular due to Filipino comedy videos. Meanwhile, I'm also a big biology geek who is obsessed with ants, so I built an internationally operating ant business supported by another popular channel called ANTSCANADA, and well basically, today I travel and tour around the world doing what I love so I wanted to start this vlogging channel, in hopes to encourage you guys to follow your dreams no matter how random, by showing you what happened when I followed mine! You just never know where life will take you when you listen to the yearnings of your heart!
Cats tend to choose their owner. Melody chose you, probably because she feels safe at mabuhay farm house, and mostly she knows that you understand her. Good idea to spay Melody and please keep her. If you’re planning to have her kittens be adopted, please do wait atleast when they are spayed/neutered. Thank you for sharing your home to these strays. God bless you and RJ.

The kittens are so cute and the mother is beautiful. You can start a trap, spay, neuter and release or adopt program like we have here in Toronto.
You can also build them a huge kitty condo to live in so they don't hurt your birds and get hurt roaming around.
Spay and neuter is the best way to stop strays.

Thanks for an update. If you plan on keeping cats on your farm you can check out videos of barn cats of how they behave around livestock. Cats are quite useful in keeping rodent and snake population low and they are quite protective. My uncle had cats on his farm while the chickens were roaming free with their chicks with no issues. It's good to have an enclosure for free roaming chickens so they can run in them in case there are predators like hawks and owls around.
Catch, neuter, and return. Just to prevent overpopulation. But cats are territorial, so if you get rid of them,others will just come to take their place. Plus cats are good for farms as they catch mice.
Hello, Mikey. If you can have someone adopt the kittens, it will be good because if you are not prepared to care of the lot if may be a problem for you. That is after they weaned from Melody like 2 to 3 months at least. It will be a responsible thing to do for Melody to be spayed after 4 months so you can control the cat population you area. Thank you for being considerate of Melody and her kittens. It makes me sad when some people considered stray dogs and cats as nuisance. If only our government can also be more proactive in terms of the stray population.
What you can do is sterilization and keep the kitten..they are harmless and they keep your property clean..of course care for them till they are 4 or 5 months ..take them to the vet and sterilize them then get them adopted to good home...thank you for feeding melody ..it is a blessing to care for a stray ..they choose you because they feel your heart ..thank you Angel for caring 🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼

Please keep the kitten have the spayed and neutered, and while they are growing up accustom them around birds and chickens. It is a matter of familiarizing and training them to mingle with fowls. Good luck . Whatever your decision i respect that.
I suggest keep Melody but spay her. If you don’t keep her another one will show up.

Congratulations Mikey and RJ! You're cat granpas now and soon to be wild bird grandpas! Mikey, I hope the famous news/celebrity couple Julius and TinTin (Bersola) Babao watches your channel and see how your birds are treated. I've seen a show which featured their house and it showed their parrot in a size-inappropriate cage without a toy. I hope I'm wrong and that wasn't where the parrot spent most of its time and it gets more human interaction.

Yes other cats will move in so best to keep a few spayed and neutered. I used to be a vet tech and we have a bad issue with feral cats here in Idaho. Get her spayed asap! My cat got pregnant about 5 wks after the first batch. Also feed her kitten food while she is nursing for extra protien and calcium. If you keep the kittens you can introduce the chicks with them. I did with my cats and they did great with the chickens and protected them!

Yes sharing is absolutely a blessing. We also love to host and we welcome visitors from the Philippines all the time. I live by Disney World Orlando and I love my house and neighborhood as we have big oak trees and pine trees, we have a big lake where you can fish and all amenities. We are also surrounded by nature but instead of cats, we have squirrels which i feed everyday. I get visited by Ravens, my spirit animal for protection. Love to see your mabuhay squad farm.
Pls. keep the Kittens if they are well feed and spayde or neutered,they don't disturb the livestock ,and keep us updated in every vlog....

You might wanna spay and neuter all the kittens including their mama, it’s very beneficial for them! They won’t get into fights and it’ll also decrease the risk of any bladder, reproductive or hormone issues. Even if Melody is nursing kittens right now she will still go through a heat cycle after 1-2 months so try to get her fixed before she ends up conceiving another round of kittens. Cats will mate all year round in the tropics, it’s not very good for her health too if she keeps giving birth to kittens, for references my neighbor’s cat gave birth to kittens 3 times last year and it really ruined her health 🥲 she’s an indoor cat but she keeps escaping and going missing for 2-3 days. 😞 she’s slowly gaining her weight back and I’ve been advising my neighbor to get her spayed soon.
Edit: I commented this without watching the whole video but I’m happy that she’ll get spayed at some point 🥹

I hope you can keep Melody and all the kittens, Mikey and Rj🙏🙏🙏. As the majority here suggested, just have them spayed and neutered. Not only will they help keep the rodents and snakes away but I heard they also help shoo away negative and evil spirits! I do not know if the latter is true but whatever, you will be blessed more for taking care of strays. So please consider keeping them in your beautiful farmhouse☺️♥️.

hey mikey I work in conservation in Malaysia and youre right, unfortunately the stray cat and dog population is extremely damaging to our ecosystems. if possible, you and RJ should seriously consider catching and spaying/neutering every stray cat + dog you see as you guys have the resources to make at least a slight difference in the stray population in your area humanely!! there are many people poisoning stray cats to reduce the stray population but thats just wrong in my eyes.
I'm so happy melody ended up on your property and gave birth to so many little angels. whatever you guys decide to do, I know it'll be the best decision c: cheers mikey!! missed seeing the birds in your vlogs

For you can keep them all and spayed or neutered them they hunt birds to survive but if you will take care of them they will learn what to eat and not, they are so.lovely I have 17 cats and 3 kittens and 7 dogs, I dreamed of having a farm like yours so I can have more pets, and also dream of having an animal sanctuary. It will be a big help to the community if you will keep them, as you are aware that stray cats and dogs really need help you can help by keeping them. God Bless
As far as your issue with the cats, my wife's family has 3 dogs, 2 cats, numerous hens ( for eggs ) and chickens as well as ducks and goslings. The hens, ducks, chickens and goslings have a large fenced in area with access to a tilapia pond and they cannot get out of this area but the dogs and cats have easy access to this area and happily walk amongst the poultry without attacking or bothering them and the poultry show no fear when in their presence.
Neuter and Spay is the solution pls don’t get rid of Melody. Cats are lucky charm

I have a stray cat also...she also had kittens in our home....she only had 3, all so adorable but one family adopted all three together ❤️ that makes me so happy! We adopted the mommy, she is spayed now and actually very high maintenance...for a stray cat, she became very picky about food...an inside cat now..refuses to go potty outside!! She gets along very well with our Umbrella Cockatoo...they have mutual respect. ❤🥰
Please find homes for the cats once they are old enough to be given away. Please include Melody. Please buy good food for Melody in the mean time as she is nursing

The birds will come and the cats will come. If you add cats others go away. That's is what it is. The moment I had cats all the wild cats dissepeared. So keep your more domestic cats. They will hunt the wild cats away. So nothing change for the birds.

Hi Mikey the pulp of the mangosteen is not edible but you can make tea out of it, just scoop up the inner pulp with a spoon, put it in a cup with hot water and sweetened it with whatever you want and it's done, enjoy your mangosteen tea. Have a nice day 😊

If u want to help the community u have to send all stray cats to vet that comes to ur area for castration to stop them multiply and pestering everyone for food/home, putting human in danger as well. That supposed to be LGU must do with all the cats and dogs there in Philippines but sadly no one cares.

Congrats! She chose your place to have her babies that's a blessing. Please have her checked out by a vet to make sure she's healthy. And keeping some of her babies is a good idea so they can all hang out with their mom outside. Thank you for taking good care of them. Kittens need to stay with mama Melody for ten weeks then they will be cute enough to rehome. I would keep one, especially if you have Melody spayed.

I took it upon myself to take care of my late lola's cats. To be fair, I only really take care of one outdoor cat - then I let the rests' sustenance be provided by neighbors.
Unfortunately as a student, I still don't have the ample resources to spay my one true cat "Harmon", let alone take care of her, and her wellbeing to the fullest - I have lots of ideas... which requires money. Oh! About the wild bird stuff, I've read somewhere that a bell collar helps them take notice of the cats before they get them.
She's had bunch of litters, failing at first but with increasing success as she's become a good mom. Then at their three month mark, they're open for adoption. Living in the province has helped, as they're kinda in demand in farms to take care of rats and snakes (They have faster reaction than snakes I've heard).
I'd like to think I've contributed to her success with my meager effort as a cat owner. I truly love her, and my heart aches for the ones she's lost. But sad to say, I still mostly leave them to the grace of nature.
