I love the series! Just watched the first 5 videos. I hope you keep releasing videos in the future. I previously learned some words in phrases when I lived in the Hokkien-speaking part of China, but it seems that even basic words like "You" are different. If I remember correctly, people in China/Taiwan say "Li" instead of "Lu".

Yes, how the word for "you" is pronounced in Hokkien depends on whether the pioneer settlers came from Quanzhou, Xiamen or Zhangzhou. The pronunciation in Penang is based on the Zhangzhou variant, and over there, "you" is pronounced lu rather than li or le.

Gamsia sensaeh for another amazing video!
Question: in 6:12 the tone for "beh" is 1 but then in the following vegetable examples the tone for "beh" is 3. However, I do think I'm still hearing the sandhi form with tone 1, is this correct?

I returned to 6:12 to listen to that part again. The word for buy is "beh4", but the tone may change (or slide) betwen beh4 and beh1.
Separately, the word for sell is "beh33". It sounds almost the same, with only a difference in tone.
