In today's video I'm THRIFTING AT THE GOODWILL $1 SALE...however there were SO MANY FAILS ALONG THE WAY LOL. Dropping things, weird stares, the entire credit card system shutting down, and then my microphone being completely off at the end! I thought it was important to show the good, the bad, and the ugly (aka hilarious) because thrifting isn't always this aesthetic trendy fun hobby, sometimes it's really awkward and you don't find the best stuff! I go trail running almost every morning and it’s customary to smile/wave/say “morning” when you pass someone. Whenever I see another woman walking/jogging I want to tell them they’re killing it or something else supportive but I always struggle with overthinking and then the moment passes. I worry they’ll think I’m being sarcastic or something? I wanna be that lady.

The reason why a certain color tag is a dollar is because it's the oldest color. Every week goodwill changes the color they mark their stuff with. There are 5 colors (atleast in my region). So whatever is the oldest is what is a dollar every week cus it didn't sell.

@@RheyanaxIrene well atleast in my area that's how it works. Goodwills run by regions and each region has its own specific procedures and different causes. So I mean it could vary drastically depending which region you're in. 🤷♀️ actually my region doesnt even do the dollar sale, but every week the oldest color tag is half off every sunday/Monday.
i’m so sad none of the goodwills in my area do the dollar sale :(
I realized this after thrifting at the same Goodwill for a month straight...I could also immediately tell what the newest color tag was cause there was soooo much of it 😂

@@alisse4175 It's not about being tall. I'm 13 and that happens to me small children getting in the way from me shopping. Parents should keep up with children and stop letting them run around like it's Chuck E Cheese.

About the whole consumerism ... I'm glad you addressed it in the beginning of your video. However, we often buy things we don't really like just because they are cheap. That's part of the problem, even if we buy it secondhand. If you don't put something on and you're like YAASSS, you probably shouldn't buy it. Convincing yourself that it would look cute with this or that or whatever is not the way to go. Considering what's already in your wardrobe is great! But when you have to make excuses to buy a cheap item, you should probably leave it be.
I'm very happy I came across your channel. We have the same size and same zones that are bigger than the beauty standards are trying to tell us. Lately I've also been really into the whole Pretty Privilege thing. Like, why do we women have to be "presentable" all the time? Why do we get treated nicer when we look pretty? Let us be ugly ffs.
I think what you are doing here is very important and I'm totally here for it and your journey. :)

Those deep edged plates from the 70's are PERFECT for making nachos. Most of them are oven save. I have a big platter like that, and it's AWESOME. #Ilovecheese

I love you Carrie. You are so full of realness and love for your body that you are one of the persons who really can change something.
So, I've worked at a couple goodwills and when they do dollar days (or 1.49$ day where i was) it is the oldest color tag that has been on the floor for a few weeks that goes on sale before they pull it and send it to the outlet store. While merch will continue to come out all day, it won't be the color tag that is on sale. So, time of day on dollar day does matter, and earlier is better, but if you want to avoid the crowds the sale usually gets progressively better through the week; ask the employees when the color switch is and they might even give you the color sale calendar. That being said, I would love to see a goodwill outlet video; you do have to dig more for the best deals, but the deals are extreme if you have the patience.

Goodwill is a lifesaver! I’m a plus size girl and have found some super cute clothes for super cheap (I also love your channel because we seem to be similar body types and it’s really awesome to see people proud of their body!)

Honest to God, I have not laughed so hard in a long time. The continual dropping things just kept escalating my hilarity. Whoo. I needed that. (Tbh, it’s always me awkwardly dropping things and knocking stuff over, so I felt a little less like a pariah watching this🤣). I love thrifting but it is very hit or miss. My wardrobe is almost exclusively thrifted items at this point, it just takes persistence to find what you love. Good vid as always.
