  • Welcome to the District Update!
First, a huge congratulations once again to the 10 new members of the Williamsville Wall of Fame. Since 2000, nearly 150 individuals have been added to the Wall of Fame, each with incredible contributions locally, regionally, across the state, country, and world. This year’s Class of 20-24 is no different. If you unable to attend the event or want to watch the induction ceremony, it is available to view on the District’s TH-cam Channel.
Next, I want to remind our school community that the regularly scheduled Board of Education meeting is scheduled for tonight at the District Office. There are several more administrators we are recommending to the Board of Education, and pending their approval, look forward to their leadership and outstanding work in our schools.
Speaking of our schools, there is an exciting new designation our high school students are able to achieve as they approach graduation! The District’s application to offer the New York State Education Department’s (NYSED) Seal of Biliteracy program at each of our high schools was approved for the 2024-2025 school year.
The New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB) recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages, in addition to English. If you have an interest in attaining this designation or any questions, please reach out your building coordinator. They are listed on the District and School websites.
Last week, Williamsville East and Williamsville South did a phenomenal job with their fall dramas. East debuted “A Christmas Carol” while South performed “Murder on the Orient Express.” Classic and well-known stories, the cast and crews wowed audiences. Williamsville North will bring “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” to life on November 22nd and 23rd. I’m looking forward to it, as well!
Don’t forget, the Williamsville PTSA Council is still accepting applications for student crafters and volunteers for the Holiday Craft Show. The event will be December 7th and 8th at the Heim schools. Links to sign-up are available in the District newsletter.
Enjoy the week and continue to work hard!
