If you're not looking to make money, an auction can be a great way to move on a car with no hassle. When I've bought cars for around £1k if I've put a few miles on them even if I've had to put a bit of time and effort into them, I figure if they sell at auction for the same or slightly less it's no great loss. In this case it was a learning experience. To be honest for the money someone should be pretty pleased with the paint job on that car, especially if runs and is roadworthy too.
Not necessarily. There's a lot that could be done for not much money that would turn it around. Plus, a golf cabrio that drives well has a market even with tatty paint.
Personally I think you missed a great opportunity with this car, when you did the paint work I like I am sure a lot of other people were, very interested to see the end result. You did admit it wasn't great but you should of shown us it in detail instead of a quick pan around the car not showing it's defects. It could have been a great video to show others that it's not worth taking a roller to a car ! you would of got more for the car if you sold it for scrap tbh.
Fair play your transparency and honesty are 100%.
As well as a 100% quiet wife😅.
Well done keep going
It was her idea to buy the car! 😁
Unlucky! I'm resigned to the fact that car ownership itself is a money sink

You were blessed, i think other than a no look auction you would have had to pay to have it scrapped
@@valient5 it wasn't a no look auction
@@Endfloat must have been after it for scrap so

I think you did ok. €400, no comeback, and a few videos of content.
To be honest that's how I'm looking at it. Easiest sale I've ever made!
