Been playing it nonstop since it released and still floored by how good it looks. Not just looks but feels. It is a ridiculous improvement engine wise, literally feels like a sequel despite being so familiar.

But the actual game sucks with exploits still not patched and never will be patched since the first ark.
Pve-solo fine but the PvP is so broken and toxic

I mean idk how a lot of people arent talkin about this, but its VERY BADLY optimized, not everybody can get their hands on a rtx 3080 or higher, or on goddamn 32 gb rams

You're smoking that good stuff and coping hard if you think this is touching RDR 2. RDR 2 looks and runs a shit ton better. This showcase is beautiful but they didn't show the frame counter either along with the graphics settings unedited. There's also nothing being showcased in this but environments. I'm curious how it runs with the character in action along with dinos and other elements happening in the same proximity.

But yeah its not optimized in anyway. When I turned off frame generation it did not crashed tho. Maybe that can help you too?
Go into command and type "stepsize" .....I can't remember the exact line but its basically a way to reduce clouds so you gain fps without having to remove clouds altogether.
I've a i9-9900k, 32gb RAM, NVME, RTX 3080 OCed and run the game at 4K with DLSS Ultra Performance Preset High only Shadow and distance lowerd to high and FPS limited to 30. Mostly i'm around the 30 but especially at dawn, sunset and sunrise the performacne goes down to more like 20fps. I hope there'll be some improvements and official cloud quality settings soon. I guess i'll rock this GPU till i can get my hands on a RTX 5070 or 5080 :).

On top of the amazing graphics, the soundscapes just felt right. At the top of the volcano, with that breeze blowing, made it feel like reality. Being in the volcano makes me want to know what an eruption would look and sound like in Asa. 😊
The sounds are a huge improvement indeed although demorphodons sounds like a huge creature straight out of Godzilla.
I play with everything on max and i get this constant shadow and light flickering everywhere i go. Its like adaptation is glitched or something. How do you get the game to look so stable and smooth without light flickering?

The weird lighting flickers where light passes through foliage, have you discovered a fix for that? Mine does the same thing but no one else ik who plays seems to be experiencing it

Wow I’ve never played ark BUT graphics alone make me want to purchase and enjoy the environment
If I ever get a PC powerful enough to play this game I will just keep it as simple as possible. Only tame one small creature as a companion like a raptor or sabertooth and role play as a prehistoric hunter on single player 😅. Playing this the way I've always played ark in the past just feel wrong. I wish we had an open world single player game that looked this good. Imagine a new Turok game in this setting

i bet there is still gonna be those muppets that turn all the settings down to the lowest so they get an "edge" in pvp, i remember seeing ark evolved pvp vids and the settings they had made the game look like a mobile game
Its sad. The game is so fucking nice looking with decent graphics but it will be objectively better for PVP to have settings at minimum and reduce clutter to hit people :(

I wish i could play this game on atleast high settings with 100 fps, i know its alot but, im so used to 144hz so that would be my minimum, but because i dont play PvP i dont want to play nintendo 64 level of graphics

well he heart of ark community never needed a better graphic. dont get me wrong i am also impressed how cool it looks in ASA but it would have way more important to have solid servers and less bugs. And with those settings on an PvP server u will find just a few people who can run this. an i guess even with an 4090 u would got fps drops with fast /shaking movments.

Sure not... PS5 and Xbox Series X won't have enought power for native 4k and also not for 4K with high FSR Quality. For sure it will be upscaled and lowered at some details. Maybe there'll be a native 4k low detail mode or a 1080p low detail 60fps mode. For "4K" @ DLSS Ultra Performance at Epic/High i must live with 30fps or less with my RTX 3080. That GPU is already stronger than PS5 and Series X ;). So expect pretty good but upscaled graphics @30fps.

They don't. In the lore this Island and many more are artifically generated space ships that floats in space preserving humanity and other creatures in case they find a habitable planet to land. Hence why they called ARKs.
Hawaii is like that at times of the year just FYI. It snows regularly in Hawaii at high elevations and of course it's nice down by the beach with lava.

I have a 3080, i get only like 45 fps with average high settings and dlss on, 4090 is almost required to actually experience the game at its fullest
