I'm glad there's someone out there that only runs the T2 at 80 sensitivity, leaves stuff in the ground for there rest of us. I've never run the T2 at below 85 and I normally run it at 99 with disc at 4.
Your hung up on disc that's good . Means you probably make plenty of other mistakes too . Ask a guy whose been at it since the 70s and they'll educate you on that principal . Not like I ain't got any finds myself . Got plenty and I do what I do because I choose to . I know the deal with what the sensitivity button does .

your comparing a morris oxford to an austin cambridge. less is more on iron laden sites with sensitivity,but anywhere else as high as possible for me,but i dont have emi issues with the G2+,so run at a 100 sens,no discrim,very quiet and stable. GL HH
I used to think the same way...but after 10s of thousands of hours, over two T2s, I never go OVER 85 sense. When I go over 85 old nails start to sound good. I admittedly miss a few targets but it saves me so much time digging nails and large iron, and falsing, that I cover more ground. I guess when my sites dry up I could go back and dig those 100s of nails and grab a few more keepers...but right now it's not worth it.
The makro racer two is a new machine the T2 is over ten years old!!! eagerly awaiting the arrival of the rumored T3!!!! Then compared new vs new... Its obvious the T2 was way ahead of everybody when it was produced and am a proud owner of. This great First Texas,Machine!!!
It is still good. The only minus i see now is not multi frequency. I'ved seen a lot of machines and how the feedback is. The "All metall" mode on clean ground is awesome.
I've owned 3 ctx's and 3 deus True! I'm always changing machines and currently have a g2+ which I haven't really put to work yet. My main (best) site is being harvested as we speak (roman and really irony)so im looking forward to cracking on with that. The first sweep on the macro on the first test told me straight away how sharp it was. Its a big coin I know at 10 inches was bang bang I straight away knew it's gona be good for much more with that response 🖒
Yes mate . My favourite type of detecting is sweeping Roman coins out of the iron . The T2 was great at that . Not had a chance to do that with the Racer 2 but I know it would be great at it also . Happy hunting mate .
Now what you need to do is get the T2 se LTD and use the BP mode.... Nothing much to touch it to be honest as is probably the deepest metal detector on the market!!! Not to forget the Cache mode too.......
Dieter Graham Used it mate . Plus the Racer 2 has a deep mode . I don't like those modes on either of them . Recommend sweep mode in them is a little slow for me .
I've been using an xp Deus for a couple years and after much thought and deliberation i've just ordered the racer 2. On watching this informative video i think i made the right choice! The Deus certainly can't match the depth that the racer can get.
I read where you said that you do not clean your detectors but it stands to reason cleaning them would make them last longer and also look much nicer and maybe stop them from having issues later on.Ihave the T2+ and would never dream of letting it look like that since it cost far too much money for me to destroy it or abuse it.
I've watched a few of your videos on the Makro 2 but Marko 1 is also good the Makro 2 is a tab deeper but I guy has a really good deal on the Makro 1 so how would you compare the Makro 1 to the F75?
I like both machines a lot . Despite being a bit deeper the racer 2 also has loads more features on it . Racer 2 all the way for me now . I lend my T2 to my mates .
Cheers buddy . I'm out in the field a lot so I need the most bang for my buck . I think your right about getting another 1 or 2 inches with the Racer 2 because when I tested its depth with the stock 11 inch coil on it did go 16 inches on a pre Dec penny . Plenty of Deus & CTX users who own the Racer as well favour the Racer 2 over the so called big boys 😊
Great video but the makro racer 2 is newer tech,than a original green t2,better comparison would be a T2 ltd/se with boost mode and cl mode..I am impressed with both machines though.

Sean Smith try doing some metal detecting videos of your own that people respect and then you might get a machine sent to you for free to review . This comes at a cost tho . You spend thousands of pounds travelling and getting on events etc and another price is having to put up with the scorn from fools who know nothing and do less .
alan sullivan I've used a T2 for years also the Racer 2 since its release and I briefly had a Nokta Fors Relic . The Nokta you can count out straight away in my opinion . They are simply uncomfortable to use due to bad ergonomics. Seeing as the Racer 2 is very much like the T2 but has many improvements including a back light the answer becomes self evident . Racer 2 all the way . My Racer 2 here in England has found me many musket balls, military buttons , Roman brooches and countless other relics . So buy one and come back and let me know how many cool relics it's finding for you out in the good old US of A 😊

watch your old vids,i dont need to film and boast,been a mudlark in my teens,fieldwalker and archeologist(part time) for thirty years,detecting is a great hobby,but the detectors are like cars,each to their own! with that said! with family,etc i never get the time to film..so get your facts correct, atb hh
one thing i noticed while watching other video about and t2 and f75 upg, they have better id at depth that the only think the macro lack actually ( and a solid screw for the coil)
They have better screws now on the Racer 2 . Basically ID at depth is down to experience also . A more experienced user will know when to dig a deep target or not .
you can rely on sound for the makro but having an id and steady id on screen in cross pattern will alway beat sound only. Im telling you that by experience, i have many hunt with the makro 1 on all kind of sand, dirt and rocks, and i own a tdi sl which is a pi and only sound based but got a basic discrimination. You can push the gain to 90 with no problem on the makro, the next thing you should try is do the deep mode on the racer 2 improve the target id at depth and maybe try the racer 2 against a t2 upg. i cant wait for the nokta impact to show up.
+Youdig I'm getting the Nokta impact to review and it's looking good . One thing people over look is ease of use . 2 tones , 80 gain , 3 discrim is a really user friendly setting . If you have a lot of targets in the field you can locate them quicker with these settings in my own experience at least . Then maybe once you've got all those targets you can forget all about deep mode which I have no idea what it's purpose is . Being as deep mode is not as deep as all metal mode . On the racer 2 a slow sweep method is advised for the deep mode . I do not want to change the way I detect for a mode that isn't even the deepest . Pull out 95 % of the targets with my usual settings . Forget all about deep mode and get the rest in all metal is my preferred method .

Each to their own but one thing I and many others who have bonded with the Racer 2 know is it's quite possibly the deepest machine on the market .
Well I still favour machines that are similar to it that’s why I’ve used a Deus 1 for years. Some latest machines might out do it but it caters for the Detecting style I favour and I’m not interested in things like the Manticore or CTX.

It's never a true test of depth on a fresh buried copper coin....needs to be a real target to do a true comparison .. (sorry) Good video otherwise...I own a Macro Racer as well.
Can't do a comparison test that would split two machines with a live target tho . Just be a miracle to find a target that would split two closely matched machines .
Because I have to do it all myself and the machines chatter . A million reasons why mate but you'd only fully understand if you tried to do all of it yourself including filming , digging holes etc .

rob Last I now own a Deus myself and your right mate . The Racer 2 is deeper and the 11 inch coil is better balanced on the R2 as well .

Two good machines there Steve use to own a t2 when I had muscles I run the deus light now at 60yrs old il keep with the xp keep the vids coming

Gary Rivard the reason I couldn’t do that was my T2 coil broke when I lightly tapped a root with it one day mate.

I don't clean my machines . They are just there to do a job . Racer 2 don't get cleaned either .

It's never a true test of depth on a fresh buried copper coin....needs to be a real target to do a true comparison .. (sorry)
Good video otherwise...I own a Macro Racer as well.
Can't do a comparison test that would split two machines with a live target tho . Just be a miracle to find a target that would split two closely matched machines .

Because I have to do it all myself and the machines chatter . A million reasons why mate but you'd only fully understand if you tried to do all of it yourself including filming , digging holes etc .
