So true, there is a ytber called magic the noah who makes games on mobile

Blizzard Entertainment uses separate game engines that were built specifically for each of there game series. If this sounds a bit confusing for you, here is what I'm talking about:
- The StarCraft series is run on the StarCraft Engine.
- The Warcraft series is run on the WoW Engine.
- The Diablo series is run the Diablo Engine
- Overwatch 2 is run on the Overwatch Engine.
All of these Engines are only used for these games and nothing else.
I thought overwatch ran on frostbite?
nvm it doesn’t
@@brahillms1374why would they use EA's proprietary engine to develop their game lmao
Idk, it depends on the use cases, but they clearly went for a different approach

Algodoo is also a game engine in a way because it has a Script Menu where you can code in there
And many people have programmed algodoo games with it like erikfasset, mikan, etc
I just logged into my 10 year old algodoo account last year and my scenes are still there!
Ah yes jack spero marble races

Where the Little Big Planet level creator
Coppercube is great although i wish the developers added more to it and it would be the perfect easy to use engine!
Edit: Also i do use it and there is a few games made with Copper Cube such as PostCollapse.
Fancade is technically a game engine too, hope youll add it to part 3. also, just like Scratch, Fancade uses scripts packed in "blocks" to make coding easier
You should include turbowarp. Yeah, sure, its basically scratch, but its ways different. Firstly, it runs everything in javascript, making the 3d games playable, secondly, you can customise everything from the screen size to the fps, and lastly, you can use custom extensions to do stuff like locking the mouse, and theres even one made just for physics.
I would include pdnguinmod instead cuz its more different, but i think just scratch mode representation in general would be cool to see.
@@oxanis penguinmod is a mod of turbowarp, penguinmod doesnt really change much of how the projects run
In that case you should also include gandi ide
@@hasanmohammed3690 that’s still just turbowarp but with more extensions and blocks, the way it runs is exactly the same as turbowarp
@@SDFTDusername (In that case)
if you do part 3, blitz3D is def one (i believe thats what its called). The most notable game to be made on that engine is SCP Containment Breach
i think the game is the reason blitz3D is well-known now

When I ask you to add Roblox Studio, I was kidding, but thanks for listening. But I don't think I was the only one I asked for it, or you gain the idea from me, but it's still nice👍
I remember a long time ago I found a game engine called Stncyl. It looked similar to Scratch but you had to download it and it was more advanced. Never seen anything good made with it but it's interesting.
there's a person who created a 3d engine in the gd editor

It would make far more sense to mention WarioWario DIY than Mario Maker, because WarioWare DIY is an actual (micro)game engine.
didn't know that was a thing lol, will include in part 3!
Blitz3D, DarkBASIC Professional, and 3D Game Studio would be some good additions for part 3.
as a possible suggestion, if you want to make a part 3:
maybe you could cover big developer / publishers in house engines further: e.g. Fox Engine, the different Ubisoft Engines (Snowdrop, Anvil, UbiArt), Frostbite, LunchPack, Clausewitz, id Tech)
Good to know that geometry dash is now considered a game engine
You've gone unhinged
That was INSANELY fast man
Cover gzdoom
Its a source port but you can make games with it as an engine and put said games on sale so I think it counts
If you ever do a part 3 video, there is AGS (Adventure Game Studio), which is used for point-and-click adventure games like the King's Quest 1-3 VGA remakes.
You should probably mention RenderWare, it was made by Criterion when they were under Canon's occupation. It was the engine that powered the burnout series and offered both "realistic" graphics and physics simulation (which i think still holds up today unlike the graphics)
A lot of games were powered by it, like the aforementioned burnout series but also sonic heros (i think), the older gta games, the tony hawk series, bully and a few others
Criterion was then bought by EA was used to power many of their games but the public could no longer use it.
Criterion themselves is an interesting story of its own (especially with how burnout and the renderware engine came to be)
I'm guessing since we're including beginner game engines and level editors in games, then I must mention Fancade. It's an app available for mobile devices only (afaik) that allows for creating simple 3D and 2D games in a voxel artstyle. It's very similar to Scratch in a way that the programming is block-based and games made in Fancade are only playable in the app.
with scratch mods though like turbowarp you can export projects
gonna take this opportunity to brag a bit and mention that i actually met the developer of fancade at a convention and was given early access to the app long before it came out.
hey, i am one of the psychopaths that use no game engine. its not really that hard, you just have to know a little bit of c++, and how to use libraries. graphics programming is hella underrated imo
how did you learn it?
this is a certified GL_INVALID_VALUE classic
You need to put Hazel Engine, which is an engine created by TheCherno, it also uploads content to TH-cam about how its development is going, there is even another engine called Hazel 2D Engine, which is a series of tutorials on TH-cam on how to create an engine from scratch, I would like you to add it to the next part, btw, very good video!
he's right gd triggers are technically a programing language
I am still surprised you haven't mentionned the RE Engine as it's a really powerful engine and has very notable and major games made with it.
I would like to see;
ursina engine, build engine(Duke nukem), id tech engine(doom and wolfenstein 1992- 2020), renderwave engine(gta san andreas), goldsrc engine (Half-life), klauswitz engine(HOI4), diesel engine (payday2),frostbite engine (halo infinite)
Halo infinite ain't made in frostbite it's made in slipspace or the originally named blam engine. Frostbite is used by dices EA
@@Pulsef1r3 shit yea i mixed it up with another game
Hey stopshut, can you make a video talking about ALL types of code?. Just find as much as you can!
You should also include turbowarp if you ever make a part 3
It's a scratch modification which runs everything on Javascript, and has a ton of features that scratch doenst have. It also has a lot of advanced extensions which are really cool.
There are also some games made in turbowarp that are on steam such as Homeless Guy, Battlemon, Dragonium Adventure and more
You're missing:
- GameSalad
- Stencyl
- Amazon Lumberyard
- 001 Game Creator
- Core (Unreal Engine)

@@felipepereira214 ahh yes ty

Frostbite is what EA uses because they own it of course
Perfect Segue from Coco's into geometry dash
ModuleSystem Engine. Used in recent Niiiiiintendo games
Part 3 Idea:

flax game engine. it's much like unity or stride but still is in a very early phase, lacking a ton of much needed features, but it's still a good choice for those used to unity.
a suggestion i have for part 3 is stencyl, it`s basically just scratch but actually good
in part 3 you should include fancade
The 'ID Tech' engine tree (Quake engine), it powers quake and it serves the basis for other first person shooter game engines like GoldSrc (which leads to the Source series) and IW Engine (Call of Duty series)
In roblox studio if you holding an object it can randomly disappear, and the more part in object, the more chance of an object dissapearing
Damn, Ren'py should have been on the more mainstream list. Or at least, at the very top of this list.
If you another one, I would recommend BEARD, it is a game engine used by Twisted Pixel to make it's games, they also compete with Unreal Engine.
I had no idea that there were this many game engines. I only knew Unreal and Unity, but there's that many game engines??? I'm no game dev so I wouldn't know that all that existed besides the two I previously stated. This was funny and informative to watch; now that I know what I can use to make a game of my own in the future. As a bonus, most require C++ or C#. I'll try to make my own game one day but that's up to future me. XD
You could Say the gldsource source 2 Adobe flash editor Doom and quake Engine the s&box editor and Microsoft exel
well done!
WE DID IT BOIS, GD IS A GAME ENGINE
Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 & 2 were developed by one man in assembly. Absolute baller, game engines are for the week
Adobe Flash, Id Software Engine.
Leadwerks, serving 3D and VR game development since 2006, and developers who opt for self-coding without a game engine were discussed. The video encouraged viewers to suggest lesser-known engines for potential coverage in future episodes.
Some Game Engines I would like to see in Part 3 include Frostbite Engine, RenderWare, 4A Engine, REDengine, idTech Engine, IW Engine, Creation Engine, RE Engine, Crystal Engine, Avalanche Engine.
And yeah, these are all in-house engines used almost exclusively for their companies. But I still like them, especially idTech
Hazel. A game engine project by TheCherno which is nearing the end of development, but can be made to ship and create games.
Hey I was your 8 thousand subscriber
The Leadworks map editor looks similar to the Source tool for maps called Hammer
The gslides/powerpoint game dev community needs more recognition ngl been making games since 3rd grade
Dagor is a game engine made by Gaijin Entertainment and is mainly used for their titles War Thunder, Enlisted, Crossout etc.
roblox wasnt made in 2006 but RELEASED in 2006, it was made in 1996 and was named dynablox and many other names before it became a game. such a physics engine, a hosting service, etc. but roblox was kinda public in 2004. so
We did it boys, geometry dash is now an official game engine 🔥🔥🔥
the BeamNG Cryengine to Torque3D switch was a good idea, the Cryengine version was unstable and really buggy.
You should have Game Builder Garage, the beginner node engine for the Switch
I can't believe Super Mario Maker got covered before LittleBigPlanet. It's still a level editor, but it has logic gates and parts letting you fully customize controls, physics and even music. Later they even added a part that lets you save progress in a level after quiting.
I know i may be ignored but can you add kodu game lab for pary 3?
I use Vulkan with LWJGL bindings (It is somewhat tedious but the framework is very logical)
Suggestions:
Frostbite (EA)
Bevy (a rust game engine)
I would like to see the dreams engine, also known as the bubble bath engine, it was made by media molecule
Little Big Planet is kind of a game engine It itself it uses Materials objects and flow charts to make levels And they also have a built in physics engine Nobody talks about Little Big Planet That much nowadays
Geometry Dash has turned into a whole game engine.
You should include the Diesel game engine. The most popular games made with this engine are payday the heist and 2
I’m scared of the community: We made platformers where you could move left, right AND jump when we only had TWO controls, now we have SIX controls, just imagine what we could do, we’re already close to making DOOM (we have everything we need, we have made a 3D rendering game in gd, we just need to make it look like doom, make a gun (simple) and then make some ai enemies (possible but will take some time) and then we have doom in gd)
And rob will most likely add more controls and effects, we also have remakes of poppy playtime chapter III, the backrooms and enter the gungeon (with ai) in 1-3 months, our power is too large, WE CAN MAKE GD IN GD, then we can make gd in gd in gd in gd…
How did you build the factory in basics in intermediate filmmaking
I kinda code everything myself, by that I mean I work for a game console called the Playdate so I do get foundations like UI integration and drawing sprites and sound but there's no 3D, physics or animation system.
Hypehype!
It's a new developing mobile 3D gamedev editor that allows you to create games using simple visual scripting!
So basically no coding involved as such
It has good rendering system, so it has a lot of potential!
please include Dragon Engine in part 3
Was the music at the beginning used in FNaF pizza sim? It sounds familiar
In blender you can make a game without using game engine by binding python code to different geonode nodes
Nah, you missed the part where the Gd engine is actually a thing. Coco was changed so much by RobTop that it's essentially it's own engine. It's the reason why when RobTop stops developing the game another can't just pick it up, because it's so unique and would require Rob to teach someone how it works to be able to code in it
Geometry dash counts as a Game engine? You better call me a Game engineer.
it doesnt
@@user-nq6wn4hm7s this video is called "every game engine explained in 5 minutes (part 2)" and it has geometry dash. So its a game engine. Also People made Games inside of gd
@@Jellotines , man, this is so stupid. First, it looks like you were watching the video using your ass, becuase the creator of the video himself doubted that it's a game engine and the reason he included it is just because of the comments. Second, including level maker in some stupid TH-cam video doesn't mean anything, especially it doesn't MAKE it the game engine. Third, GD Level Maker is very limited and unnecessarily comlex for making just a "game" which is, in fact, just a level inside of Geometry Dash. If one day level makers they will be considered in the same niche as software used to create and develop video games, there will sirely be a lot of them. just think about what you said man. Teardown has a really good custom engine AS WELL as great modding support, makes it very possible to make full games in it.

I love so much for showing the most respect to geometry dash editor
For part 3 : Löve2D, Bitsy and Pico 8 for some "real" engine. For the fun or unexpected ones : Microsoft Excel (I've seen some impressive stuff with it) and Doom Engine (where a lot of mods are real games).
Open3d engine, which came from lumberyard , which came from cryengine, it's open source and made by amazon, pretty sur starcitzen and new world run on it (or lumberyard, since they are pretty much the same thing) and now it's handle by Open 3D Foundation, a subsidiary of the Linux Foundation
