One of the best performances. Very different from Ferrier,Podlias,Ludwig and so many others. This is is certainly one of the best singers of all times.
Such an amazing masterpiece! It has been criticized as "expressive, dramatic, and emotionally clear." What did Diskau and Mahler have to say when they met in heaven? A deep appreciation to KLAUS for allowing me to experience the always thoughtful works!

You may also find it interesting if you compare with Ferrier. It’s amazing, how one of the best singers of lieder uses even his weaknesses to make the performance more dramatic. I actually prefer this performance to an earlier recording by the same singer.
Fischer-Dieskau - what a voice, what stage presence, what an artist!
Yes, second to none in Mahler, absolutely fantastic. His imagination and vocal espressivo break all boundaries, simply incredible!
Even with an 'older' voice, D F-D is still capable of unrivalled colour and expression, giving a deeply moving account. What an artist!
